Abstract:In this paper, we study the Bakry-Émery Ricci flow on finite graphs. Our main result is the local existence and uniqueness of solutions to the Ricci flow. We prove the long-time convergence or finite-time blow up for the Bakry-Émery Ricci flow on finite trees and circles.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the CR (Cauchy-Riemann) Yamabe flow with zero CR Yamabe invariant. We use the CR Poincaré inequality and a Gagliardo-Nirenberg type interpolation inequality to show that this flow has the long time solution and the solution converges to a contact form with flat pseudo-Hermitian scalar curvature exponentially.

Abstract:We study the long-time behavior of the solution to the connection Ricci flow on closed three-manifolds. The connection Ricci flow is a generalization of the Ricci flow to connection with torsion. We compare the evolving metrics under the connection Ricci flow and Ricci flow for some special cases. We obtain the blow-up rate of the Ricci tensor under the connection Ricci flow. Based on the result, we give the classification of the maximal solutions to the flow.

Abstract:We study the existence of solutions of Ricci flow equations of Ollivier-Lin-Lu-Yau curvature defined on weighted graphs. Our work is motivated by\cite{NLLG} in which the discrete time Ricci flow algorithm has been applied successfully as a discrete geometric approach in detecting complex networks. Our main result is the existence and uniqueness theorem for solutions to a continuous time normalized Ricci flow. We also display possible solutions to the Ricci flow on path graph and prove the Ricci flow on finite star graph with at least three leaves converges to constant-weighted star.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a new notion of curvature on the edges of a graph that is defined in terms of effective resistances. We call this the Ricci--Foster curvature. We study the Ricci flow resulting from this curvature. We prove the existence of solutions to Ricci flow on short time intervals, and prove that Ricci flow preserves graphs with nonnegative (resp. positive) curvature.

Abstract:We develop a theory of Ricci flow for metrics on Courant algebroids which unifies and extends the analytic theory of various geometric flows, yielding a general tool for constructing solutions to supergravity equations. We prove short time existence and uniqueness of solutions on compact manifolds, in turn showing that the Courant isometry group is preserved by the flow. We show a scalar curvature monotonicity formula and prove that generalized Ricci flow is a gradient flow, extending fundamental works of Hamilton and Perelman. Using these we show a convergence result for certain nonsingular solutions to generalized Ricci flow.

Abstract:In this paper we compute the Ricci flow formulas for invariant metrics on prinicpal $G$-bundles compatible with the connection. Our primary focus is on torus bundles which we use to study a notion of Bakry-Émery Ricci flow as well as Ricci flow on circle bundles over Kähler-Einstein manifolds. The latter application gives us solutions to Ricci flows on Heisenberg groups and implicit solutions to Ricci flows on Berger 3-spheres and several other 3-dimensional manifolds.

Abstract:We show that the analogue of Hamilton's Ricci flow in the combinatorial setting produces solutions which converge exponentially fast to Thurston's circle packing on surfaces. As a consequence, a new proof of Thurston's existence of circle packing theorem is obtained. As another consequence, Ricci flow suggests a new algorithm to find circle packings.

Abstract:We show the properties of the blowup limits of \KRf solutions on Fano surfaces if Riemannian curvature is unbounded. As an application, on every toric Fano surface, we prove that \KRf converges to a Kähler Ricci soliton metric if the initial metric has toric symmetry. Therefore we give a new Ricci flow proof of existence of Kähler Ricci soliton metrics on toric surfaces.

Abstract:For an immortal Ricci flow on an $m$-dimensional $(m\ge 3)$ closed manifold, we show the following convergence results: (1) if the curvature and diameter are uniformly bounded, then any unbounded sequence of time slices sub-converges to a Riemannian orbifold; (2) if the flow is type-III with diameter growth controlled by $t^{\frac{1}{2}}$, then any blowdown limit is an $m$-dimensional negative Einstein manifold, provided that Feldman-Ilmanen-Ni's $\boldsymbol{\mu}_+$-functional satisfies $\lim_{t\to \infty} t\boldsymbol{\mu}_+'(t)=0$.

Abstract:In this paper, we give the first detailed proof of the short-time existence of Deane Yang’s local Ricci flow. Then, using the local Ricci flow, we prove the short-time existence of the Ricci flow on noncompact manifolds, whose Ricci curvature has global lower bound and sectional curvature has only local average integral bound. The short-time existence of the Ricci flow on noncompact manifolds with bounded curvature was studied by Wan-Xiong Shi in the 1990s. As a corollary of our main theorem, we obtain the short-time existence part of Shi’s theorem in this more general context.
Finite time singularities of the Kähler-Ricci flow

