Abstract:This paper proves that the imaginary part of the Riemann $\xi$ function is strictly monotonic with $b$ in the region $S = \{t|t=a+bi,\ 0\leq a \leq 9.508,\ -1/2<b<1/2\}$. That leads to Im($\xi$)=0 being true only when $b=0$ in $S$.

Abstract:Let $\Xi(t)$ be a function relating to the Riemann zeta function $\zeta (s)$ with $s = \frac{1} {2} + it$. In this paper, we construct a function $v$ containing $t$ and $\Xi(t)$, and prove that $v$ satisfies a nonadjoint boundary value problem to a nonsingular differential equation if $t$ is any nontrivial zero of $\Xi(t)$. Inspecting properties of $v$ and using known results of nontrivial zeros of $\zeta (s)$, we derive that nontrivial zeros of $\zeta (s)$ all have real part equal to $\frac{1} {2}$, which concludes that Riemann Hypothesis is true.

Abstract:We give explicit and extended versions of some of Siegel's results. We extend the validity of Siegel's asymptotic development in the second quadrant to most of the third quadrant. We also give precise bounds of the error; this allows us to give an explicit region free of zeros, or with only trivial zeros. The left limit of the zeros on the upper half plane is extended from $1-\sigma\ge a t^{3/7}$ in Siegel to $1-\sigma\ge A t^{2/5}\log t$. Siegel claims that it can be proved that there are no zeros in the region $1-\sigma\ge t^\varepsilon$ for any $\varepsilon>0$. We show that Siegel's proof for the exponent $3/7$ does not extend to prove his claim.

Abstract:We consider a system of three analytic functions, two of which are known to have all their zeros on the critical line $\Re (s)=\sigma=1/2$. We construct inequalities which constrain the third function, $\xi(s)$, on $\Im(s)=0$ to lie between the other two functions, in a sandwich structure. We investigate what can be said about the location of zeros and radius of convergence of expansions of $\xi(s)$, with promising results.

Abstract:We present a purely analytical inequality which is equivalent to the Riemann hypothesis (RH). The proof of the equivalence is based on a representation of the modulus of the Riemann $\xi$ function. As the first step to analyze the inequality, we consider polynomial approximations. We also show that the RH is equivalent to the statement that some wave functions constructed using the Brownian motion never evolve into perfectly distinguishable states.

Abstract:Numerical data suggest that the zeros $\rho$ of the auxiliary Riemann function in the upper half-plane satisfy $\mathop{\mathrm{Re}}(\rho)<1$. We show that this is true for those zeros with $\mathop{\mathrm{Im}}(\rho)> 3.9211\dots10^{65}$. We conjecture that this is true for all of them.

Abstract:While many zeros of the Riemann zeta function are located on the critical line $\Re(s)=1/2$, the non-existence of zeros in the remaining part of the critical strip $\Re(s) \in \, ]0, 1[$ is the main scope to be proven for the Riemann hypothesis. The Riemann zeta functional leads to a relation between the zeros on either sides of the critical line. Given $s$ a complex number and $\bar{s}$ its complex conjugate, if $s$ is a zero of the Riemann zeta function in the critical strip $\Re(s) \in \, ]0, 1[$, then $\zeta(s) = \zeta(1-\bar{s})$, as a key proposition to prove the Riemann hypothesis.

Abstract:The Riemann Hypothesis is a conjecture that all non-trivial zeros of Riemann Zeta function are located on the critical line in the complex plane. Hundreds of propositions in function theory and analytic number theory rely on this hypothesis. However, the problem has been unresolved for over a century. Here we show that at least one set of quadruplet-zeros exists outside the critical line through expanding the infinite product of the Riemann Xi zero function. We found that assuming there are no zeros outside the critical line will result in a contradiction with the known result that the reciprocal sum of all zeros of the xi-function is a constant, thereby refuting the Riemann Hypothesis.

Abstract:We prove that $|\zeta(\sigma+it)|\le 70.7 |t|^{4.438 (1-\sigma)^{3/2}}\log^{2/3}|t|$ for $1/2\le\sigma\le 1$ and $|t|\ge 3$. As a consequence, we improve the explicit zero-free region for $\zeta(s)$, showing that $\zeta(\sigma+it)$ has no zeros in the region $\sigma \geq 1-1 /\left(54.004(\log |t|)^{2 / 3}(\log \log |t|)^{1 / 3}\right)$ for $|t| \geq 3$ and asymptotically in the region $\sigma \geq 1-1 /\left(48.0718(\log |t|)^{2 / 3}(\log \log |t|)^{1 / 3}\right)$ for $|t|$ sufficiently large.

