Abstract:This paper is devoted to studying the extrapolation theory of Rubio de Francia on general function spaces. We present endpoint extrapolation results including $A_1$, $A_p$, and $A_\infty$ extrapolation in the context of Banach function spaces, and also on modular spaces. We also include several applications that can be easily obtained using extrapolation: local decay estimates for various operators, Coifman--Fefferman inequalities that can be used to show some known sharp $A_1$ inequalities, Muckenhoupt--Wheeden and Sawyer's conjectures are also presented for many operators, which go beyond Calderón--Zygmund operators. Finally, we obtain two-weight inequalities for Littlewood--Paley operators and Fourier integral operators on weighted Banach function spaces.

Sawyer estimates of mixed type for operators associated to a critical radius function

Abstract:We prove mixed inequalities for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function $M^{\rho,\sigma}$, where $\rho$ is a critical radius function and $\sigma\geq 0$. We also exhibit and prove an extension of Cruz-Uribe, Martell and P\'erez extrapolation result in \cite{CruzUribe-Martell-Perez} to the setting of Muckenhoupt weights associated to a critical radius function $\rho$. This theorem allows us to give mixed inequalities for Schr\"odinger-Calder\'on-Zygmund operators, extending some previous estimates that we have already proved in \cite{BPQ}. Since we are dealing with unrelated weights, the proof involves a quite subtle argument related with the original ideas from Sawyer in \cite{Sawyer}.

Abstract:In recent years, sharp or quantitative weighted inequalities have attracted considerable attention on account of the conjecture solved by Hytönen. Advances have greatly improved conceptual understanding of classical objects such as Calderón–Zygmund operators. However, plenty of operators do not fit into the class of Calderón–Zygmund operators and fail to be bounded on all spaces for and . In this paper we develop Rubio de Francia extrapolation with quantitative bounds to investigate quantitative weighted inequalities for operators beyond the (multilinear) Calderón–Zygmund theory. We mainly establish a quantitative multilinear limited range extrapolation in terms of exponents and weights , , which refines a result of Cruz-Uribe and Martell. We also present an extrapolation from multilinear operators to the corresponding commutators. Additionally, our result is quantitative and allows us to extend special quantitative estimates in the Banach space setting to the quasi-Banach space setting. Our proof is based on an off-diagonal extrapolation result with quantitative bounds. Finally, we present various applications to illustrate the utility of extrapolation by concentrating on quantitative weighted estimates for some typical multilinear operators such as bilinear Bochner–Riesz means, bilinear rough singular integrals, and multilinear Fourier multipliers. In the linear case, based on the Littlewood–Paley theory, we include weighted jump and variational inequalities for rough singular integrals.

Abstract:In this paper we present a generalization in the context of multilinear Muckenhoupt classes of the endpoint extrapolation theorem on restricted weights due to Carro, Grafakos and Soria. Moreover, our main result is obtained on limited ranges of boundedness and to this aim we introduce a new limited range, off-diagonal extrapolation theorem in the context of restricted weights. In addition, as one of the applications, we prove endpoint estimates of certain bi-sublinear maximal functions associated with the study of return time theorems in ergodic theory.

Extrapolation on product Morrey-Herz spaces and applications

Abstract:Recently, the extrapolation theory has become a mainsteam method to investigate some integral type operators, since it does not depend on the density of spaces. The purpose of this paper is threefold. The first is to establish product Morrey-Herz spaces and product block-Herz spaces, study the duality between them, and prove the boundedness of strong maximal operators product block-Herz spaces, which is ready for extrapolation. Secondly, we set up extrapolation on product Morrey-Herz spaces by the methods of Rubio de Francia. Finally, as applications, we prove some completely new boundedness and estimates for some operators on product Morrey-Herz spaces, such as Fefferman-Stein vector-valued strong maximal inequalities, John-Nirenberg inequality and a new characterization of bmo in terms of product Morrey-Herz spaces, and the boundedness of bi-parameter Calder\'on-Zygmund operators and their commutators.

Extrapolation and Factorization of matrix weights

Abstract:In this paper we prove the Jones factorization theorem and the Rubio de Francia extrapolation theorem for matrix $\mathcal A_p$ weights. These results answer longstanding open questions in the study of matrix weights. The proof requires the development of the theory of convex-set valued functions and measurable seminorm functions. In particular, we define a convex-set valued version of the Hardy Littlewood maximal operator and construct an appropriate generalization of the Rubio de Francia iteration algorithm, which is central to the proof of both results in the scalar case.

