Abstract:SOS TUTORIA UC is a student connection application aimed at facilitating academic assistance between students through external tutoring outside of the application. To achieve this, a responsive web application was designed and implemented, integrated with the WeNet platform, which provides various services for user management and user recommendation algorithms. This study presents the development and validation of the experience in the application by evaluating the importance of incorporating the dimension of personality traits, according to the Big Five model, in the process of recommending students for academic tutoring. The goal is to provide support for students to find others with greater knowledge and with a personality that is different\', śimilar\' or índifferent\' to their own preferences for receiving academic assistance on a specific topic. The integration with the WeNet platform was successful in terms of components, and the results of the recommendation system testing were positive but have room for improvement.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is how to recommend suitable tutors by considering academic ability and personality characteristics when establishing effective tutoring relationships among students. Specifically, the paper introduces an application named 'SOS TUTORÍA UC', which aims to promote academic assistance among students through external tutoring. To achieve this goal, the research team designed and implemented a responsive web application and integrated it with the WeNet platform, which provides a variety of user management and recommendation algorithm services. The paper specifically explores the importance of adding the dimension of personality traits in the recommendation process, especially according to the Big Five Model, namely Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Emotional Stability/Neuroticism, and Openness to Experience. The purpose is to help students find tutors who have a higher knowledge level in specific subjects and whose personality traits are "different", "similar" or "not important" from their own, so as to improve the effectiveness of tutoring and students' satisfaction. In addition, the paper also discusses the results of system testing. Although the test results of the recommendation system are positive, there is still room for improvement, especially in better meeting user preferences and selection filters. The study found that the importance of personality characteristics in the tutor - tutee matching process was recognized by the participants, who suggested increasing the compatibility level and more detailed personality trait information to assist the selection process.
