Abstract:For the case of algebraic curves - compact Riemann surfaces - it is shown that de Rham cohomology group $H^{1}_{\mathrm{dR}}(X,\mathbb{C})$ of a genus $g$ Riemann surface $X$ has a natural structure of a symplectic vector space. Every choice of a non-special effective divisor $D$ of degree $g$ on $X$ defines a symplectic basis of $H^{1}_{\mathrm{dR}}(X,\mathbb{C})$, consisting of holomorphic differentials and differentials of the second kind with poles on $D$. This result, the algebraic de Rham theorem, is used to describe the tangent space to Picard and Jacobian varieties of $X$ in terms of differentials of the second kind, and to define a natural vector fields on the Jacobian of $X$ that move points of the divisor $D$. In terms of the Lax formalism on algebraic curves, these vector fields correspond to the Dubrovin equations in the theory of integrable systems, and the Baker-Akhierzer function is naturally obtained by the integration along the integral curves.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problems that this paper attempts to solve mainly focus on the structure of the de Rham cohomology group \(H^1_{dR}(X, \mathbb{C})\) on algebraic curves (i.e., compact Riemann surfaces) and its relationship with Picard and Jacobian varieties. Specifically, the authors show that for a Riemann surface \(X\) of genus \(g\), its de Rham cohomology group \(H^1_{dR}(X, \mathbb{C})\) has a natural symplectic vector space structure. Every non - special effective divisor \(D\) (of degree \(g\)) defines a symplectic basis of \(H^1_{dR}(X, \mathbb{C})\), which consists of holomorphic differentials and second - kind differentials with poles on \(D\). Through this result, namely the algebraic de Rham theorem, the authors further describe the tangent spaces of Picard and Jacobian varieties and define natural vector fields on the Jacobian. These vector fields can move the points of the divisor \(D\). Moreover, these vector fields correspond to the Dubrovin equations in the Lax formalization on algebraic curves and are of great significance in the theory of integrable systems. Finally, through integration along integral curves, the Baker - Akhiezer function is naturally obtained, which is a very important object in the study of integrable systems. In summary, the core problems of this paper are: - To study the structure of the de Rham cohomology group of algebraic curves. - To describe the tangent spaces of Picard and Jacobian varieties. - To define the natural vector fields on the Jacobian and their connection with integrable systems. - To explore the construction of the Baker - Akhiezer function and its role in integrable systems.
