Abstract:The AdS/CFT correspondence, or holography, has provided numerous important insights into the behavior of strongly-coupled many-body systems. Crucially, it has provided a testing ground for the construction of new effective field theories, especially those in the low frequency, long wavelength limit known as hydrodynamics. We review the study of strongly-coupled rotating fluids using holography, and we examine the hydrodynamics emerging from the study of rotating Myers-Perry black holes. We discuss three regimes in which holographic rotating fluids display either (1) hydrodynamic behavior of a boosted fluid, (2) hydrodynamic behavior distinct from a boosted fluid, or (3) no obvious hydrodynamic behavior. We describe techniques to obtain hydrodynamic and non-hydrodynamic modes, and we compute the radius of convergence for the hydrodynamic regimes. The limitations of hydrodynamics under rotation are discussed alongside our findings.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The paper attempts to address the behavior of strongly coupled fluids under rotational conditions and their description in holographic theory. Specifically: 1. **Research Background**: The paper first outlines the ubiquity of rotating fluids at different scales and emphasizes the importance of fluid dynamics as an effective theory in the low-energy long-wavelength limit. In particular, it mentions that the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions exhibits strong interaction characteristics and displays hydrodynamic behavior. 2. **Application of Holographic Theory**: Since QGP is a strongly coupled system, understanding its properties theoretically is very challenging. Through the AdS/CFT correspondence, this problem can be transformed into a geometric problem of a higher-dimensional gravitational system, making the calculations feasible. This allows holographic theory to provide new perspectives and valuable insights into strongly interacting quantum matter. 3. **Study of Rotating Black Holes**: Rotating black holes have long been a subject of gravitational research. These studies have laid the foundation for constructing the holographic dual of strongly coupled rotating fluids and using rotating black holes to investigate their properties and dynamics. Through holographic methods, it becomes easier to study the impact of rotation on characteristic modes. 4. **Key Results**: A key finding of the paper is that, although in the large black hole limit, hydrodynamic perturbations at high temperatures would view the rotating holographic fluid as an accelerating fluid, the rotating holographic fluid is not actually a simple accelerating fluid. This means that hydrodynamic behavior still exists at lower temperatures, but the transport coefficients differ from those of an accelerating fluid. In summary, the paper aims to explore the dynamic behavior of strongly coupled fluids under rotational conditions through holographic theory and to reveal their differences from traditional accelerating fluids.