A Proof of the Riemann Hypothesis Using Bombieri's Equivalence Theorem

Abstract:The Riemann hypothesis states that the Riemann $\xi(s)$ function has no zeros in the strip $0< {\rm Re}(s) < 1$ except for the critical line where ${\rm Re}(s) = 1/2$. However, determining whether a point in the strip is a zero of a complex function is a challenging task. Bombieri proposed an assertion in the Official Problem Description that states, ``The Riemann hypothesis is equivalent to the statement that all local maxima of $\xi(t)$ (namely $\xi(s)$ on the critical line) are positive and all local minima are negative." In this paper, we follow Bombieri's idea to study the Riemann hypothesis. First, we show that on the critical line, the $\xi(s)$ function (which is then a real function of a single real variable) obeys a special differential equation, such that it satisfies Bombieri's equivalence condition. Then, since we have been unable to locate the original proof of Bombieri's equivalence theorem, we independently provide a proof for the sufficiency part of it. Namely, if the $\xi(s)$ function satisfies Bombieri's equivalence condition on the critical line, then by the Cauchy-Riemann equations, it has no zeros outside this critical line. Thus, we can conclude that the Riemann hypothesis is true. Finally, we discuss Pólya's counterexample, which is against the use of Jensen's form of the $\xi(s)$ function to study the Riemann hypothesis. We show that this counterexample violates Bombieri's equivalence theorem.

Abstract:We prove a density theorem for the auxiliar function $\mathop{\mathcal R}(s)$ found by Siegel in Riemann papers. Let $\alpha$ be a real number with $\frac12< \alpha\le 1$, and let $N(\alpha,T)$ be the number of zeros $\rho=\beta+i\gamma$ of $\mathop{\mathcal R}(s)$ with $1\ge \beta\ge\alpha$ and $0<\gamma\le T$. Then we prove \[N(\alpha,T)\ll T^{\frac32-\alpha}(\log T)^3.\] Therefore, most of the zeros of $\mathop{\mathcal R}(s)$ are near the critical line or to the left of that line. The imaginary line for $\pi^{-s/2}\Gamma(s/2)\mathop{\mathcal R}(s)$ passing through a zero of $\mathop{\mathcal R}(s)$ near the critical line frequently will cut the critical line, producing two zeros of $\zeta(s)$ in the critical line.

Abstract:We state and give complete proof of the results of Siegel about the zeros of the auxiliary function of Riemann $\mathop{\mathcal R}(s)$. We point out the importance of the determination of the limit to the left of the zeros of $\mathop{\mathcal R}(s)$ with positive imaginary part, obtaining the term $-\sqrt{T/2\pi}P(\sqrt{T/2\pi})$ that would explain the periodic behaviour observed with the statistical study of the zeros of $\mathop{\mathcal R}(s)$. We precise also the connection of the position on the zeros of $\mathop{\mathcal R}(s)$ with the zeros of $\zeta(s)$ in the critical line.

Abstract:Siegel in 1932 published a paper on Riemann's posthumous writings, including a study of the Riemann-Siegel formula. In this paper we explicitly give the asymptotic developments of $\mathop{\mathcal R }(s)$ suggested by Siegel. We extend the range of validity of these asymptotic developments. As a consequence we specify a region in which the function $\mathop{\mathcal R }(s)$ has no zeros. We also give complete proofs of some of Siegel's assertions. We also include a theorem on the asymptotic behaviour of $\mathop{\mathcal R }(\frac12-it)$ for $t \to+\infty$. Although the real part of $e^{-i\vartheta(t)}\mathop{\mathcal R }(\frac12-it)$ is $Z(t)$ the imaginary part grows exponentially, this is why for the study of the zeros of $Z(t)$ it is preferable to consider $\mathop{\mathcal R }(\frac12+it)$ for $t>0$.

Abstract:Assuming the Riemann hypothesis, we investigate the distribution of gaps between the zeros of \xi'(s). We prove that a positive proportion of gaps are less than 0.796 times the average spacing and, in the other direction, a positive proportion of gaps are greater than 1.18 times the average spacing. We also exhibit the existence of infinitely many normalized gaps smaller (larger) than 0.7203 (1.5, respectively).

Abstract:We prove that if a function $\theta \left( z \right)=\int\limits_{1}^{\infty }{\frac{\pi \left( t \right)\,-Li\left( t \right)}{{{t}^{z+1}}}dt}\,,$ which is holomorphic in $\left\{ \operatorname{Re}z>1 \right\}$ holomorphically extends to some simply connected domain $G\subset \left\{ \operatorname{Re}z>\frac{1}{2} \right\}$, then the $\varsigma \left( z \right)-$function of Riemann has no zeros in this domain, $\varsigma \left( z \right)\ne 0\,\,\,\forall z\in G.$ As a consequence, it turns out that if the function $\theta \left( z \right)$is holomorphic in $\operatorname{Re}z>\frac{1}{2},$ then the Riemann hypothesis has a positive solution.
