Abstract:Based on the freely-falling Unruh-Dewitt model, we study the influence of gravitational waves on the quantum multibody states, i.e. the twin-Fock (TF) state and the mixture of Dicke states. The amount of entanglement of quantum many-body states decreases first and then increases with increasing frequency of gravitational waves. In particular, for some fixed frequencies of gravitational waves, entanglement will increase with the increasing amplitude of gravitational waves, which is different from the usual thought of gravity-induced decoherence and could provide a novel understanding for the quantum property of gravitational waves.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The paper aims to study the impact of gravitational waves on quantum many-body states (especially two-mode Fock states (TF states) and Dicke state mixtures) and explore the possibility of using these quantum many-body states to detect gravitational waves. The main research contents include: 1. **The impact of gravitational waves on the entanglement of quantum many-body states**: - The study found that the entanglement of quantum many-body states (such as TF states) in the background of gravitational waves decreases first and then increases with the increase of gravitational wave frequency. - For certain specific frequencies of gravitational waves, when the amplitude of the gravitational wave increases, quantum entanglement is enhanced, which is different from the traditional view of gravitationally induced decoherence. 2. **Theoretical model and calculations**: - The Unruh-Dewitt detector model is used to study the evolution of a single atom in the background of gravitational waves. - The spin-squeezing parameter of the TF state affected by gravitational waves is calculated, and its trend with the change of gravitational wave frequency and amplitude is demonstrated. 3. **Feasibility analysis of experiments**: - The paper also explores the experimental possibility of using TF states or mixed Dicke states for gravitational wave detection. - It is found that under actual experimental conditions, the spin-squeezing changes caused by gravitational waves are very small and difficult to observe directly. - It is proposed that increasing the number of atoms or enhancing the initial entanglement of the quantum state can significantly improve the detection sensitivity. In summary, the paper reveals a novel interaction mechanism between gravitational waves and quantum many-body systems and provides theoretical guidance for future experimental designs.
