In this study, the Markov constant has an essential meaning. It has already appeared in some previous works for skew-symmetric matrices.

Abstract:For a rooted cluster algebra $\mathcal{A}(Q)$ over a valued quiver $Q$, a \emph{symmetric cluster variable} is any cluster variable belonging to a cluster associated with a quiver $\sigma (Q)$, for some permutation $\sigma$. The subalgebra of $\mathcal{A}(Q)$ generated by all symmetric cluster variables is called the \emph{symmetric mutation subalgebra} and is denoted by $\mathcal{B}(Q)$. In this paper we identify the class of cluster algebras that satisfy $\mathcal{B}(Q)=\mathcal{A}(Q)$, which contains almost every quiver of finite mutation type. In the process of proving the main theorem, we provide a classification of quivers mutation classes based on their weights. Some properties of symmetric mutation subalgebras are given.

Abstract:Let Q̃ (resp. Q) be an extended exchange (resp. exchange) cluster quiver of finite mutation type. We introduce the distribution set of the numbers of arrows for Mut[Q̃] (resp. Mut[Q]), give the maximum and minimum numbers of the distribution set and establish the existence of an extended complete walk (resp. a complete walk). As a consequence, we prove that the distribution set for Mut[Q̃] (resp. Mut[Q]) is continuous except in the case of exceptional cluster algebras. In case of cluster quivers Q_inf of infinite mutation type, the distribution set for Mut[Q_inf] in general is not continuous. Besides, we show that the maximal number of arrows of quivers in Mut[Q_inf] is infinite if and only if the maximal number of arrows between any two vertices of a quiver in Mut[Q_inf] is infinite.

Abstract:Journal of Algebra and Its Applications, Ahead of Print. Cluster algebras, introduced by Fomin and Zelevinsky, are connected to dual canonical bases. Geometric realization is an effective way to solve algebraic problems. In 2002, Fomin and Zelevinsky proposed geometric realizations for root systems and finite-type cluster algebras. This study examines the regulation of mutation in geometric realization. We establish a fascinating link between centrally symmetric triangulations and quivers in classical cluster algebras, showing that these triangulations and quivers are interchangeable under mutation. This connection leads to a significant finding: any cluster variable of a given cluster algebra can induce a connected subquiver within the corresponding initial quiver. Furthermore, we demonstrate that any two quivers generated by cluster variables intersect, emphasizing their connectedness. To illustrate the practical implications of this geometric realization, we present a convenient method to compute seed mutations of type [math] and define a category based on centrally symmetric triangulations. This category's objects are [math]-linear combinations of positive roots of the root system of type [math], and we propose an equivalent condition for morphisms. This condition is a generalization of the case of type [math] by [P. Caldero, F. Chapoton and R. Schiffler, Quivers with relations arising from clusters [math] case), Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 358(3) (2006) 1347–1364]. Finally, we propose a geometric realization for cluster algebras: weighted triangulations. This approach does not require cluster algebras to be of finite type and can verify whether a matrix from a cluster algebra is equivalent to a subdiagonal matrix.

Abstract:We define three families of quivers in which the braid relations of the symmetric group $S_n$ are realized by mutations and automorphisms. A sequence of eight braid moves on a reduced word for the longest element of $S_4$ yields three trivial cluster transformations with 8, 32 and 32 mutations. For each of these cluster transformations, a unitary operator representing a single braid move in a quantum mechanical system solves the tetrahedron equation. The solutions thus obtained are constructed from the noncompact quantum dilogarithm and can be identified with the partition functions of three-dimensional $\mathcal{N} = 2$ supersymmetric gauge theories on a squashed three-sphere.

Abstract:Motivated by the recent work of R. Casals on binary invariants for matrix mutation, we study the matrix congruence relation on quasi-Cartan matrices. We obtain a classification and determine normal forms modulo 4. We also establish their mutation invariance properties. In particular, we obtain new mutation invariants, which include the one obtained by R. Casals.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the distribution of the genuses of cluster quivers of finite mutation type. First, we prove that in the $11$ exceptional cases, the distribution of genuses is $0$ or $1$. Next, we consider the relationship between the genus of an oriented surface and that of cluster quivers from this surface. It is verified that the genus of an oriented surface is an upper bound for the genuses of cluster quivers from this surface. Furthermore, for any non-negative integer $n$ and a closed oriented surface of genus $n$, we show that there always exist a set of punctures and a triangulation of this surface such that the corresponding cluster quiver from this triangulation is exactly of genus $n$.

