Abstract:A graph $G$ is $k$-factor-critical if $G-S$ has a perfect matching for any $k$-subset $S$ of the vertex set of $G$. In this paper, we investigate the factor-criticality of graphs with fixed minimum degree and provide sufficient conditions for such graphs to be $k$-factor-critical in terms of spectral radius and signless Laplacian spectral radius.

Spectral sufficient conditions are provided via spectral radius and signless Laplacian spectral radius for graphs with (i) a matching of given size (particularly, $1$-factor) containing any given edge, and (ii) a star factor with a component isomorphic to stars of order two or three containing any given edge, respectively.

Abstract:A graph is said to be k -factor-critical if deleting any of its k vertices results in a graph with a perfect matching. In this paper, we establish three sufficient conditions for a graph with given minimum degree to be k -factor-critical. Abstract:Let $G$ be a graph and $h: E(G)\rightarrow [0,1]$ be a function. For any two positive integers $a$ and $b$ with $a\leq b$, a fractional $[a,b]$-factor of $G$ with the indicator function $h$ is a spanning subgraph with vertex set $V(G)$ and edge set $E_h$ such that $a\leq\sum_{e\in E_{G}(v)}h(e)\leq b$ for any vertex $v\in V(G)$, where $E_h = \{e\in E(G)|h(e)>0\}$ and $E_{G}(v)=\{e\in E(G)| e~\mbox{is incident with}~v~\mbox{in}~G\}$. A graph $G$ is ID-factor-critical if for every independent set $I$ of $G$ whose size has the same parity as $|V(G)|$, $G-I$ has a perfect matching. In this paper, we present a tight sufficient condition based on the spectral radius for a graph to contain a fractional $[a,b]$-factor, which extends the result of Wei and Zhang [Discrete Math. 346 (2023) 113269]. Furthermore, we also prove a tight sufficient condition in terms of the spectral radius for a graph with minimum degree $\delta$ to be ID-factor-critical.

Abstract:For a set { A , B , C , ...} of graphs, an { A , B , C , ...}-factor of a graph G is a spanning subgraph F of G , where each component of F is contained in { A , B , C , ...}. It is very interesting to investigate the existence of factors in a graph with given minimum degree from the prospective of eigenvalues. We first propose a tight sufficient condition in terms of the Q -spectral radius for a graph involving minimum degree to contain a star factor. Moreover, we also present tight sufficient conditions based on the Q -spectral radius and the distance spectral radius for a graph involving minimum degree to guarantee the existence of a { K 2 , { C k }}-factor, respectively.

Abstract:Let G be a graph and be a set of connected graphs. A spanning subgraph H of G is called an –factor if each component of H is isomorphic to a member of . In this paper, we first present a lower bound on the size (resp. the spectral radius) of G to guarantee that G has a –factor (or a perfect k –matching for even k ) and construct extremal graphs to show all this bounds are best possible. We then provide a lower bound on the signless laplacian spectral radius of G to ensure that G has a –factor, where is an integer. Moreover, we also provide some Laplacian eigenvalue (resp. toughness) conditions for the existence of –factor, –factor and –factor in G , respectively. Some of our results extend or improve the related existing results.

Abstract:Let $D(G)=(d_{ij})_{n\times n}$ be the distance matrix of a graph $G$ of order $n$. The largest eigenvalue of $D(G)$, denoted by $\mu(G)$, is called the distance spectral radius of $G$. A fractional matching of $G$ is a function $f: E(G)\to [0,1]$ such that for any $v_i\in V(G)$, $\sum_{e\in E_G(v_i)}f(e)\le 1$, where $E_G(v_i)=\{e:e\in E(G) \ \textrm{and}\ e \ \textrm{is incident with} \ v_i\}$. Let $\alpha_f(G)$ denote the fractional matching number of $G$ which is defined as $\alpha_f(G)=\max\{\sum_{e\in E(G)}f(e): f\ \textrm{is a fractional matching of} \ G\}$. In this paper, we establish a sharp upper bound for the distance spectral radius to guarantee $\alpha_f(G)>\frac{n-k}{2}$ in graph $G$ with given minimum degree $\delta$. Let $\{G_1,G_2,G_3,\cdots\}$ be a set of graphs, an $\{G_1,G_2,G_3,\cdots\}$-factor of a graph $G$ is a spanning subgraph of $G$ such that each component of which is isomorphic to one of $\{G_1,G_2,G_3,\cdots\}$. In this paper, we give a sharp upper bound on distance spectral radius of graph $G$ with given minimum degree $\delta$ to ensure that $G$ has a $\{K_2, C_k\}$-factor, where $k\ge3$ is an integer. In addition, we also obtain a sharp upper bound on distance spectral radius for the existence of a $\{K_{1,1},K_{1,2},\cdots,K_{1,k}\}$-factor with $k\ge2$ in a graph $G$ with given minimum degree $\delta$.

