On $(α,1,0)$-derivations of anti-commutative algebras

Abstract:We solve an open problem concerning the well-known $(\alpha,\beta,\gamma)$-derivations, proving that the spaces of $(\alpha,1,0)$-derivations of any Lie algebra are isomorphic ($\alpha\neq 0,1$). Also, we prove sharp bounds for the invariants functions defined by such spaces.

Abstract:We study the concept of extended derivations of algebras which expands diverse definitions of generalized derivations given in the literature. We concentrate on the family of the anti-commutative algebras and classify such spaces of derivations by considering a suitable notion of equivalence when we restrict attention to sucssh algebras. Afterwards, we investigate a link between the well-known (α,β,γ) -derivations and some new extended derivations obtained in our classification. Finally, we present applications of extended derivations to study degenerations of algebras.

Abstract:This paper is primarily concerned with (α, β, γ)-derivations of finite-dimensional Lie superalgebras over the field of complex numbers. Some properties of (α, β, γ)-derivations of the Lie superalgebras are obtained. In particular, two examples for (α, β, γ)-derivations of low-dimensional non-simple Lie superalgebras are presented and the super-spaces of (α, β, γ)-derivations for simple Lie superalgebras are determined. Using certain complex parameters we generalize the concept of cohomology cocycles of Lie superalgebras. A special case for the generalization of 1-cocycles with respect to the adjoint representation is exactly (α, β, γ)-derivations. Furthermore, two-dimensional twisted cocycles of the adjoint representation are investigated in detail.
Enveloping algebras of derivations of commutative and noncommutative algebras

Abstract:Let $\Bbbk$ be a field of characteristic zero. Motivated by the fundamental question of whether it is possible for the universal enveloping algebra of an infinite-dimensional Lie algebra to be noetherian, we study Lie algebras of derivations of associative algebras. The main result of this paper is that the universal enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra of derivations of a finitely generated $\Bbbk$-algebra is not noetherian. This extends a result of Sierra and Walton on the Witt algebra, as well as a result of the second author on Krichever-Novikov algebras. We highlight that the result applies to derivations of both commutative and noncommutative algebras without restriction on their growth.

Abstract:In this paper we study non-nilpotent non-Lie Leibniz -algebras with one-dimensional derived subalgebra, where is a field with . We prove that such an algebra is isomorphic to the direct sum of the two-dimensional non-nilpotent non-Lie Leibniz algebra and an abelian algebra. We denote it by , where . This generalizes the result found in Demir et al. (Algebras and Representation Theory 19:405-417, 2016), which is only valid when . Moreover, we find the Lie algebra of derivations, its Lie group of automorphisms and the Leibniz algebra of biderivations of . Eventually, we solve the coquecigrue problem for by integrating it into a Lie rack.

Abstract:Given a von Neumann algebra $M$ with a faithful normal semi-finite trace $\tau,$ we consider the non commutative Arens algebra $L^{\omega}(M, \tau)=\bigcap\limits_{p\geq1}L^{p}(M, \tau)$ and the related algebras $L^{\omega}_2(M, \tau)=\bigcap\limits_{p\geq2}L^{p}(M, \tau)$ and $M+L^{\omega}_2(M, \tau)$ which are proved to be complete metrizable locally convex *-algebras. The main purpose of the present paper is to prove that any derivation of the algebra $M+L^{\omega}_2(M, \tau)$ is inner and all derivations of the algebras $L^{\omega}(M,\tau)$ and $L^{\omega}_2(M, \tau)$ are spatial and implemented by elements of $M+L^{\omega}_2(M, \tau).$

Abstract:We show that any nonexpansive derivation on a subalgebra of a dis-jointly complete commutative regular algebra extends up to a derivation on . For an algebra of functions , continuous on a dense open subset of Stone compact X , we establish that the lack of nontrivial derivation is equivalent to σ -distributivity of the Boolean algebra of clopen subsets of X . The field is an arbitrary normed field of charachteristic zero containing a complete non-discrete subfield. Our work is motivated by two seemingly unrelated problems due to Ayupov [2] and Wickstead [32].

Abstract:We initiate a study on a range of new generalized derivations of finite-dimensional Lie algebras over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. This new generalization of derivations has an analogue in the theory of associative prime rings and unites many well-known generalized derivations that have already appeared extensively in the study of Lie algebras and other nonassociative algebras. After exploiting fundamental properties, we introduce and analyze their interiors, especially focusing on the rationality of the corresponding Hilbert series. Applying techniques in computational ideal theory we develop an approach to explicitly compute these new generalized derivations for the three-dimensional special linear Lie algebra over the complex field.

Abstract:In this note, we will prove that a finite dimensional Lie algebra $L$ of characteristic zero, admitting an abelian algebra of derivations $D\leq Der(L)$ with the property $$ L^n\subseteq \sum_{d\in D}d(L) $$ for some $n\geq 1$, is necessarily solvable. As a result, if $L$ has a derivation $d:L\to L$, such that $L^n\subseteq d(L)$, for some $n\geq 1$, then $L$ is solvable.

Abstract:Journal of Algebra and Its Applications, Ahead of Print. Let [math] be a unital prime ∗-algebra containing a nontrivial projection [math]. In this paper, it is shown that if a mapping [math] satisfies Φ((A ◇ B) ◇ C) = (Φ(A) ◇ B) ◇ C + (A ◇ Φ(B)) ◇ C + (A ◇ B) ◇ Φ(C),(0.1) or Φ((A ∗ B) ∗ C) = (Φ(A) ∗ B) ∗ C + (A ∗ Φ(B)) ∗ C + (A ∗ B) ∗ Φ(C)(0.2) for all [math], where [math] and [math], then [math] preserves self-adjoint elements. Therefore, the two relations (0.1) and (0.2) will be equivalent for every [math] and [math]. This result makes possible to unify the conclusions in a single statement which implies the above two results. In fact, it is shown that if a map [math] satisfies the conditions in (0.1) or (0.2) for every [math] and [math], then [math] is an additive ∗-derivation.