Abstract:The cluster algebra associated with an acyclic quiver has a special mutation loop $\tau$, called the cluster Donaldson--Thomas (DT) transformation, related to the Auslander--Reiten translation. In this paper, we characterize the finite-tame-wild trichotomy for acyclic quivers by the sign stability of $\tau$ introduced in [IK21] and its cluster stretch factor. As an application, we compute several kinds of entropies of $\tau$ and other mutation loops. In particular, we show that the algebraic and categorical entropies of $\tau$ are commonly given by the logarithm of the spectral radius of the Coxeter matrix associated with the quiver, and that any mutation loop of finite or tame acyclic quivers have zero algebraic entropy.

On the geometry of four qubit invariants

Abstract:The geometry of four-qubit entanglement is investigated. We replace some of the polynomial invariants for four-qubits introduced recently by new ones of direct geometrical meaning. It is shown that these invariants describe four points, six lines and four planes in complex projective space ${\bf CP}^3$. For the generic entanglement class of stochastic local operations and classical communication they take a very simple form related to the elementary symmetric polynomials in four complex variables. Moreover, their magnitudes are entanglement monotones that fit nicely into the geometric set of $n$-qubit ones related to Grassmannians of $l$-planes found recently. We also show that in terms of these invariants the hyperdeterminant of order 24 in the four-qubit amplitudes takes a more instructive form than the previously published expressions available in the literature. Finally in order to understand two, three and four-qubit entanglement in geometric terms we propose a unified setting based on ${\bf CP}^3$ furnished with a fixed quadric.

Skein valued cluster transformation in enumerative geometry of Legendrian mutation

Abstract:Under certain hypotheses, we show that Legendrian surfaces related by disk surgery will have q-deformed augmentation spaces that are related by q-deformed cluster transformation. The proof is geometric, via considerations of moduli of holomorphic curves. In fact, our results naturally give a more general HOMFLYPT "skein-valued cluster transformation", of which the q-cluster transformation is the U(1) specialization. We apply our methods to the Legendrians associated to cubic planar graphs, where mutation of graphs lifts to Legendrian disk surgery. We show that their skein-valued mirrors transform by skein-valued cluster transformation, and give a formula for the skein-valued curve counts on their fillings.

Abstract:For a quiver with non-degenerate potential, we study the associated stability scattering diagram and how it changes under mutations. We show that under mutations the stability scattering diagram behaves like the cluster scattering diagram associated to the same quiver, which gives them identical cluster chamber structures. As an application, we prove if the quiver has a green-to-red sequence, these two scattering diagrams are identical and if the quiver comes from a once-punctured torus, they differ by a central wall-crossing. This verifies in those cases a conjecture of Kontsevich-Soibelman that a particular set of initial data given by a quiver determines the Donaldson-Thomas series of the quiver with a non-degenerate potential.

Abstract:The theory of Caldero-Chapoton algebras of Cerulli-Irelli, Labardini-Fragoso and Schroer leads to a refinement of the notions of cluster variables and clusters, via so called component clusters. In this paper we compare component clusters to classical clusters for the cluster algebra of an acyclic quiver. We propose a definition of mutation between component clusters and determine the mutation relations of component clusters for affine quivers. In the case of a wild quiver, we provide bounds for the size of component clusters.

Abstract:It has been proved in Lee and Schiffler, Ann. of Math. 182(1) 73–125 2015 that cluster variables of all skew-symmetric cluster algebras are positive. i.e., every cluster variable as a Laurent polynomial in the cluster variables of any fixed cluster has positive coefficients. We prove that every regular generalized cluster variable of an affine quiver is positive. As a corollary, we obtain that generalized cluster variables of affine quivers are positive and we also construct various positive bases. This generalizes the results in Dupont, J. Algebra Appl. 11(4) 19 2012 and Ding et al. Algebr. Represent. Theory 16(2) 491–525 2013.

