Abstract:There have been many parallel streams of research studying order isomorphisms of some specific sets $\mathcal{G}$ of functions from a set $\mathcal{X}$ to $\mathbb{R}\cup\{\pm\infty\}$, such as the sets of convex or Lipschitz functions. We provide in this article a unified abstract approach inspired by $c$-convex functions. Our results are obtained highlighting the role of inf and sup-irreducible elements of $\mathcal{G}$ and the usefulness of characterizing them, to subsequently derive the structure of order isomorphisms, and in particular of those commuting with the addition of scalars. We show that in many cases all these isomorphisms $J:\mathcal{G}\to\mathcal{G}$ are of the form $Jf=g+f\circ \phi$ for a translation $g:\mathcal{X}\to\mathbb{R}$ and a bijective reparametrization $\phi:\mathcal{X}\to \mathcal{X}$. Given a reference anti-isomorphism, this characterization then allows to recover all the other anti-isomorphisms. We apply our theory to the sets of $c$-convex functions on compact Hausdorff spaces, to the set of lower semicontinuous (convex) functions on a Hausdorff topological vector space and to 1-Lipschitz functions of complete metric spaces. The latter application is obtained using properties of the horoboundary of a metric space.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is about a unified treatment method for order isomorphisms in a specific function space \(G\). Specifically, the paper focuses on the order isomorphism problems on certain specific function sets \(G\) from set \(X\) to \(\mathbb{R} \cup \{\pm\infty\}\), and these function sets include convex functions, Lipschitz functions, etc. The main goal of the paper is to introduce the concept of \(c\)-convex functions, propose a unified method to study the order isomorphisms on these function sets, and reveal the specific forms of these isomorphisms. ### Background and Motivation of the Paper 1. **Importance of Order Isomorphisms**: - Order isomorphisms can be regarded as a non - linear version of the Banach - Stone theorem, which is related to the study of homomorphisms between sets. - The study of order isomorphisms helps to understand some common transformations, such as the Fenchel transform or the polar duality of convex bodies, especially in the valuation theory in convex geometry. - For some equations (such as the complex Monge - Ampère equation), order isomorphisms provide new Blaschke - Santaló - type inequalities. 2. **Research Status**: - For finite sets \(X\), there has been some pioneering work in tropical geometry, especially regarding the maximal point representation of convex sets. - For infinite sets, research mainly focuses on the spaces of convex functions, continuous functions, and Lipschitz functions. - For example, Artstein - Avidan and Milman focus on the characterization of certain operations on convex function subsets, while other research focuses on the Banach space structure of continuous functions. ### Main Results 1. **Main Theorem**: - The paper proves that for multiple function spaces of interest \(G\subset \mathbb{R}^X\), every bijective mapping \(J\) that is invariant under pairwise suprema and scalar addition (i.e., (max, +) isomorphism) can be represented as: \[ Jf(x)=g(x)+f(\phi(x)) \] where \(g: X\to \mathbb{R}\) is a translation and \(\phi: X\to X\) is a bijective re - parameterization. 2. **Specific Applications**: - **\(c\)-Convex Functions on Compact Hausdorff Spaces**: The paper shows the conditions for the existence of (max, +) isomorphisms between \(b\)-convex functions and \(c\)-convex functions. - **1 - Lipschitz Functions**: Using the horoboundary properties of metric spaces, the paper gives the characteristics of (max, +) isomorphisms on 1 - Lipschitz functions. - **Lower - Semicontinuous Convex Functions on Locally Convex Hausdorff Topological Vector Spaces**: The paper discusses the properties of (max, +) isomorphisms of these functions. ### Methods and Techniques 1. **Irreducible Elements**: - The paper introduces the concepts of sup - irreducible and inf - irreducible elements, and these elements remain invariant under order isomorphisms. - By studying these irreducible elements, the paper reveals the structure of order isomorphisms. 2. **Extension to Broader Function Spaces**: - The paper also discusses how to extend order isomorphisms from specific function spaces to the smallest suprema - stable sets containing these spaces. ### Conclusion The paper provides a unified method to study order isomorphisms on different function spaces by introducing the concept of \(c\)-convex functions. This method is applicable not only to convex functions but also to Lipschitz functions and other types of functions. By studying irreducible elements, the paper reveals the specific forms of these isomorphisms and provides new perspectives and tools for future related research.
