Abstract:We confirm a conjecture of Braverman--Etingof--Finkelberg that the spherical subalgebra of their cyclotomic double affine Hecke algebra (DAHA) is isomorphic to a quantized multiplicative quiver variety for the cyclic quiver, as defined by Jordan. The isomorphism is constructed as a q-analogue of Oblomkov's cyclotomic radial parts map for the rational case. In the appendix, we also prove that the spherical cyclotomic DAHA is isomorphic to the image of a shifted quantum toroidal algebra under Tsymbaliuk's GKLO homomorphism.

Abstract:We use the Hecke algebras of affine symmetric groups and their associated Schur algebras to construct a new algebra through a basis, and a set of generators and explicit multiplication formulas of basis elements by generators. We prove that this algebra is isomorphic to the quantum enveloping algebra of the loop algebra of $\mathfrak {gl}_n$. Though this construction is motivated by the work \cite{BLM} by Beilinson--Lusztig--MacPherson for quantum $\frak{gl}_n$, our approach is purely algebraic and combinatorial, independent of the geometric method which seems to work only for quantum $\mathfrak{gl}_n$ and quantum affine $\mathfrak{sl}_n$. As an application, we discover a presentation of the Ringel--Hall algebra of a cyclic quiver by semisimple generators and their multiplications by the defining basis elements.

Abstract:We build representations of the affine and double affine braid groups and Hecke algebras of type $C^\vee C_n$, based upon the theory of quantum symmetric pairs $(U,B)$. In the case $U=U_q(gl_N)$, our constructions provide a quantization of the representations constructed by Etingof, Freund and Ma in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="0801.1530" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/0801.1530">arXiv:0801.1530</a>, and also a type $BC$ generalization of the results in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="0805.2766" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/0805.2766">arXiv:0805.2766</a>.

Abstract:We develop a $\mathtt{q}$-analogue of the theory of conjugation equivariant $\mathcal D$-modules on a complex reductive group $G$. In particular, we define quantum Hotta-Kashiwara modules and compute their endomorphism algebras. We use the Schur-Weyl functor of the second author, and develop tools from the corresponding double affine Hecke algebra to study this category in the cases $G=GL_N$ and $SL_N$. Our results also have an interpretation in skein theory (explored further in a sequel paper), namely a computation of the $GL_N$ and $SL_N$-skein algebra of the 2-torus.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the Harish-Chandra homomorphism for the quantum superalgebra U_q(𝔤) associated with a simple basic Lie superalgebra 𝔤 and give an explicit description of its image. We use it to prove that the center of U_q(𝔤) is isomorphic to a subring of the ring J(𝔤) of exponential super-invariants in the sense of Sergeev and Veselov, establishing a Harish-Chandra type theorem for U_q(𝔤). As a byproduct, we obtain a basis of the center of U_q(𝔤) with the aid of quasi-R-matrix.

Abstract:The centre of two-parameter quantum groups $U_{r,s}(\mathfrak{g})$ is determined through the Harish-Chandra homomorphism. Based on the Rosso form and the representation theory of weight modules, we prove that when rank $\mathfrak{g}$ is even, the Harish-Chandra homomorphism is an isomorphism, and in particular, the centre of the quantum group $\breve{U}_{r,s}(\mathfrak{g})$ of the weight lattice type is a polynomial algebra $\mathbb{K}[z_{\varpi_1},\cdots,z_{\varpi_n}]$, where canonical central elements $z_\lambda \; (\lambda \in \Lambda^+)$ are turned out to be uniformly expressed. For rank $\mathfrak{g}$ to be odd, we figure out a new invertible extra central generator $z_*$, which doesn't survive in $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$, and we get a larger centre containing $\mathbb{K}[z_{\varpi_1},\cdots,z_{\varpi_n}]\otimes_\mathbb K\mathbb K[z_*, z_*^{-1}]$.

Abstract:The purpose of this thesis is to present certain viewpoints on the geometric representation theory of Nakajima cyclic quiver varieties, in relation to the Maulik-Okounkov stable basis. Our main technical tool is the shuffle algebra, which arises as the K-theoretic Hall algebra of the double cyclic quiver. We prove the isomorphism between the shuffle algebra and the quantum toroidal algebra U_{q,t}(sl_n^^), and identify the quotients of Verma modules for the shuffle algebra with the K-theory groups of Nakajima cyclic quiver varieties, which were studied by Nakajima and Varagnolo-Vasserot. The shuffle algebra viewpoint allows us to construct the universal R-matrix of the quantum toroidal algebra U_{q,t}(sl_n^^), and to factor it in terms of pieces that arise from subalgebras isomorphic to quantum affine groups U_{q}(gl_m^), for various m. This factorization generalizes constructions of Khoroshkin-Tolstoy to the toroidal case, and matches the factorization that Maulik-Okounkov produce via the stable basis in the K-theory of Nakajima quiver varieties. We connect the two pictures by computing formulas for the root generators of U_{q,t}(sl_n^^) acting on the stable basis, which provide a wide extension of Murnaghan-Nakayama and Pieri type rules from combinatorics.