Abstract:We prove an extrapolation of compactness theorem for operators on Banach function spaces satisfying certain convexity and concavity conditions. In particular, we show that the boundedness of an operator T in the weighted Lebesgue scale and the compactness of T in the unweighted Lebesgue scale yields compactness of T on a very general class of Banach function spaces. As our main new tool, we prove various characterizations of the boundedness of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator on such spaces and their associate spaces, using a novel sparse self-improvement technique. We apply our main results to prove compactness of the commutators of singular integral operators and pointwise multiplication by functions of vanishing mean oscillation on, for example, weighted variable Lebesgue spaces.

A note on one sided extrapolation of compactness and applications

Abstract:In this paper one sided counterparts of compactness extrapolation results of Hytönen and Lappas are provided. As a consequence of those results, compactness results for one sided singular integrals, commutators of one sided fractional integrals and a certain class of $L^{r}$-Hörmander operators are provided. The results for commutators of $L^{r}$-Hörmander operators seem new even in the classical setting.

Exponential inequalities under the sub-linear expectations with applications to laws of the iterated logarithm

Abstract:Kolmogorov’s exponential inequalities are basic tools for studying the strong limit theorems such as the classical laws of the iterated logarithm for both independent and dependent random variables. This paper establishes the Kolmogorov type exponential inequalities of the partial sums of independent random variables as well as negatively dependent random variables under the sub-linear expectations. As applications of the exponential inequalities, the laws of the iterated logarithm in the sense of non-additive capacities are proved for independent or negatively dependent identically distributed random variables with finite second order moments. For deriving a lower bound of an exponential inequality, a central limit theorem is also proved under the sub-linear expectation for random variables with only finite variances.

Abstract:Rubio de Francia's extrapolation in generalized grand Morrey spaces is derived. This result is applied to the investigation of the regularity of solutions for the second order partial differential equations with discontinuous coefficients in the framework of generalized grand Morrey spaces under the Muckenhoupt condition on weights. Density properties for these spaces are also investigated.

Abstract:Let $S_{\alpha }$ be the multilinear square function defined on the cone with aperture $\alpha \ge 1$. In this paper, we investigate several kinds of weighted norm inequalities for $S_{\alpha }$. We first obtain a sharp weighted estimate in terms of aperture $\alpha $ and $\vec {w} \in A_{\vec {p}}$. By means of some pointwise estimates, we also establish two-weight inequalities including bump and entropy bump estimates, and Fefferman–Stein inequalities with arbitrary weights. Beyond that, we consider the mixed weak type estimates corresponding Sawyer's conjecture, for which a Coifman–Fefferman inequality with the precise $A_{\infty }$ norm is proved. Finally, we present the local decay estimates using the extrapolation techniques and dyadic analysis respectively. All the conclusions aforementioned hold for the Littlewood–Paley $g^*_{\lambda }$ function. Some results are new even in the linear case.

Abstract:The aim of this article is to deepen the understanding of the derivation of $\mathrm{L}^p$-estimates of non-local operators. We review the $\mathrm{L}^p$-extrapolation theorem of Shen which builds on a real variable argument of Caffarelli and Peral and adapt this theorem to account for non-local weak reverse Hölder estimates. These non-local weak reverse Hölder estimates appear for example in the investigation of non-local elliptic integrodifferential operators. This originates from the fact that here only a non-local Caccioppoli inequality is valid, see Kuusi, Mingione, and Sire. As an application, we prove resolvent estimates and maximal regularity properties in $\mathrm{L}^p$-spaces of non-local elliptic integrodifferential operators.

Abstract:We prove two-weight norm inequalities for parabolic fractional maximal functions using parabolic Muckenhoupt weights. In particular, we prove a two-weight, weak-type estimate and Fefferman-Stein type inequalities for the centered parabolic maximal function. We also prove that a parabolic Sawyer-type condition implies the strong-type estimate for the parabolic fractional maximal function. Finally, we prove the strong-type estimate for the centered parabolic maximal function assuming a stronger parabolic Muckenhoupt bump condition.

On feasibility of extrapolation of completely monotone functions

Abstract:The feasibility of extrapolation of completely monotone functions can be quantified by examining the worst case scenario, whereby a pair of completely monotone functions agree on a given interval to a given relative precision, but differ as much as it is theoretically possible at a given point. We show that extrapolation is impossible to the left of the interval, while the maximal discrepancy to the right exhibits a power law typical for extrapolation of similar classes of complex analytic functions. The power law exponent is derived explicitly, and shows a precipitous drop immediately beyond the right end-point, with a subsequent decay to zero inversely proportional to the distance from the interval. The local extrapolation problem, where the worst discrepancy from a given completely monotone function is sought, is also analyzed. In this case explicit and easily verifiable optimality conditions are derived, enabling us to solve the problem exactly for a single decaying exponential. In the general case, our approach leads to a natural algorithm for computing solutions to the local extrapolation problem numerically. The methods developed in this paper can easily be adapted to other classes of analytic functions represented as integral transforms of positive measures with analytic kernels.
