Abstract:We study some properties of pointwise $k$-slant submanifolds of almost Hermitian manifolds with a special view towards Kähler manifolds. In particular, we characterize the integrability of the component distributions, treating also the totally geodesic case.

Abstract:The authors consider ±(Φ, J)-holomorphic maps from Sasakian manifolds into Kähler manifolds, which can be seen as counterparts of holomorphic maps in Kähler geometry. It is proved that those maps must be harmonic and basic. Then a Schwarz lemma for those maps is obtained. On the other hand, an invariant in its basic homotopic class is obtained. Moreover, the invariant is just held in the class of basic maps.

Abstract:We study immersions of pointwise bi-slant submanifolds of locally conformal Kähler manifolds as warped products. In particular, we establish characterisation theorem for a pointwise bi-slant submanifold of a locally conformal Kähler manifold to be immersed as a warped product and show that a necessary condition is that the Lee vector field $B$ is orthogonal to the second factor and the warping function $\lambda$ satisfies $\text{grad}(\ln\lambda)=\frac{1}{2}B^T$, where $B^T$ denotes the tangential part of the Lee vector field. We also extend Chen's inequality for the squared length of the second fundamental form to our case and study the corresponding equality case.

Abstract:In this article, we study Conformal pointwise-slant Riemannian maps ( CPSRM ) from or to Kähler manifolds to or from Riemannian manifolds. To check the existence of such maps, we provide some non-trivial examples. We derive some important results for these maps. We discuss the integrability and totally geodesicness of the distributions. Further, we investigate the conditions for homotheticity and harmonicity of these maps. Finally, we study some inequalities for these maps.

Abstract:Given a polarized Kähler manifold (X,L). The space ℋ of Kähler metrics in $$ 2_\Pi {c_1}{(L)}$$ is an infinite-dimensional Riemannian symmetric space. As a metric space, it has non-positive curvature. There is associated to ℋ a sequence of finite-dimensional symmetric spaces $$ \mathcal{B}_{k}{({k}\, \epsilon \,\mathbb{N})} $$ of non-compact Type. We prove that ℋ is the limit of $$ \mathcal{B}_{k} $$ as metric spaces in certain sense. As applications, this provides more geometric proofs of certain known geometric properties of the space ℋ.

Abstract:The geometry of submanifolds in Kähler manifolds is an important research topic. In the present paper, we study submanifolds in complex space forms admitting a semi-symmetric non-metric connection. We prove the Chen–Ricci inequality, Chen basic inequality, and a generalized Euler inequality for such submanifolds. These inequalities provide estimations of the mean curvature (the main extrinsic invariants) in terms of intrinsic invariants: Ricci curvature, the Chen invariant, and scalar curvature. In the proofs, we use the sectional curvature of a semi-symmetric, non-metric connection recently defined by A. Mihai and the first author, as well as its properties.

Abstract:A $p$-Kähler structure on a complex manifold of complex dimension $n$ is given by a $d$-closed transverse real $(p,p)$-form. In the paper we study the existence of $p$-Kähler structures on compact quotients of simply connected Lie groups by discrete subgroups endowed with an invariant complex structure. In particular, we discuss the existence of $p$-Kähler structures on nilmanifolds, with a focus on the case $p =2$ and complex dimension $n = 4$. Moreover, we prove that a $(n-2)$-Kähler almost abelian solvmanifold of complex dimension $n\geq3$ has to be Kähler.

Abstract:ABSTRACT Let $(M,I,J,K,\Omega)$ be a compact HKT manifold, and let us denote with $\partial$ the conjugate Dolbeault operator with respect to I, $\partial_J:=J^{-1}\overline\partial J$, $\partial^\Lambda:=[\partial,\Lambda]$, where Λ is the adjoint of $L:=\Omega\wedge-$. Under suitable assumptions, we study Hodge theory for the complexes $(A^{\bullet,0},\partial,\partial_J)$ and $(A^{\bullet,0},\partial,\partial^\Lambda)$ showing a similar behavior to Kähler manifolds. In particular, several relations among the Laplacians, the spaces of harmonic forms and the associated cohomology groups, together with Hard Lefschetz properties, are proved. Moreover, we show that for a compact HKT $\mathrm{SL}(n,\mathbb{H})$-manifold, the differential graded algebra $(A^{\bullet,0},\partial)$ is formal and this will lead to an obstruction for the existence of an HKT $\mathrm{SL}(n,\mathbb{H})$ structure $(I,J,K,\Omega)$ on a compact complex manifold (M, I). Finally, balanced HKT structures on solvmanifolds are studied.

Clairaut slant Riemannian maps to Kähler manifolds

Abstract:The aim of this article is to describe the idea of Clairaut slant Riemannian maps from Riemannian manifolds to Kähler manifolds. First, for the slant Riemannian map, we obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for a curve to be a geodesic on the base manifold. Further, we find the necessary and sufficient conditions for the slant Riemannian map to be a Clairaut slant Riemannian map; for Clairaut slant Riemannian map to be totally geodesic; for the base manifold to be a locally product manifold. Further, we obtain the necessary and sufficient condition for the integrability of range of derivative map. Also, we investigate the harmonicity of Clairaut slant Riemannian map. Finally, we get two inequalities in terms of second fundamental form of a Clairaut slant Riemannian map and check the equality case.

