Abstract:We study the Minkowski problem corresponding to the p-harmonic measures and obtain results previously known for harmonic measures due to Jerison. We show that a class of Borel measures on spheres can be prescribed by p-harmonic measures on convex domains.

Soc. 26 (2013), pp. 831-852] established necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions to the logarithmic Minkowski problem for origin-symmetric measures. We establish the existence of solutions to the logarithmic Minkowski problem for non-symmetric measures and demonstrate the non-uniqueness of solutions to the logarithmic Minkowski problem.

Abstract:In this paper, we resolve the planar dual Minkowski problem, proposed by Huang et al. (2016) [31] for all positive indices without any symmetry assumption. More precisely, given any q>0, and function f on S1, bounded by two positive constants, we show that there exists a convex body Ω in the plane, containing the origin in its interior, whose dual curvature measure C˜q(Ω,⋅) has density f. In particular, if f is smooth, then ∂Ω is also smooth.

Abstract:Given a function f > 0 on the unit sphere n +1 , the Minkowski problem in the sphere concerns the existence of convex hypersurfaces M subset of(n +1) such that the Gauss curvature of M at z is equal to f (v( z )), where v(z) is the unit outer normal of M at z . We use the min-max principle and the Gauss curvature flow to prove that there are at least two solutions to the problem. By using the rotating plane method in the sphere, we also show the existence of a rotationally symmetric and monotone function f such that there are exactly two solutions.

Abstract: The $L_p$-Minkowski problem deals with the existence of closed convex hypersurfaces in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ with prescribed $p$-area measures. It extends the classical Minkowski problem and embraces several important geometric and physical applications. The Existence of solutions has been obtained in the sub-critical case $p>-n-1$, but the problem remains widely open in the super-critical case $p<-n-1$. In this paper, we introduce new ideas to solve the problem for all the super-critical exponents. A crucial ingredient in our proof is a topological method based on the calculation of the homology of a topological space of ellipsoids.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider an extremal problem associated with the solution to a boundary value problem. Our main focus is on establishing a variational formula for a functional related to the $\mathbf{p}$-harmonic measure, from which a new measure is derived. This further motivates us to study the Minkowski problem for this new measure. As a main result, we prove the existence of solutions to the $L_q$ Minkowski problem associated with the $\mathbf{p}$-harmonic measure for $0<q<1$ and $1<\mathbf{p}\ne n+1$.

Abstract:Lutwak, Yang and Zhang [23] introduced the concept of Lp dual curvature measure for convex bodies and star bodies, and studied the Minkowski problem. We in this paper establish a new unified concept, in briefly, the (p,q)-mixed quermassintegrals, via (p,q)-dual mixed curvature measure, and further have a deep discussion on Minkowski problem with respect to the (p,q)-dual mixed curvature measure. By the way, we derive at some important properties and geometric inequalities for (p,q)-mixed quermassintegrals.

Abstract:The Minkowski problem in convex geometry concerns showing a given Borel measure on the unit sphere is, up to perhaps a constant, some type of surface area measure of a convex body. Two types of Minkowski problems in particular are an active area of research: $L^p$ Minkowski problems, introduced by Lutwak and (Lutwak,Yang, and Zhang), and weighted Minkowski problems, introduced by Livshyts. For the latter, the Gaussian Minkowski problem, whose primary investigators were (Huang, Xi and Zhao), is the most prevalent. In this work, we consider weighted surface area in the $L^p$ setting. We propose a framework going beyond the Gaussian setting by focusing on rotational invariant measures, mirroring the recent development of the Gardner-Zvavitch inequality for rotational invariant, log-concave measures. Our results include existence for all $p \in \mathbb R$ (with symmetry assumptions in certain instances). We also have uniqueness for $p \geq 1$ under a concavity assumption. Finally, we obtain results in the so-called $small$ $mass$ $regime$ using degree theory, as instigated in the Gaussian case by (Huang, Xi and Zhao). Most known results for the Gaussian Minkowski problem are then special cases of our main theorems.

This question unifies the previously disjoint Minkowski problem with the dual Minkowski problem, two open questions in convex geometry. Abstract:The classical Brunn-Minkowski theory studies the geometry of convex bodies in Euclidean space by use of the Minkowski sum. It originated from H. Brunn's thesis in 1887 and H. Minkowski's paper in 1903. Because there is no universally acknowledged definition of the sum of two sets in hyperbolic space, there has been no Brunn-Minkowski theory in hyperbolic space since 1903. In this paper, for any p>0 we introduce a sum of two sets in hyperbolic space, and we call it the hyperbolic p-sum. Then we develop a Brunn-Minkowski theory in the hyperbolic space by use of our hyperbolic p-sum, and we call it the horospherical p-Brunn-Minkowski theory. Let K be any smooth horospherically convex bounded domain in the hyperbolic space ℍ^n+1. Through calculating the variation of the k-th modified quermassintegral of K by use of our hyperbolic p-sum, we introduce the horospherical k-th p-surface area measure associated with K on the unit sphere 𝕊^n. For k=0, we introduce the horospherical p-Minkowski problem, which is the prescribed horospherical p-surface area measure problem. Through designing and studying a new volume preserving flow, we solve the existence of solutions to the horospherical p-Minkowski problem for all p ∈ (-∞,+∞) when the given measure is even. For 1 ≤ k ≤ n-1, we introduce the horospherical p-Christoffel-Minkowski problem, which is the prescribed horospherical k-th p-surface area measure problem. We solve the existence of solutions to the horospherical p-Christoffel-Minkowski problem for p∈(-n, +∞) under appropriate assumption on the given measure. We also study the Brunn-Minkowski inequalities and the Minkowski inequalities for domains in the hyperbolic space.

