Abstract:The existence of radially symmetric solutions is discussed for a Lane-Emden type system. This answer a question posed by da Silva and do O (2024). We also comment on the inhomogeneous version of the same system and discuss some open questions.

Abstract:Abstract We investigate existence and qualitative properties of globally defined and positive radial solutions of the Lane-Emden system, posed on a Cartan-Hadamard model manifold $ {{\mathbb{M}}}^{n} $. We prove that, for critical or supercritical exponents, there exists at least a one-parameter family of such solutions. Depending on the stochastic completeness or incompleteness of $ {{\mathbb{M}}}^{n} $, we show that the existence region stays one dimensional in the former case, whereas it becomes two dimensional in the latter. Then, we study the asymptotics at infinity of solutions, which again exhibit a dichotomous behavior between the stochastically complete (where both components are forced to vanish) and incomplete cases. Finally, we prove a rigidity result for finite-energy solutions, showing that they exist if and only if is isometric to $ {\mathbb{R}}^{n} $.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the critical Lane-Emden system \begin{align*} \begin{cases} -\Delta u=K_1(y)v^p,\quad y\in \mathbb{R}^N,&\\ -\Delta v=K_2(y)u^q,\quad y\in \mathbb{R}^N,&\\ u,v>0, \end{cases} \end{align*} where $N\geq 5$, $p,q\in (1,\infty)$ with $\frac{1}{p+1}+\frac{1}{q+1}=\frac{N-2}{N}$, $K_1(y)$ and $K_2(y)$ are positive radial potentials. Under suitable conditions on $K_1(y)$ and $K_2(y)$, we construct a new family of solutions to this system, which are centred at points lying on the top and the bottom circles of a cylinder.

Abstract:We study the anti-symmetric solutions to the Lane-Emden type system involving fractional Laplacian (-Delta)(s) (0 < s < 1). First we obtain a Liouville type theorem in the often-used defining space L-2s. An interesting lower bound on the solutions is derived to estimate the Lipschitz coefficient in the sub-linear cases. Considering the anti-symmetric property, one can naturally extend the defining space from L-2s to L2s+1. Surprisingly, with this extension, we show the existence of non-trivial solutions. This is very different from the previous results of the Lane-Emden system.

Abstract:We consider the Lane-Emden system-$\Delta$u = |v| p-1 v,-$\Delta$v = |u| q-1 u in R d. When p $\ge$ q $\ge$ 1, it is known that there exists a positive radial stable solution (u, v) $\in$ C 2 (R d) if and only if d $\ge$ 11 and (p, q) lies on or above the so-called Joseph-Lundgren curve introduced in [5]. In this paper, we prove that for d $\le$ 10, there is no positive stable solution (or merely stable outside a compact set and (p, q) does not lie on the critical Sobolev hyperbola), while for d $\ge$ 11, the Joseph-Lundgren curve is indeed the dividing line for the existence of such solutions, if one assumes in addition that they are asymptotically homogeneous (see Definition 1 below). Most of our results are optimal improvements of previous works in the litterature.

Abstract:We establish the existence of multiple solutions for singular quasilinear Lane–Emden type systems with a precise sign information: two unique solutions of opposite constant sign and a nodal solution with at least components of opposite constant sign. For sign-coupled systems, these components are of changing and synchronized sign. The approach combines sub-supersolutions method and Leray–Schauder topological degree involving perturbation argument.

Abstract:We prove that the Dirichlet problem for the Lane-Emden system in a half-space has no positive classical solution that is bounded on finite strips. Such a nonexistence result was previously available only for bounded solutions or under a restriction on the powers in the nonlinearities.

We believe that the various new ideas and technique computations that we used in this paper would be very useful to deal with other related problems involving critical Halmitonian system and the construction of new solutions.

Abstract:We consider the following slightly supercritical problem for the Lane-Emden system with Neumann boundary conditions: \begin{equation*} \begin{cases} -\Delta u_1=|u_2|^{p_\epsilon-1}u_2,\ &in\ \Omega,\\ -\Delta u_2=|u_1|^{q_\epsilon-1}u_1, \ &in\ \Omega,\\ \partial_\nu u_1=\partial_\nu u_2=0,\ &on\ \partial\Omega \end{cases} \end{equation*} where $\Omega=B_1(0)$ is the unit ball in $\mathbb{R}^n$ ($n\geq4$) centered at the origin, $p_\epsilon=p+\alpha\epsilon, q_\epsilon=q+\beta\epsilon$ with $\alpha,\beta>0$ and $\frac1{p+1}+\frac1{q+1}=\frac{n-2}n$. We show the existence and multiplicity of concentrated solutions based on the Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction argument incorporating the zero-average condition by certain symmetries. It is worth noting that we simultaneously consider two cases: $p>\frac n{n-2}$ and $p<\frac n{n-2}$. The coupling mechanisms of the system are completely different in these different cases, leading to significant changes in the behavior of the solutions. The research challenges also vary. Currently, there are very few papers that take both ranges into account when considering solution construction. Therefore, this is also the main feature and new ingredient of our work.

