Commencing with an overview of quantum computing fundamentals, including the principles of quantum mechanics and key quantum properties, the paper delves into the disruptive power of Shor's algorithm. This algorithm, capable of exponentially faster factorization than classical counterparts, poses a significant threat to prevalent cryptographic techniques such as RSA and ECC.