Abstract:Let A be a semi-finite factor von Neumann algebra. We prove that if a map δ:A→A satisfies that for any A,B∈A there is a linear derivation δA,B:A→A such that δ(A)B+Aδ(B)=δA,B(AB) , then δ is a linear derivation. It is a positive answer to the problem on semi-finite factor von Neumann algebra posed by Molnár in the paper [A new look at local maps on algebraic structures of matrices and operators, New York J Math 28 (2022)].

Abstract:We prove that every 2-local derivation from the algebra $M_n(\mathcal{A})(n>2)$ into its bimodule $M_n(\mathcal{M})$ is a derivation, where $\mathcal{A}$ is a unital Banach algebra and $\mathcal{M}$ is a unital $\mathcal{A}$-bimodule such that each Jordan derivation from $\mathcal{A}$ into $\mathcal{M}$ is an inner derivation, and that every 2-local derivation on a C*-algebra with a faithful traceable representation is a derivation. We also characterize local and 2-local Lie derivations on some algebras such as von Neumann algebras, nest algebras, Jiang-Su algebra and UHF algebras.

Abstract:We prove a theorem about the derivation algebra of the tensor product of two algebras. As an application, we determine the derivation algebra of the fixed point algebra of the tensor product of two algebras, with respect to the tensor product of two finite order automorphisms of the involved algebras. These results generalize some well-know theorems in the literature.

Abstract:Let E = E(0,infinity) be a symmetric function space and E(M,tau) be the noncommutative symmetric space corresponding to E(0,infinity) associated with a von Neumann algebra with a faithful normal semifinite trace. Our main result identifies the class of spaces E for which every derivation delta : A -> E(M, tau) is necessarily inner for each C*-subalgebra A in the class of all semifinite von Neumann algebras M as those with the Levi property.

Abstract:If $\Delta$ and $\Gamma$ are two derivations of a commutative algebra $A$ such that $\Delta\Gamma-\Gamma\Delta=\Delta$ is locally nilpotent, one can endow $A$ with a new product $\ast$ whose filtered semiclassical limit is the Poisson structure $\Delta\wedge\Gamma$.In this article we first study theses (Poisson) algebras from an algebraic point of view, and when $A$ is a polynomial algebra, we investigate their homological properties. In particular, when the derivations $\Delta$ and $\Gamma$ are linear, the algebras $(A,\ast)$ provide, in each dimension at least four, new examples of multiparameter families of Artin-Schelter regular algebras. These algebras are deformations of Poisson algebras $(A,\Delta\wedge\Gamma)$ of rank $2$, thus explaining the title of the article.Assuming furthermore a technical condition on $\Gamma$, we show that the algebra $(A,\ast)$ is Calabi-Yau if and only if the trace of $\Gamma$ is equal to $1$ if and only if the Poisson algebra $(A,\Delta\wedge\Gamma)$ is unimodular.Since the trace of $\Gamma$ is a linear function of the parameters, the algebras $(A,\ast)$ also provide, in each dimension at least four, new examples of multiparameter families of Calabi-Yau algebras.

Abstract: Let $S(0,1)$ be the $*$-algebra of all classes of Lebesgue measurable functions on the unit interval $(0,1)$ and let $(\mathcal{A},\left\|\cdot \right\|_\mathcal{A})$ be a complete symmetric $\Delta$-normed $*$-subalgebra of $S(0,1)$, in which simple functions are dense, e.g., $L_\infty (0,1)$, $L_{\log}(0,1)$, $S(0,1)$ and the Arens algebra $L^\omega (0,1)$ equipped with their natural $\Delta$-norms. We show that there exists no non-trivial derivation $ \delta: \mathcal{A} \to S(0,1)$ commuting with all dyadic translations of the unit interval. Let $\mathcal{M}$ be a type $II$ (or $I_\infty$) von Neumann algebra, $\mathcal{A}$ be its abelian von Neumann subalgebra, let $S(\mathcal{M})$ be the algebra of all measurable operators affiliated with $\mathcal{M}$. We show that any non-trivial derivation $\delta:\mathcal{A} \to S(\mathcal{A})$ can not be extended to a derivation on $S(\mathcal{M})$. In particular, we answer an untreated question in \cite{BKS1}.

Abstract:Let $A$ be a finite-dimensional algebra over a field $F$ with char$(F)\ne 2$. We show that a linear map $D:A\to A$ satisfying $xD(x)x\in [A,A]$ for every $x\in A$ is the sum of an inner derivation and a linear map whose image lies in the radical of $A$. Assuming additionally that $A$ is semisimple and char$(F)\ne 3$, we show that a linear map $T:A\to A$ satisfies $T(x)^3- x^3 \in [A,A]$ for every $x\in A$ if and only if there exist a Jordan automorphism $J$ of $A$ lying in the multiplication algebra of $A$ and a central element $\alpha$ satisfying $\alpha^3=1$ such that $T(x)=\alpha J(x)$ for all $x\in A$. These two results are applied to the study of local derivations and local (Jordan) automorphisms. In particular, the second result is used to prove that every local Jordan automorphism of a finite-dimensional simple algebra $A$ (over a field $F$ with char$(F)\ne 2,3$) is a Jordan automorphism.
