Abstract:The present paper refers to the notions of digital continuity, digital $k$-isomorphism, local $k$-isomorphism, radius $2$-local $k$-isomorphism, and digital $k$-homotopy motivated by the Khalimsky's version. We discuss something incorrectly mentioned in Boxer's papers and suggest some accurate information.
General Topology
What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The main problems that this paper attempts to solve are some fundamental conceptual and theoretical issues in digital topology, especially regarding the concepts of digital continuity, digital k - isomorphism, local k - isomorphism, radius 2 - local k - isomorphism, and digital k - homotopy. Specifically: 1. **Error Correction**: The paper points out some inaccuracies mentioned in Boxer's paper and provides more precise information. This involves the clarification and correction of some basic concepts in digital images and digital topology. 2. **Definition and Extension of Concepts**: - **Digital k - Continuity**: Defines the conditions for a function \( f: (X, k_1)\rightarrow(Y, k_2) \) to be \((k_1, k_2)\)-continuous. - **Digital k - Isomorphism**: Defines the isomorphic relationship between two digital images. - **Local k - Isomorphism**: Defines a weaker local isomorphic concept than digital k - isomorphism. - **Radius 2 - Local k - Isomorphism**: Defines a stronger local isomorphic concept, which is especially suitable for studying digital covering spaces and the homotopy lifting theorem. - **Digital k - Homotopy**: Defines the homotopic relationship between digital images and discusses the concept of relative homotopy. 3. **Applications and Significance**: - **Homotopy Lifting Theorem**: Radius 2 - local k - isomorphism plays a crucial role in establishing the homotopy lifting theorem, which is very important for calculating the fundamental group of digital images. - **Digital Fundamental Group**: These concepts are helpful for calculating the fundamental group of digital images, thereby better understanding the topological structure of digital images. In conclusion, this paper aims to provide a more accurate and consistent theoretical framework by clarifying and expanding the basic concepts in digital topology, in order to support further research in the field of digital image processing and analysis.
