Abstract:We give a systematic study of the model theory of generic nilpotent groups and Lie algebras. We show that the Fraïssé limit of 2-nilpotent groups of exponent $p$ studied by Baudisch is 2-dependent and NSOP$_{1}$. We prove that the class of $c$-nilpotent Lie algebras over an arbitrary field, in a language with predicates for a Lazard series, is closed under free amalgamation. We show that for $2 < c$, the generic $c$-nilpotent Lie algebra over $\mathbb{F}_{p}$ is strictly NSOP$_{4}$ and $c$-dependent. Via the Lazard correspondence, we obtain the same result for $c$-nilpotent groups of exponent $p$, for an odd prime $p > c$.
What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problems that this paper attempts to solve mainly focus on the study of the properties of nilpotent groups and Lie algebras in model theory. Specifically, the paper explores the following aspects:
1. **Model - theoretic properties of nilpotent groups and Lie algebras**:
- Study the model - theoretic properties of nilpotent groups and Lie algebras in general, especially their stability, dependence, and various forms of non - order (such as NSOP1, NSOP4, etc.).
- Pay special attention to the model - theoretic properties of 2 - nilpotent groups and Lie algebras, especially in the case of finite fields.
2. **Properties of Fraïssé limits**:
- Study the model - theoretic properties of Fraïssé limits of specific classes of nilpotent groups and Lie algebras. For example, for 2 - nilpotent groups and Lie algebras, study whether their Fraïssé limits have 2 - dependence and NSOP1 properties.
- Through Baudisch's work, explore the independence properties (such as TP2, NIP, etc.) of these Fraïssé limits.
3. **Free amalgamation property**:
- Prove that on any field, the class of c - nilpotent Lie algebras has the free amalgamation property in the language containing Lazard sequences.
- Using the Lazard correspondence, generalize these results to the case of nilpotent groups, especially in the case where the characteristic is an odd prime p and p is greater than the nilpotent class c.
4. **Strict classification in the new stability theory**:
- Explore the classification positions of these nilpotent groups and Lie algebras in the new stability theory, especially whether they belong to the NSOP4 class, and analyze the significance of such theories in the structural theory.
- Provide specific constructions to prove that some nilpotent Lie algebras have SOP3 properties under quantifier - free formulas, and at the same time prove that these theories are NSOP4.
5. **Universal properties of nilpotent groups**:
- Explore the universal properties of nilpotent groups from three different perspectives: model theory, descriptive set theory, and probability theory.
- Focus on the connections and mutual influences between these different frameworks, providing a basis for subsequent research.
In general, this paper aims to reveal the complexity and structural characteristics of nilpotent groups and Lie algebras in model theory through systematic research, laying a foundation for the further development of this field.
