Abstract:In a previous paper [BTF21] the authors employed the fiber join construction of Yamazaki [Yam99] together with the admissible construction of Apostolov, Calderbank, Gauduchon, and Tønnesen-Friedman [ACGTF08a] to construct new extremal Sasaki metrics on odd dimensional sphere bundles over smooth projective algebraic varieties. In the present paper we continue this study by applying a recent existence theorem [BHLTF23] that shows that under certain conditions one can always obtain a constant scalar curvature Sasaki metric in the Sasaki cone. Moreover, we explicitly describe this construction for certain sphere bundles of dimension 5 and 7.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The main problem that this paper attempts to solve is to determine how to construct Sasaki metrics with constant scalar curvature (CSC) on odd - dimensional sphere bundles under specific conditions. Specifically, the authors combined Yamazaki's fiber - connection construction with the admissible conditions proposed by Apostolov et al., and further developed a condition called "strongly admissible" for constructing Sasaki metrics with constant scalar curvature. ### Background of the Paper In Riemannian geometry, a central problem is how to determine the conditions for a metric to have constant scalar curvature. This problem is especially important in Kähler geometry and its odd - dimensional counterpart - Sasaki geometry. Sasaki geometry studies odd - dimensional manifolds with special structures, and the metrics on these manifolds can have extremal properties or constant scalar curvature. ### Main Contributions 1. **Strongly Admissible Condition**: - The authors introduced a new condition - "strongly admissible", which is more relaxed than the previously proposed "super admissible" condition but is still sufficient for constructing Sasaki metrics with constant scalar curvature. - The specific definition is given in Section 3.6 of the paper. 2. **Main Theorem**: - **Theorem 1.1**: Let \( M_w \) be a strongly admissible Yamazaki fiber - connection, whose regular quotient is a regular manifold of the form \( P(E_0\oplus E_\infty)\to N \), where \( E_0 \) and \( E_\infty \) are projective flat Hermitian holomorphic vector bundles with complex dimensions \( d_0 + 1 \) and \( d_\infty+ 1 \) respectively, and \( N \) is a local product of non - negative constant scalar curvature Kähler metrics. Then \( t^+_{\text{sph}} \) has a 2 - dimensional sub - cone, which contains at least one CSC Sasaki metric ray (in the homotopy sense). 3. **Specific Examples**: - The authors described in detail the specific constructions of 5 - and 7 - dimensional sphere bundles and gave the results of the existence of CSC and extremal Sasaki metrics, even if not all the conditions of Theorem 1.1 are satisfied. ### Mathematical Formulas - **Definition of Sasaki Metric**: - Let \( (M, S) \) be a K - contact manifold, where \( S = (\xi,\eta,\Phi,g) \), \( \eta \) is the contact form, \( \xi \) is its Reeb vector field, \( J=\Phi|_D \) is the almost complex structure on \( D = \ker\eta \), and \( g = d\eta\circ(1\times\Phi)+\eta\otimes\eta \) is the compatible Riemann metric. - \( S \) is Sasakian if the almost CR structure is integrable. - **Sasaki Cone**: - \( t^+(D, J)=\{\xi\in t\mid\eta_o(\xi)>0\text{ everywhere on }M\} \). - \( t^+(D, J) \) is a cone in \( t \) with dimension \( k\geq1 \). - **Formulas in the Main Theorem**: - \( t^+_{\text{sph}} \) has a 2 - dimensional sub - cone, which contains at least one CSC Sasaki metric ray, that is, there exists \( \xi\in t^+_{\text{sph}} \) such that the Sasaki metric corresponding to \( \xi \) has constant scalar curvature. ### Conclusion By introducing the "strongly admissible" condition, the authors have successfully extended previous work and provided a way to construct metrics with constant scalar curvature on odd - dimensional sphere bundles.