Abstract:Let Uq(sl2) be the quantized enveloping algebra associated to the simple Lie algebra sl2. In this paper, we study the quantum double Dq of the Borel subalgebra Uq((sl2)⩽0) of Uq(sl2). We construct an analogue of Kostant–Lusztig Z[v,v−1]-form for Dq and show that it is a Hopf subalgebra. We prove that, over an algebraically closed field, every simple Dq-module is the pull-back of a simple Uq(sl2)-module through certain surjection from Dq onto Uq(sl2), and the category of finite-dimensional weight Dq-modules is equivalent to a direct sum of |k×| copies of the category of finite-dimensional weight Uq(sl2)-modules. As an application, we recover (in a conceptual way) Chen's results [H.X. Chen, Irreducible representations of a class of quantum doubles, J. Algebra 225 (2000) 391–409] as well as Radford's results [D.E. Radford, On oriented quantum algebras derived from representations of the quantum double of a finite-dimensional Hopf algebras, J. Algebra 270 (2003) 670–695] on the quantum double of Taft algebra. Our main results allow a direct generalization to the quantum double of the Borel subalgebra of the quantized enveloping algebra associated to arbitrary Cartan matrix.
Shuffle algebras for quivers as quantum groups

Abstract:We define a quantum loop group $\mathbf{U}^+_Q$ associated to an arbitrary quiver $Q=(I,E)$ and maximal set of deformation parameters, with generators indexed by $I \times \mathbb{Z}$ and some explicit quadratic and cubic relations. We prove that $\mathbf{U}^+_Q$ is isomorphic to the (generic, small) shuffle algebra associated to the quiver $Q$ and hence, by [Neg21a], to the localized K-theoretic Hall algebra of $Q$. For the quiver with one vertex and $g$ loops, this yields a presentation of the spherical Hall algebra of a (generic) smooth projective curve of genus $g$ (invoking the results of [SV12]). We extend the above results to the case of non-generic parameters satisfying a certain natural metric condition. As an application, we obtain a description by generators and relations of the subalgebra generated by absolutely cuspidal eigenforms of the Hall algebra of an arbitrary smooth projective curve (invoking the results of [KSV17]).

Abstract:We introduce a central extension of the preprojective algebra of a finite Dynkin quiver (depending on a regular weight for the corresponding root system), whose natural deformed version is flat (unlike that for the preprojective algebra). We calculate the Hilbert polynomial of the central extension, and show that it is a Frobenius algebra. As a corollary, we obtain the Hilbert series of the usual deformed preprojective algebra in which the deformation parameters are variables, and show that this algebra is Gorenstein (although it is not a flat module over the ring of parameters). The proofs are based on the fact that our central extension for the weight \rho is the image of the quantum Heisenberg algebra in the fusion category of representations of quantum SL(2) under a tensor functor into bimodules over a semisimple algebra. Finally, we explain how our algebras are connected to cyclotomic Hecke algebras of complex reflection groups of rank 2, and in particular show that the dimension of the latter for generic parameters is equal to the order of the group, as conjectured by Broue, Malle, and Rouquier.

Abstract:We study the relation between quantum affine algebras of type A and Grassmannian cluster algebras. Hernandez and Leclerc described an isomorphism from the Grothendieck ring of a certain subcategory $${\mathcal {C}}_{\ell }$$ of $$U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak {sl}_n})$$-modules to a quotient of the Grassmannian cluster algebra in which certain frozen variables are set to 1. We explain how this induces an isomorphism between the monoid of dominant monomials, used to parameterize simple modules, and a quotient of the monoid of rectangular semistandard Young tableaux with n rows and with entries in $$[n+\ell +1]$$. Via the isomorphism, we define an element ch(T) in a Grassmannian cluster algebra for every rectangular tableau T. By results of Kashiwara, Kim, Oh, and Park, and also of Qin, every Grassmannian cluster monomial is of the form ch(T) for some T. Using a formula of Arakawa–Suzuki, we give an explicit expression for ch(T), and also give explicit q-character formulas for finite-dimensional $$U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak {sl}_n})$$-modules. We give a tableau-theoretic rule for performing mutations in Grassmannian cluster algebras. We suggest how our formulas might be used to study reality and primeness of modules, and compatibility of cluster variables.

Abstract:The analytic Langlands correspondence describes the solution to the spectral problem for the quantised Hitchin Hamiltonians. It is related to the S-duality of $\cal{N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory. We propose a one-parameter deformation of the Analytic Langlands Correspondence, and discuss its relations to quantum field theory. The partition functions of the $H_3^+$ WZNW model are interpreted as the wave-functions of a spherical vector in the quantisation of complex Chern-Simons theory. Verlinde line operators generate a representation of two copies of the quantised skein algebra on generalised partition functions. We conjecture that this action generates a basis for the underlying Hilbert space, and explain in which sense the resulting quantum theory represents a deformation of the Analytic Langlands Correspondence.

