Abstract:This paper presents our project and perspectives to measure for the first time beam spin asymmetries from Double Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering in the $eP\to e'P' \mu^+\mu^-$ reaction at Jefferson Lab. Our goal is to constrain the so-called Generalized Parton Distribution (GPDs) in a kinematic region that isn't accessible from other reactions, such as Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering, to allow for their extrapolation to "zero skewness", i.e. at a specific kinematic point enabling for tomographic interpretations of the nucleon's partonic structure. We are discussing DDVCS phenomenology and our approach, as well as our experimental project aimed at complementing the SoLID experiment at JLab Hall A with a new muon detector.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
This paper aims to measure for the first time the beam - spin asymmetry in Double Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering (DDVCS), especially in the \(eP \rightarrow e'P'\mu^+\mu^-\) reaction carried out in Jefferson Lab Hall A. The main objective of the study is to constrain the so - called Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs) in the kinematic regions that are inaccessible in other reactions (such as Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering), thus allowing the extrapolation of these distributions to "zero skewness", that is, to perform a tomographic interpretation of the parton structure of the nucleon at a specific kinematic point. ### Problems the paper attempts to solve: 1. **Explore new kinematic regions**: The paper hopes to explore the kinematic regions that are inaccessible in other reactions, especially those related to "zero skewness", by measuring DDVCS. This helps to better understand the internal structure of the nucleon. 2. **Constrain GPDs**: Through measurements in these new regions, GPDs can be more precisely constrained, which is crucial for the tomographic interpretation of the nucleon. 3. **Technical challenges**: The paper also discusses the experimental technical challenges, including how to design and use new muon detectors to supplement the SoLID spectrometer in order to achieve accurate measurements of DDVCS. ### Formula presentation: - **Definition of GPDs**: \[ H(\xi, t)=\sum_q e_q^2\left[\mathcal{P}\int_{ - 1}^1 dx\frac{H_q(x,\xi,t)}{\xi - x}+i\pi H_q(\xi,\xi,t)\right] \] where \(e_q\) is the elementary charge of the quark and \(\mathcal{P}\) represents the Cauchy principal value integral. - **Compton form factor of DDVCS**: \[ H(\xi',\xi,t)=\sum_q e_q^2\left[\mathcal{P}\int_{ - 1}^1 dx\frac{H_q(x,\xi,t)}{\xi' - x}+i\pi H_q(\xi',\xi,t)\right] \] where \(\xi'\) is an additional scaling variable representing the skewness of GPDs. - **Differential cross - section**: \[ \frac{d^7\sigma}{dx_B dy dt d\phi dQ'^2 d\Omega_\mu}=\frac{\alpha^4}{(2\pi)^316 x_B y Q^2\sqrt{1+\epsilon^2}\sqrt{1-\frac{4m_\mu^2}{Q'^2}}}|T|^2 \] where \(\alpha\) is the fine - structure constant, \(\epsilon\) is the polarization parameter, and \(T\) is the reaction amplitude. - **Beam - spin asymmetry**: \[ \left(\begin{array}{c} A_{\sin\phi}^{LU}\\ A_{\sin\phi_\mu}^{LU} \end{array}\right)=\frac{1}{N}\int_{\pi/4}^{3\pi/4}d\theta_\mu\int_0^{2\pi}d\phi_\mu\int_0^{2\pi}d\phi\left(\begin{array}{c} 2\sin\phi\\ 2\sin\phi_\mu \end{array}\right)\left(\frac{d^7\sigma_{\rig}
