Abstract:We solved the Poisson equations, obtaining their exact solution in elementary functions for the rotation matrix of a free asymmetrical body with angular velocity vector lying on separatrices. This allows us to discuss the temporal evolution of Dzhanibekov's nut directly in the Laboratory system, where it is observed. The rotation matrix depends on two parameters with clear physical interpretation as a frequency and a damping factor of the solution. Qualitative analysis of the solution shows that it properly describes a single-jump Dzhanibekov effect.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The paper attempts to address the behavior of an asymmetric rigid body in free rotation, specifically the analytical solution of its rotation matrix in the laboratory frame. Specifically, the paper focuses on how to obtain the exact analytical solution of the rotation matrix when the angular velocity vector lies on a separatrix. This issue is crucial for understanding the Dzhanibekov effect (also known as the tennis racket effect).
### Main Contributions of the Paper:
1. **Obtaining Analytical Solutions**: By solving the Poisson equation, the paper derives the exact analytical solution of the rotation matrix for an asymmetric rigid body, and these solutions can be expressed using elementary functions.
2. **Explanation of Physical Significance**: The paper discusses in detail the physical significance of the analytical solutions, particularly how they describe the phenomenon of a single flip in the Dzhanibekov effect.
3. **Parameter Analysis**: The analytical solutions depend on two parameters, which correspond to the frequency and damping factor of the solution, and these parameters have clear physical meanings.
### Background Introduction:
- **Dzhanibekov Effect**: This is a phenomenon where an asymmetric rigid body, when rotating around its intermediate inertia axis, suddenly changes its rotation direction. This phenomenon was first observed by V. A. Dzhanibekov in space.
- **Euler Equations**: These describe the evolution of the angular velocity of a rigid body, but these equations can usually only be solved in the form of elliptic integrals, making them difficult to use directly for analysis in the laboratory frame.
- **Poisson Equation**: This describes the evolution of the rotation matrix of a rigid body and needs to be solved in conjunction with the Euler equations.
### Solution:
- **Analytical Solutions under Special Initial Conditions**: The paper finds that under specific initial conditions, analytical solutions can be obtained for the angular velocity vector moving along the separatrix.
- **Construction of the Rotation Matrix**: By solving the Poisson equation, the paper derives the explicit form of the rotation matrix, which can describe the single flip behavior in the Dzhanibekov effect.
### Conclusion:
The paper successfully addresses the problem of the analytical solution of the rotation matrix for an asymmetric rigid body under specific initial conditions, and these solutions can accurately describe the Dzhanibekov effect. This achievement is not only theoretically significant but also provides a foundation for further research on similar phenomena.