Abstract:In this paper, we are devoted to studying the positive weak, punctured or distributional solutions to the biharmonic Lane-Emden equation \begin{equation*} \Delta^{2} u=u^{p} \quad \quad \text{in} \ \mathbb{R}^{N}\setminus Z, \end{equation*} where $N\geq5$, $1<p\leq\frac{N+4}{N-4}$, and the singular set $Z$ represents a closed and proper subset of $ \left\lbrace x_{1}=0\right\rbrace $. The symmetry and monotonicity properties of the singular solutions will be given by taking advantage of the moving plane method and the approach of moving spheres.

Abstract:The positive solutions to the critical Lane–Emden equation in Rn have been classified completely by the moving plane method. Afterwards, with additional conditions such as limited energy or volume, there is proof that relies entirely on integration by parts and inequalities techniques. In this paper, the authors provide a new approach to obtain the same classification results without further assumptions.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider systems of fractional Laplacian equations in Er with nonlinear terms satisfying some quite general structural conditions. These systems were categorized critical and subcritical cases. We show that there is no positive solution in the subcritical cases, and we classify all positive solutions u(i) in the critical cases by using a direct method of moving planes introduced in Chen-Li-Li [11] and some new maximum principles in Li-Wu-Xu [27].

Abstract:We consider the Lane-Emden equation with a supercritical nonlinearity with an inhomogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition on an infinite cone. Under suitable conditions for the boundary data and the exponent of nonlinearity, we give a complete classification of the existence/nonexistence of a solution with respect to the size of boundary data. Moreover, we give a result on the multiple existence of solutions via bifurcation theory. We also state results on Hardy-Hénon equations on infinite cones as a generalization.

Abstract:In this paper, we are mainly concerned with the following system in an exterior domains: [Formula: see text] where [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] is an integer, [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text] is the polyharmonic operator. We prove the nonexistence of positive solutions to the above system for [Formula: see text] if [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text] if [Formula: see text]. The novelty of the paper is that we do not ask [Formula: see text] satisfy any symmetry and asymptotic conditions at infinity. By proving the superharmonic properties of the solutions, we establish the equivalence between systems of partial differential equations (PDEs) and integral equations (IEs), then the method of scaling sphere in integral form can be applied to prove the nonexistence of the solutions.

Abstract:We analyze the Lane–Emden equations in the cylindrical framework. Although the explicit forms of the solutions (which are also called polytropes) are not known, we identify some of their qualitative properties. In particular, possible critical points and zeros of the polytropes are investigated and discussed, leading to possible improvements in the approximation methods which are currently employed. The cases when the critical parameter is odd and even are separately analyzed. Furthermore, we propose a technique to evaluate the distance between a pair of polytropes in small intervals.

Abstract:We consider the Lane-Emden problem on planar domains. When the exponent is large, the existence and multiplicity of solutions strongly depend on the geometric properties of the domain, which also deeply affect their qualitative behavior. Remarkably, a wide variety of solutions, both positive and sign-changing, have been found when the exponent is sufficiently large. In this paper, we focus on this topic and fine new sign-changing solutions that exhibit an unexpected concentration phenomenon as the exponent approaches infinity.

Abstract:In this paper, we study then early critical Lane-Emden equations { -Delta u=up-epsilon in Omega, u>0 in Omega, u=0 on partial derivative Omega,where Omega subset of R(N)with N >= 3,p=N+2N-2and epsilon>0 is small.Our main result is that when Omega is a smooth bounded convex domain and the Robin function on Omega is a Morse function, then for small epsilon the equation(& lowast;) has a unique solution, which is also non degenerate.As for non-convex domain, we also obtain exact number of solutions to(& lowast;) under some conditions .In general, the solutions of (& lowast;) may blow-up at multiple points a1,<middle dot><middle dot><middle dot>,a k of Omega as epsilon -> 0.In particular, when Omega is convex, there must be a unique blow-up point(i.e. k=1).In this paper, by using the local Pohozaev identities and blow-up techniques even having multiple blow-up points(non-convex domain),we can prove that such blow-up solution is unique and non degenerate.