Abstract:Let $a\leq b$ be two positive integers. We say that a graph $G$ has all $[a,b]$-factors if it has an $h$-factor for every function $h: V(G)\rightarrow \mathbb{Z}^+$ such that $a\le h(v) \le b$ for all $v\in V(G)$ and $\sum_{v\in V(G)}h(v)\equiv 0\pmod 2$, and has all fractional $[a,b]$-factors if it has a fractional $p$-factor for every $p: V(G) \rightarrow \mathbb{Z}^+$ such that $a\le p(v)\le b$ for all $v\in V(G)$. In this paper, we provide tight spectral radius conditions for graphs having all $[a,b]$-factors ($3\leq a<b$) and all fractional $[a,b]$-factors ($1\leq a<b$), respectively.

The minimum degree of minimal $k$-factor-critical claw-free graphs*

Abstract:A graph $G$ of order $n$ is said to be $k$-factor-critical for integers $1\leq k< n$, if the removal of any $k$ vertices results in a graph with a perfect matching. A $k$-factor-critical graph is minimal if for every edge, the deletion of it results in a graph that is not $k$-factor-critical. In 1998, O. Favaron and M. Shi conjectured that every minimal $k$-factor-critical graph has minimum degree $k+1$. In this paper, we confirm the conjecture for minimal $k$-factor-critical claw-free graphs. Moreover, we show that every minimal $k$-factor-critical claw-free graph $G$ has at least $\frac{k-1}{2k}|V(G)|$ vertices of degree $k+1$ in the case of $(k+1)$-connected, yielding further evidence for S. Norine and R. Thomas' conjecture on the minimum degree of minimal bricks when $k=2$.

Abstract:A spanning subgraph $H$ of a graph $G$ is called a $P_{\geq k}$-factor of $G$ if every component of $H$ is isomorphic to a path of order at least $k$, where $k\geq2$ is an integer. A graph $G$ is called a $(P_{\geq k},l)$-factor critical graph if $G-V'$ contains a $P_{\geq k}$-factor for any $V'\subseteq V(G)$ with $|V'|=l$. A graph $G$ is called a $(P_{\geq k},m)$-factor deleted graph if $G-E'$ has a $P_{\geq k}$-factor for any $E'\subseteq E(G)$ with $|E'|=m$. Intuitively, if a graph is dense enough, it will have a $P_{\geq 3}$-factor. In this paper, we give some sufficient conditions for a graph to be a $(P_{\geq 3},l)$-factor critical graph or a $(P_{\geq 3},m)$-factor deleted graph. In this paper, we demonstrate that (i) $G$ is a $(P_{\geq 3},l)$-factor critical graph if its sun toughness $s(G)>\frac{l+1}{3}$ and $\kappa(G)\geq l+2$. (ii) $G$ is a $(P_{\geq 3},l)$-factor critical graph if its degree sum $\sigma_3(G)\geq n+2l$ and $\kappa(G)\geq l+1$. (iii) $G$ is a $(P_{\geq 3},m)$-factor deleted graph if its sun toughness $s(G)\geq \frac{m+1}{m+2}$ and $\kappa(G)\geq 2m+1$. (iv) $G$ is a $(P_{\geq 3},m)$-factor deleted graph if its degree sum $\sigma_3(G)\geq n+2m$ and $\kappa(G)\geq 2m+1$.

Abstract:A graph of order $n$ is $p$-factor-critical, where $p$ is an integer of the same parity as $n$, if the removal of any set of $p$ vertices results in a graph with a perfect matching. 1-Factor-critical graphs and 2-factor-critical graphs are factor-critical graphs and bicritical graphs, respectively. It is well known that every connected vertex-transitive graph of odd order is factor-critical and every connected non-bipartite vertex-transitive graph of even order is bicritical. In this paper, we show that a simple connected vertex-transitive graph of odd order at least 5 is 3-factor-critical if and only if it is not a cycle.

Abstract:Let $G$ denote a graph and $k\geq2$ be an integer. A $\{K_{1,1},K_{1,2},\ldots,K_{1,k},\mathcal{T}(2k+1)\}$-factor of $G$ is a spanning subgraph, whose every connected component is isomorphic to an element of $\{K_{1,1},K_{1,2},\ldots,K_{1,k},\mathcal{T}(2k+1)\}$, where $\mathcal{T}(2k+1)$ is one special family of tree. In this paper, we put forward some sufficient conditions for the existence of $\{K_{1,1},K_{1,2},\ldots,K_{1,k},\mathcal{T}(2k+1)\}$-factors in graphs. Furthermore, we construct some extremal graphs to show that the main results in this paper are best possible.