Associating deformed $ϕ$-coordinated modules for the quantum affine vertex algebra with orthogonal twisted $h$-Yangians

Abstract:We consider the Etingof-Kazhdan quantum vertex algebra $\mathcal{V}^c(\mathfrak{gl}_N)$ associated with the trigonometric $R$-matrix of type $A$. By combining Li's theory of $\phi$-coordinated modules and the ideas from our previous paper, we introduce the notion of deformed $\phi$-coordinated quantum vertex algebra module. We show that the orthogonal twisted $h$-Yangians and restricted modules for the generalized orthogonal twisted $h$-Yangians can be equipped with the structure of (truncated) deformed $\phi$-coordinated $\mathcal{V}^c(\mathfrak{gl}_N)$-module and demonstrate its applications.

Abstract:Let $\mathcal P:=\mathcal P_{m\times n}$ denote the quantized coordinate ring of the space of $m\times n$ matrices, equipped with natural actions of the quantized enveloping algebras $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_m)$ and $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$. Let $\mathcal L$ and $\mathcal R$ denote the images of $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_m)$ and $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$ in $\mathrm{End}(\mathcal P)$, respectively. We define a $q$-analogue of the algebra of polynomial-coefficient differential operators inside $\mathrm{End}(\mathcal P)$, henceforth denoted by $\mathcal{PD}$, and we prove that $\mathcal L\cap \mathcal{PD}$ and $\mathcal{R}\cap \mathcal{PD}$ are mutual centralizers inside $\mathcal{PD}$. Using this, we establish a new First Fundamental Theorem of invariant theory for $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$. We also compute explicit formulas in terms of $q$-determinants for generators of the intersections with $\mathcal{PD}$ of the images of the Cartan subalgebras of $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_m)$ and $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$.

Abstract:In this paper we study the space $C(\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q))$ of complex invariant functions on $\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q)$, through a Hopf algebra viewpoint. First, we consider a variant notion of Zelevinsky's PSH algebra defined over the real numbers $\mathbb{R}$. In particular, we show that two specific $\mathbb{R}$-lattices inside the complex Hopf algebra $\bigoplus_nC(\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q))$ are real PSH algebras, and that they do not descend to $\mathbb{Z}$. Then, among consequences, we prove that every element in $C(\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q))$ is a linear combination of Harish-Chandra inductions of Kawanaka's pre-cuspidal functions, and give a conceptual characterisation of duality operation for $\mathfrak{gl}_n(\mathbb{F}_q)$, which in turn allows us to give a new proof of a classical result of Kawanaka.

A new realization of quantum algebras in gauge theory and Ramification in the Langlands program

Abstract:We realize the fundamental representations of quantum algebras via the supersymmetric Higgs mechanism in gauge theories with 8 supercharges on an $\Omega$-background. We test our proposal for quantum affine algebras, by probing the Higgs phase of a 5d quiver gauge theory on a circle. We show that our construction implies the existence of tame ramification in the Aganagic-Frenkel-Okounkov formulation of the geometric Langlands program, a correspondence which identifies $q$-conformal blocks of the quantum affine algebra with those of a Langlands dual deformed ${\cal W}$-algebra. The new feature of ramified blocks is their definition in terms of Drinfeld polynomials for a set of quantum affine weights. In enumerative geometry, the blocks are vertex functions counting quasimaps to quiver varieties describing moduli spaces of vortices. Physically, the vortices admit a description as a 3d ${\cal N}=2$ quiver gauge theory on the Higgs branch of the 5d gauge theory, uniquely determined from the Drinfeld polynomial data; the blocks are supersymmetric indices for the vortex theory supported on a 3-manifold with distinguished BPS boundary conditions. The top-down explanation of our results is found in the 6d $(2,0)$ little string theory, where tame ramification is provided by certain D-branes. When the string mass is taken to be large, we make contact with various physical aspects of the point particle superconformal limit: the Gukov-Witten description of ramification via monodromy defects in 4d Super Yang-Mills (and their S-duality), the Nekrasov-Tsymbaliuk solution to the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations, and the classification of massive deformations of tamely ramified Hitchin systems. In a companion paper, we will show that our construction implies a solution to the local Alday-Gaiotto-Tachikawa conjecture.

Abstract:We extend the $\imath$Hall algebra realization of $\imath$quantum groups arising from quantum symmetric pairs, which establishes an injective homomorphism from the universal $\imath$quantum group of Kac-Moody type to the $\imath$Hall algebra associated to an arbitrary $\imath$quiver (not necessarily virtually acyclic). This generalizes Lu-Wang's result.