Abstract:We construct a sequence $\{\Sigma_\ell\}_{\ell=1}^\infty$ of closed, axially symmetric surfaces $\Sigma_\ell\subset \mathbb{R}^3$ that converges to the unit sphere in $W^{2,p}\cap C^1$ for every $p\in[1,\infty)$ and such that, for every $\ell$, $$ \int_{\Sigma_{\ell}}H_{\Sigma_\ell}-\sqrt{16\,\pi\,|\Sigma_{\ell}|}<0 $$ where $H_{\Sigma_\ell}$ is the mean curvature of $\Sigma_\ell$. This shows that the Minkowski inequality with optimal constant fails even for perturbations of a round sphere that are small in $W^{2,p}\cap C^1$ unless additional convexity assumptions are imposed.

Abstract:Minkowski's Theorem asserts that every centered measure on the sphere which is not concentrated on a great subsphere is the surface area measure of some convex body, and, moreover, the surface area measure determines a convex body uniquely. In this manuscript we prove an extension of Minkowski's theorem. Consider a measure $\mu$ on $\mathbb{R}^n$ with positive degree of concavity and positive degree of homogeneity. We show that a surface area measure of a convex set $K$, weighted with respect to $\mu$, determines a convex body uniquely up to $\mu$-measure zero. We also establish an existence result under natural conditions including symmetry. We apply this result to extend the solution to classical Shephard's problem, which asks the following: if one convex body in $\mathbb{R}^n$ has larger projections than another convex body in every direction, does it mean that the volume of the first convex body is also greater? The answer to this question is affirmative when $n\leq 2$ and negative when $n\geq 3.$ In this paper we introduce a new notion which relates projections of convex bodies to a given measure $\mu$, and is a direct generalization of the Lebesgue area of a projection. Using this notion we state a generalization of the Shephard problem to measures and prove that the answer is affirmative for $n\leq 2$ and negative for $n\geq 3$ for measures which have a positive degree of homogeneity and a positive degree of concavity. We also prove stability and separation results, and establish useful corollaries. Finally, we describe two types of uniqueness results which follow from the extension of Minkowski's theorem.

Abstract:Let $M$ be an $n$-dimensional Hadamard manifold of pinched negative curvature $-b^2 \leq K_M \leq -a^2$. The solution of the Dirichlet problem at infinity for $M$ leads to the construction of a family of mutually absolutely continuous probability measures $\{\mu_x\}_{x \in M}$ called the harmonic measures. Fixing a basepoint $o \in M$, the Poisson kernel of $M$ is the function $P : M \times \partial M \to (0, \infty)$ defined by \begin{equation*} P(x, \xi) = \frac{d\mu_x}{d\mu_o}(\xi) \ , \ x \in M, \xi \in \partial M. \end{equation*} We prove the following global upper and lower bounds for the Poisson kernel: \begin{equation*} \frac{1}{C}\: e^{-2K{(o|\xi)}_x}\: e^{a d(x, o)} \le P(x,\xi) \le C\: e^{2K{(x|\xi)}_o}\: e^{-a d(x,o)} \:, \end{equation*} for some positive constants $C \geq 1, K > 0$ depending solely on $a, b$ and $n$. The above estimates may be viewed as a generalization of the well-known formula for the Poisson kernel in terms of Busemann functions for the special case of Gromov hyperbolic harmonic manifolds. These estimates do not follow directly from known estimates on Green's functions or harmonic measures. Instead we use techniques due to Anderson-Schoen for estimating positive harmonic functions in cones. As applications, we obtain quantitative estimates for the convergence $\mu_x \to \delta_{\xi}$ as $x \in M \to \xi \in \partial M$, and for the convergence of harmonic measures on finite spheres to the harmonic measures on the boundary at infinity as the radius of the spheres tends to infinity.

Abstract:In the present paper, we introduce the so-called L p torsion measure, L p mixed torsion. A Hadamard variational formula for torsion under the p-sum is established. As an application, the existence of solutions to a L p Minkowski problem for torsion is proved for any fixed p > 1 and p ≠ n + 2 , which extends a result of Colesanti and Fimiani [24]. A L p Minkowski inequality for torsion is also obtained, which implies the uniqueness of the solutions for the L p Minkowski problem mentioned above.

Abstract:Consider a complete asymptotically flat 3-manifold $M$ with non-negative scalar curvature and non-empty minimal boundary $\Sigma$. Fix a number $1 < p < 3$. We derive monotone quantities for $p$-harmonic functions on $M$ which become constant on Schwarzschild. These monotonicity formulas imply a sharp mass-capacity estimate relating the ADM mass of $M$ with the $p$-capacity of $\Sigma$ in $M$, which was first proved by Xiao using weak inverse mean curvature flow.

Abstract:In this paper we present new versions of the classical Brunn-Minkowski inequality for different classes of measures and sets. We show that the inequality \[ \mu(\lambda A + (1-\lambda)B)^{1/n} \geq \lambda \mu(A)^{1/n} + (1-\lambda)\mu(B)^{1/n} \] holds true for an unconditional product measure $\mu$ with decreasing density and a pair of unconditional convex bodies $A,B \subset \mathbb{R}^n$. We also show that the above inequality is true for any unconditional $\log$-concave measure $\mu$ and unconditional convex bodies $A,B \subset \mathbb{R}^n$. Finally, we prove that the inequality is true for a symmetric $\log$-concave measure $\mu$ and a pair of symmetric convex sets $A,B \subset \mathbb{R}^2$, which, in particular, settles two-dimensional case of the conjecture for Gaussian measure proposed by R. Gardner and the fourth named author. In addition, we deduce the $1/n$-concavity of the parallel volume $t \mapsto \mu(A+tB)$, Brunn's type theorem and certain analogues of Minkowski first inequality.
