Abstract:The branching rule for spin irreducible representations of symmetric groups gives rise to a Markov chain on the spin dual $(\widetilde{\mathfrak{S}}_n)^\wedge_{spin}$ of symmetric group $\mathfrak{S}_n$. This further produces a continuous time random walk $(X_s^{(n)})_{s\geqq 0}$ on $(\widetilde{\mathfrak{S}}_n)^\wedge_{spin}$ by introducing an appropriate pausing time. Taking diffusive scaling limit for these random walks under $s=tn$ and $1/\sqrt{n}$ reduction as $n\to\infty$, we consider a concentration phenomenon at each macroscopic time $t$. Since an element of $(\widetilde{\mathfrak{S}}_n)^\wedge_{spin}$ is regarded as a strict partition of $n$ with $\pm 1$ indices, the limit shapes of profiles of strict partitions appear. In this paper, we give a framework in which initial concentration at $t=0$ is propagated to concentration at any $t>0$. We thus meet the limit shape $\omega_t$ depending on macroscopic time $t$, and describe the time evolution by using devices in free probability theory. A spin version of the Jucys--Murphy element plays an important role in our analysis.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is about the limit shape problem of spin - irreducible representations of symmetric groups in dynamic models. Specifically, the paper explores how to generate a Markov chain from the branching rules of spin - irreducible representations by introducing appropriate stopping times, and further generate a continuous - time random walk. By studying the diffusion - scale limits of these random walks, the author focuses on the concentration phenomenon at each macroscopic time \(t\). The main goal of the paper is to establish a framework in which the phenomenon initially concentrated at \(t = 0\) can be propagated to any time point \(t>0\), and describe the evolution of the limit shape \(\omega_t\) over time. In addition, the paper also uses tools in free probability theory to analyze this process, especially the spin - version of Jucys - Murphy elements plays a crucial role in the analysis. ### Background and Problems of the Paper 1. **Spin - irreducible Representations**: Spin - irreducible representations of the symmetric group \(S_n\) are studied through linear representations of its double cover \(\tilde{S}_n\). These representations can be divided into ordinary representations and spin representations. 2. **Markov Chains and Random Walks**: Through the branching rules, a Markov chain on the dual set \((\tilde{S}_n)^\wedge_{\text{spin}}\) of spin - irreducible representations can be constructed. After further introducing appropriate stopping times, a continuous - time random walk can be generated. 3. **Limit Shapes**: Study the concentration phenomenon of these random walks under the diffusion - scale limit, that is, when \(n\rightarrow\infty\), whether the distributions of these random walks are concentrated on a certain limit shape \(\omega_t\). ### Main Contributions 1. **Framework Establishment**: The paper establishes a framework for propagation from the initial concentration at \(t = 0\) to any \(t>0\), and describes the evolution of the limit shape \(\omega_t\) over time. 2. **Spin Jucys - Murphy Elements**: The spin - version of Jucys - Murphy elements plays a crucial role in the analysis, especially in describing the time evolution of the limit shape. 3. **Application of Free Probability Theory**: Use tools in free probability theory, such as free convolution and free compression, to describe the evolution process of the limit shape. ### Mathematical Formulas - **Spin Jucys - Murphy Elements**: \[ \tilde{J}_k=[1k]+[2k]+\cdots+[k - 1k]\quad(2\leq k\leq n),\quad\tilde{J}_1 = 0 \] - **Evolution of the Limit Shape**: \[ m_{\omega_t}=(m_{\omega_0})e^{-t/m}\boxplus(\gamma_2)^{1 - e^{-t/m}}\quad(t>0) \] where \(\gamma_2\) is a semicircular distribution with variance 2. - **Partial Differential Equation of Stieltjes Transform**: \[ m\frac{\partial G}{\partial t}=G+\left(\frac{1}{G}-2G\right)\frac{\partial G}{\partial z} \] ### Conclusion By establishing a framework, the paper successfully describes the evolution of the limit shape of spin - irreducible representations in dynamic models over time. This research not only deepens the understanding of spin representations, but also provides a new perspective for the application of free probability theory in combinatorial representation theory.
