Abstract:The methods of QCD sum rules and light-cone sum rules within the framework of heavy quark effective theory have been widely applied to study the singly heavy baryons, and especially, we have applied these methods to predict not only the mass and width of the $\Xi_b(6087)^0$ recently discovered by LHCb, but also its observation channel and its mass difference from the $\Xi_b(6100)^-$. We apply the same approach to perform a complete study on the $P$-wave bottom baryons of the $SU(3)$ flavor $\mathbf{\bar 3}_F$ and investigate their fine structure. Besides the $\Lambda_b(5912)^0$, $\Lambda_b(5920)^0$, $\Xi_b(6087)^0$, and $\Xi_b(6100)^-$, our results suggest the existence of the other two $\Lambda_b$ and two $\Xi_b$ baryons, whose widths are limited. They are the $\Lambda_b(J^P = 3/2^-)$ with the mass and width about $(5.93^{+0.13}_{-0.13}~{\rm GeV},\,0.0^{+12.0}_{-~0.0}~{\rm MeV})$, the $\Lambda_b(5/2^-)$ with $(5.94^{+0.13}_{-0.13}~{\rm GeV},\,\approx0~{\rm MeV})$, the $\Xi_b(3/2^-)$ with $(6.10^{+0.15}_{-0.10}~{\rm GeV},\,1.4{^{+11.6}_{-~1.4}}~{\rm MeV})$, and the $\Xi_b(5/2^-)$ with $(6.11^{+0.15}_{-0.10}~{\rm GeV},\,1.0{^{+7.4}_{-1.0}}~{\rm MeV})$. Their mass splittings are calculated to be $M_{\Lambda_b(5/2^-)} - M_{\Lambda_b(3/2^-)} = 17\pm7~{\rm MeV}$ and $M_{\Xi_b(5/2^-)} - M_{\Xi_b(3/2^-)} = 14\pm7~{\rm MeV}$. All these baryons are explained as the $P$-wave bottom baryons of the $\rho$-mode, where the orbital excitation is between the two light quarks. However, the existence of this mode is still controversial, so their experimental searches can verify both our approach and the existence of the $\rho$-mode, which can significantly improve our understanding on the internal structure of hadrons.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problems that this paper attempts to solve mainly focus on the relationship between theoretical predictions and experimental observations of baryon systems containing a single heavy quark (bottom quark). Specifically, the paper focuses on the following aspects: 1. **Predicting new particles**: Using quantum chromodynamics (QCD) sum rules and light - cone sum rules, within the framework of the heavy - quark effective theory, the paper predicts the masses, widths, and possible decay channels of two new Λb baryons and two new Ξb baryons. These predictions are based on the properties of known P - wave bottom baryons (such as Λb(5912)0, Λb(5920)0, Ξb(6087)0, and Ξb(6100)−). 2. **Verifying theoretical models**: By predicting the properties of these new particles, the paper aims to verify whether the methods and models it adopts can accurately describe the internal structure and dynamic behavior of P - wave bottom baryons. In particular, the paper explores whether these baryons can be classified as orbital excited states of the ρ mode, that is, the orbital excitation between light quarks. 3. **Interpreting experimental data**: The paper attempts to interpret some new baryons discovered in recent years in experiments such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), for example, Ξb(6100)− discovered by the CMS collaboration and Ξb(6087)0 discovered by the LHCb collaboration. Through theoretical calculations, the paper verifies these experimental results and further predicts other potentially existing baryons. 4. **Exploring internal structure**: Through theoretical research on these baryons, the paper hopes to gain a deeper understanding of how strong interactions affect the internal structure of baryons, especially how light quarks and gluons move around a stationary bottom quark to form a quantum chromodynamics (QCD) analog system similar to a hydrogen atom. ### Formula Summary The paper uses some key formulas to calculate the mass spectra and decay properties of baryons: - **Mass Spectrum Formula**: \[ m_J = m_b+\Lambda+\delta m_J \] where: - \(m_b\) is the mass of the bottom quark. - \(\Lambda\) is the result of the QCD sum rule at the leading order. - \(\delta m_J\) is the result of the QCD sum rule at the \(O(1/m_b)\) order, and its expression is: \[ \delta m_J =-\frac{1}{2m_b}(K + d_J C_{\text{mag}}\Sigma) \] - \(K\) and \(\Sigma\) represent the non - relativistic kinetic energy operator and the chromomagnetic interaction operator respectively. - \(C_{\text{mag}}=\left(\frac{\alpha_s(m_b)}{\alpha_s(\mu)}\right)^{3/\beta_0}\), where \(\beta_0 = 11-\frac{2n_f}{3}\). - \(d_J\) is defined as: \[ d_J=\begin{cases} 2j_l + 2&\text{if }J = j_l-\frac{1}{2}\\ -2j_l&\text{if }J = j_l+\frac{1}{2} \end{cases} \] - **Decay Properties**: The paper uses light - cone sum rules to calculate the properties of two - body and three - body S - wave decays and two - body D - wave decays of these baryons to ground - state bottom baryons and light pseudoscalar mesons. ### Conclusion Through detailed theoretical calculations and model verification, the paper not only successfully interprets the known P - wave bottom baryons but also predicts new baryons, providing a clear direction for future experiments. These studies help to deepen our understanding of the internal structure of baryons and strong interactions.