Abstract:We establish the scalar curvature and distance bounds, extending Perelman's work on the Fano Kähler-Ricci flow to general finite time solutions of the Kähler-Ricci flow. These bounds are achieved by our Li-Yau type and Harnack estimates for weighted Ricci potential functions of the Kähler-Ricci flow. We further prove that the Type I blow-ups of the finite time solution always sub-converge in Gromov-Hausdorff sense to an ancient solution on a family of analytic normal varieties with suitable choices of base points. As a consequence, the Type I diameter bound is proved for almost every fibre of collapsing solutions of the Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano fibre bundle. We also apply our estimates to show that every solution of the Kähler-Ricci flow with Calabi symmetry must develop Type I singularities, including both cases of high codimensional contractions and fibre collapsing.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a modified Ricci flow, as well as a quasi-normalized Ricci flow, on arbitrary weighted graph. Each of these two flows has a unique global solution. In particular, these global existence and uniqueness results do not require an exit condition proposed by Bai et al in a recent work [2]. As applications, these two Ricci flows are applied to community detection for complex networks, including Karate Club, American football games, Facebook, as well as artificial networks. In our algorithms, unlike in [5,15], there is no need to perform surgery at every iteration, only one surgery needs to be performed after the last iteration. From three commonly used criteria for evaluating community detection algorithms, ARI, NMI and Q, we conclude that our algorithms outperform existing algorithms, including Ollivier's Ricci flow [5], normalized Ollivier's Ricci flow and normalized Lin-Lu-Yau's Ricci flow [15]. Abstract:In this paper we study $n$-dimensional Ricci flows $(M^n,g(t))_{t\in [0,T)},$ where $T< \infty$ is a potentially singular time, and for which the spatial $L^p$ norm, $p>\frac n 2$, of the scalar curvature is uniformly bounded on $[0,T).$ In the case that $M$ is closed, we show that non-collapsing and non-inflating estimates hold. If we further assume that $n=4$ or that $M^n$ is Kähler, we explain how these non-inflating/non-collapsing estimates can be combined with integral bounds on the Ricci and full curvature tensor of the prequel paper <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2406.02351" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2406.02351">arXiv:2406.02351</a> to obtain an improved space time integral bound of the Ricci curvature. As an application of these estimates, we show that if we further restrict to $n=4$, then the solution convergences to an orbifold as $t \to T$ and that the flow can be extended using the Orbifold Ricci flow to the time interval $ [0,T+\sigma)$ for some $\sigma>0.$ We also prove local versions of many of the results mentioned above.

Abstract:We show that a simply-connected closed four-dimensional Ricci flow whose Ricci curvature is uniformly bounded below and whose volume does not approach zero must converge to a orbifold at any finite-time singularity, so has an extension through the singularity via orbifold Ricci flow. Moreover, a Type-I blowup of the flow based at any orbifold point converges to a flat cone in the Gromov–Hausdorff sense, without passing to a subsequence. In addition, we prove bounds for the curvature tensor on time-slices for any . In higher dimensions, we show that every singular point of the flow is a Type-II point, and that any tangent flow at a singular point is a static flow corresponding to a Ricci flat cone.

Abstract:In this paper we investigate a kind of generalized Ricci flow which possesses a gradient form. We study the monotonicity of the given function under the generalized Ricci flow and prove that the related system of partial differential equations are strictly and uniformly parabolic. Based on this, we show that the generalized Ricci flow defined on a $n$-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold admits a unique short-time smooth solution. Moreover, we also derive the evolution equations for the curvatures, which play an important role in our future study.

Abstract:We develop some estimates under the Ricci flow and use these estimates to study the blowup rates of curvatures at singularities. As applications, we obtain some gap theorems: $\displaystyle \sup_X |Ric|$ and $\displaystyle \sqrt{\sup_X |Rm|} \cdot \sqrt{\sup_X |R|}$ must blowup at least at the rate of type-I. Our estimates also imply some gap theorems for shrinking Ricci solitons.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the behavior of Ricci flows on compact orbifolds with finite singularities. We show that Perelman's pseudolocality theorem also holds on orbifold Ricci flow. Using this property, we obtain a weak compactness theorem of Ricci flows on orbifolds under some natural technical conditions. This generalizes the corresponding theorem on manifolds. As an application, we can use K\"ahler Ricci flow to find new K\"ahler Einstein metrics on some orbifold Fano surfaces. For example, if $Y$ is a cubic surface with only one ordinary double point or $Y$ is an orbifold Fano surface with degree 1 and every singularity on it is a rational double point of type $\A_k (1 \leq k \leq 6)$, then we can find a KE metric of $Y$ by running K\"ahler Ricci flow.

Abstract:We study Ricci flows on $R^n$, $n\ge 3$, that evolve from asymptotically flat initial data. Under mild conditions on the initial data, we show that the flow exists and remains asymptotically flat for an interval of time. The mass is constant in time along the flow. We then specialize to the case of rotationally symmetric, asymptotically flat initial data containing no embedded minimal hyperspheres. We show that in this case the flow is immortal, remains asymptotically flat, never develops a minimal hypersphere, and converges to flat Euclidean space as the time diverges to infinity. We discuss the behaviour of quasi-local mass under the flow, and relate this to a conjecture in string theory.