Abstract:A spannning subgraph $F$ of $G$ is a $\{K_2,C_n\}$-factor if each component of $F$ is either $K_{2}$ or $C_{n}$. A graph $G$ is called a $(\{K_2,C_n\},n)$-factor critical avoidable graph if $G-X-e$ has a $\{K_2,C_n\}$-factor for any $S\subseteq V(G)$ with $|X|=n$ and $e\in E(G-X)$. In this paper, we first obtain a sufficient condition with regard to isolated toughness of a graph $G$ such that $G$ is $\{K_2,C_{n}\}$-factor critical avoidable. In addition, we give a sufficient condition with regard to tight toughness and isolated toughness of a graph $G$ such that $G$ is $\{K_2,C_{2i+1}|i \geqslant 2\}$-factor critical avoidable respectively.

Abstract:Let A be a set of connected graphs. Then a spanning subgraph A of G is called an A-factor if each component of A is isomorphic to some member of A. Especially, when every graph in A is a path, A is a path factor. For a positive integer d ≥ 2, we write P≥d = {Pi|i ≥ d}. Then a P≥d-factor means a path factor in which every component admits at least d vertices. A graph G is called a (P≥d,m)-factor deleted graph if G – E′ admits a P≥d-factor for any E′ ⊆ E(G) with |E′| = m. A graph G is called a (P≥d, k)-factor critical graph if G – Q has a P≥d-factor for any Q ⊆ V (G) with |Q| = k. In this paper, we present two degree conditions for graphs to be (P≥3,m)-factor deleted graphs and (P≥3, k)-factor critical graphs. Furthermore, we show that the two results are best possible in some sense.

Abstract:The binding number $b(G)$ of a graph $G$ is the minimum value of $|N_{G}(X)|/|X|$ taken over all non-empty subsets $X$ of $V(G)$ such that $N_{G}(X)\neq V(G)$. The association between the binding number and toughness is intricately interconnected, as both metrics function as pivotal indicators for quantifying the vulnerability of a graph. The Brouwer-Gu Theorem asserts that for any $d$-regular connected graph $G$, the toughness $t(G)$ always at least $\frac{d}{\lambda}-1$, where $\lambda$ denotes the second largest absolute eigenvalue of the adjacency matrix. Inspired by the work of Brouwer and Gu, in this paper, we investigate $b(G)$ from spectral perspectives, and provide tight sufficient conditions in terms of the spectral radius of a graph $G$ to guarantee $b(G)\geq r$. The study of the existence of $k$-factors in graphs is a classic problem in graph theory. Katerinis and Woodall state that every graph with order $n\geq 4k-6$ satisfying $b(G)\geq 2$ contains a $k$-factor where $k\geq 2$. This leaves the following question: which $1$-binding graphs have a $k$-factor? In this paper, we also provide the spectral radius conditions of $1$-binding graphs to contain a perfect matching and a $2$-factor, respectively.

Abstract:Let G be a graph, and let k, r be nonnegative integers with k ≥ 2. A k-factor of G is a spanning subgraph F of G such that dF(x) = k for each x ∈ V (G), where dF(x) denotes the degree of x in F. For S ⊆ V (G), NG(S) = ∪x∊SNG(x). The binding number of G is defined by bind(G)=min{|NG(S)||S|:∅≠S⊂V(G),NG(S)≠V(G)}$\begin{array}{} (G) = {\rm{min }}\{ \frac{{|{N_G}(S)|}}{{|S|}}:\emptyset \ne S \subset V(G),{N_G}(S) \ne V(G)\} \end{array}$. In this paper, we obtain a binding number and neighborhood condition for a graph to have a k-factor excluding a given r-factor. This result is an extension of the previous results.

Then a spanning subgraph F of G is called a (g, f)-factor if g(x) <= d(F)(x) <= f(x) holds for each x is an element of V(G). A graph G is said to be (g, f, n)-critical if G - N has a (g, f)-factor for each N subset of V (G) with vertical bar N vertical bar = n. In this paper, we obtain an independence number and minimum degree condition for a graph C to be a (g, f, n)-critical graph. Morcover, it is showed that the result in this paper is best possible in some sense.

Abstract:A $k$-tree is a spanning tree in which every vertex has degree at most $k$. In this paper, we provide a sufficient condition for the existence of a $k$-tree in a connected graph with fixed order in terms of the adjacency spectral radius and the signless Laplacian spectral radius, respectively. Also, we give a similar condition for the existence of a perfect matching in a balanced bipartite graph with fixed order and minimum degree.

Abstract:Let G a graph of order n, and k >= 1 an integer. Let h: E(G) -> [0,1] be a function. If Sigma(e epsilon x)h(e) = k holds for each x is an element of V(G), we call G[F-h] a fractional k-factor of G with indicator functional h where F-h = {e is an element of E(G) : h(e) > 0}. In this paper, it is proved that G has a fractional k-factor including any given edge if G satisfies n >= 4k - 3, delta(G) >= k and and d(G)(x)+d(G)(y) >= n+ 1 for each pair of nonadjacent vertices x, y of G. Furthermore, it is showed that the result in this paper is best possible in some sense.