Abstract:In 2022, the notion of pointwise slant Riemannian maps were introduced by Y. Gündüzalp and M. A. Akyol in [J. Geom. Phys. {179}, 104589, 2022] as a natural generalization of slant Riemannian maps, slant Riemannian submersions, slant submanifolds. As a generalization of pointwise slant Riemannian maps and many subclasses notions, we introduce pointwise hemi-slant Riemannian maps (briefly, ) from almost Hermitian manifolds to Riemannian manifolds, giving a figure which shows the subclasses of the map and a non-trivial (proper) example and investigate some properties of the map, we deal with their properties: the J-pluriharmonicity, the J-invariant, and the totally geodesicness of the map. Finally, we study some curvature relations in complex space form, involving Chen inequalities and Casorati curvatures for , respectively.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider minimal L 2 integrals on the sublevel sets of plurisubharmonic functions on weakly pseudoconvex Kähler manifolds with Lebesgue measurable gain related to modules at boundary points of the sublevel sets, and establish a concavity property of the minimal L 2 integrals. As applications, we present a necessary condition for the concavity degenerating to linearity, a concavity property related to modules at inner points of the sublevel sets, an optimal support function related to modules, a strong openness property of modules and a twisted version, and an effectiveness result of the strong openness property of modules.

Abstract:Let $(M, g)$ be a compact real analytic Riemannian manifold and $\pi \colon \widetilde{M} \to M$ its universal cover. Assume that $\widetilde{M}$ can be realised as a manifold definable in an o-minimal structure $\Sigma$ expanding $\mathbb{R}_{\mathrm{an}}$ in such a way that the pullback metric $\widetilde{g}:=\pi^*g$ is $\Sigma$-definable. For instance, this is the case when $\widetilde{M}$ can be realised as a semi-algebraic submanifold in $\mathbb{R}^n$ in such a way that the coefficients of the metric $\widetilde{g}$ are semi-algebraic. We show that there exists a definable smooth map $\widetilde{M} \to \widetilde{K}$ to a compact simply connected $\Sigma$-definable space $\widetilde{K}$ such that its regular fibres are Riemann locally homogeneous with respect to the metric $\widetilde{g}$. We deduce that under these assumptions $\pi_1(M)$ is quasi-isometric to a locally homogeneous space. In the case when $M$ is aspherical we show that $(\widetilde{M}, \widetilde{g})$ is a homogeneous Riemannian manifold. A similar result in the setting of complex algebraic geometry was earlier conjectured by Kollár and Pardon (\cite{KP}). Using our results, we prove the conjecture of Kollár-Pardon in the special case of smooth aspherical varieties admitting a bi-definable Kähler metric and discuss the analogues of this conjecture in other branches of geometry.

Kähler manifolds with an almost $1/4$-pinched metric

Abstract:In this paper we construct an almost negatively $1/4$-pinched Riemannian metric on a class of compact manifolds recently discovered by Stover and Toledo in [17]. It is known that these manifolds are Kähler and not locally symmetric. These are the first known examples of not locally symmetric Kähler manifolds admitting such a metric and, via the result of Hernandez [9] and Yau and Zheng [18], these manifolds cannot admit a negatively quarter-pinched Riemannian metric. This metric is also interesting because it is a generalization to the complex hyperbolic setting of the famous pinched metric constructed by Gromov and Thurston in [8].

On the structure of compact Kähler manifolds with nonnegative holomorphic sectional curvature

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a "pseudo-effective" version of the holonomy principle for compact Kähler manifolds with nonnegative holomorphic sectional curvature. As applications, we prove that if a compact complex manifold $M$ admits a Kähler metric $\omega$ with nonnegative holomorphic sectional curvature and $(M,\omega)$ has no nonzero truly flat tangent vector at some point (which is satisfied when the holomorphic sectional curvature is quasi-positive), then $M$ must be projective and rationally connected. This answers a problem raised by Matsumura and Yang and extends Yau's conjecture. We also prove that a compact simply connected Kähler manifold with nonnegative holomorphic sectional curvature is projective and rationally connected. Additionally, we classify non-projective Kähler 3-dimensional manifolds with nonnegative holomorphic sectional curvature. Furthermore, we show that a compact Kähler manifold admits a Hermitian metric with positive real bisectional curvature is a projective and rationally connected manifold.

Abstract:International Journal of Mathematics, Ahead of Print. Given a compact almost complex manifold [math], the almost complex invariant [math] is defined as the complex dimension of the cohomology space [math]. Its properties have been studied mainly when [math]. If we endow [math] with an almost Hermitian metric [math], then the number [math], i.e. the complex dimension of the space of Hodge–de Rham harmonic [math]-forms, does not depend on the choice of almost Kähler metrics when [math]. In this paper, we study the relationship between [math] and [math] in dimension [math]. We prove [math] if [math] is non-integrable and observe that [math] if the metric is almost Kähler. If [math] is a compact quotient of a completely solvable Lie group and [math] is a left-invariant almost Kähler structure on [math], we prove [math]. Finally, we study the [math]-pure and [math]-full properties of [math] on [math]-forms for the special dimension [math].

Abstract:Inspired by the work of Lu and Tian (Duke Math J 125(2):351–387, 2004), in this paper we address the problem of studying those Kähler manifolds satisfying the (Delta)-property, i.e. such that on a neighborhood of each of its points the kth power of the Kähler Laplacian is a polynomial function of the complex Euclidean Laplacian, for all positive integer k (see below for its definition). We prove two results: (1) if a Kähler manifold satisfies the (Delta)-property then its curvature tensor is parallel; (2) if an Hermitian symmetric space of classical type satisfies the (Delta)-property then it is a complex space form (namely it has constant holomorphic sectional curvature). In view of these results we believe that if a Kähler manifold satisfies the (Delta)-property then it is a complex space form.