Abstract:The set of forks is a class of quivers introduced by M. Warkentin, where every connected mutation-infinite quiver is mutation equivalent to infinitely many forks. Let $Q$ be a fork with $n$ vertices, and $\boldsymbol{w}$ be a fork-preserving mutation sequence. We show that every $c$-vector of $Q$ obtained from $\boldsymbol{w}$ is a solution to a quadratic equation of the form $$\sum_{i=1}^n x_i^2 + \sum_{1\leq i<j\leq n} \pm q_{ij} x_i x_j =1,$$ where $q_{ij}$ is the number of arrows between the vertices $i$ and $j$ in $Q$. The same proof techniques implies that when $Q$ is a rank 3 mutation-cyclic quiver, every $c$-vector of $Q$ is a solution to a quadratic equation of the same form.

An Invariant for Transverse Coassociative 4-Folds

Abstract:We define a $\mathbb{Z}_2$-valued invariant for pairs of transverse coassociative submanifolds of a $G_2$-manifold when they are simply-connected and spin. We prove that there is a canonical generalized connected sum of two transverse coassociatives whose diffeomorphism type is determined by this invariant. When one of these coassociatives is graphical over the other, we show that this invariant is analogous to the invariant associated to the zero-circles of a near-symplectic form on an oriented 4-manifold.

A topology on the poset of quiver mutation classes

Abstract:To better understand mutation-invariant and hereditary properties of quivers (and more generally skew-symmetrizable matrices), we have constructed a topology on the set of all mutation classes of quivers which we call the mutation class topology. This topology is the Alexandrov topology induced by the poset structure on the set of mutation classes of quivers from the partial order of quiver embedding. The closed sets of our topology -- equivalently, the lower sets of the poset -- are in bijective correspondence with mutation-invariant and hereditary properties of quivers. We show that this space is strictly $T_0$, connected, non-Noetherian, and that every open set is dense. We close by providing open questions from cluster algebra theory in the setting of the mutation class topology and some directions for future research.

Abstract:A cluster algebra is an algebraic structure generated by operations of a quiver (a directed graph) called the mutations and their associated simple birational mappings. By using a graph-combinatorial approach, we present a systematic way to derive a tropical, i.e. subtraction-free birational, representation of Weyl groups from cluster algebras. Our result provides a broad class of Weyl group actions including previously known examples acting on certain rational varieties [28, 30] and hence it is relevant to q-Painleve equations and their higher-order extensions. Key ingredients of the argument are the combinatorial aspects of the reflection associated with a cycle subgraph in the quiver. We also discuss symplectic structures of the discrete dynamical systems thus obtained.

Abstract:Let $\mathcal{X}$ be a skew-symmetrizable cluster Poisson variety. The cluster complex $\Delta^+(\mathcal{X})$ was introduced by Gross, Hacking, Keel and Kontsevich. It codifies the theta functions on $\mathcal{X}$ that restrict to a character of a seed torus. Every seed ${ \bf s}$ for $\mathcal{X}$ determines a fan realization $\Delta^+_{\bf s}(\mathcal{X})$ of $\Delta^+(\mathcal{X})$. For every ${\bf s}$ we provide a simple and explicit description of the cones of $\Delta^+_{\bf s}(\mathcal{X})$ and their facets using ${\bf c}$-vectors. Moreover, we give formulas for the theta functions parametrized by the integral points of $\Delta^+_{ \bf s}(\mathcal{X})$ in terms of $F$-polynomials. In case $\mathcal{X}$ is skew-symmetric and the quiver $Q$ associated to ${\bf s}$ is acyclic, we describe the normal vectors of the supporting hyperplanes of the cones of $\Delta^+_{\bf s}(\mathcal{X})$ using ${\bf g}$-vectors of (non-necessarily rigid) objects in $\mathsf{K}^{\rm b}(\text{proj} \; kQ)$.
