Abstract:In a 3-3-1 model with inverse seesaw neutrinos, we use a simple form of Higgs potential to give four CP-even Higgs bosons ($H \equiv h^0_1,h^0_2,h^0_3,h^0_4$). We investigate $H \rightarrow \mu \tau$ decays in the parameter space regions satisfying the experimental limits of $l_a \rightarrow l_b \gamma$ with running parameters being the mass of the charged Higgs boson ($m_{H_1^\pm}$) and the mixing matrix of the heavy neutrinos ($M_R$). We show that there exist regions of parameter space where all partial widths $\Gamma (H \rightarrow \mu \tau)$ are less than the current experimental limit ($4.1 \times 10^{-6} GeV$). Analyzing the contributing components to $\Gamma (H \rightarrow \mu \tau)$, we also compare the mass of the SM-like Higgs boson with the corresponding ones of the other CP-even Higgs bosons in this model.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
### What problem does this paper attempt to solve? This paper aims to explore the process of CP - even Higgs boson decaying into \( H \to \mu\tau \) in the 3 - 3 - 1 model (neutrinos with the inverse seesaw mechanism). Specifically, the research objectives include: 1. **Determination of parameter space**: Find the regions of parameter space that satisfy the experimental constraints \( l_a \to l_b \gamma \). These constraints mainly come from the experimental observations of charged lepton flavor - violating (cLFV) processes. 2. **Calculation of partial width**: Analyze and calculate the partial width \( \Gamma(H \to \mu\tau) \) of the \( H \to \mu\tau \) decay, ensuring that its value is less than the current experimental upper limit of \( 4.1\times 10^{-6}\, \text{GeV} \). 3. **Comparison of SM - like Higgs and other CP - even Higgs masses**: By analyzing the contributing components, compare the mass of the Standard Model (SM) - like Higgs boson with the masses of other CP - even Higgs bosons in this model. 4. **Prediction of CP - even Higgs mass**: Based on the above analysis, predict the masses of other CP - even Higgs bosons and verify whether they conform to the known experimental and theoretical constraints. ### Research background In recent years, with the continuous accumulation of precise experimental data, more and more evidence indicates the existence of lepton flavor - violating (LFV) processes. In particular, two important processes have attracted wide attention: - Charged lepton flavor - violating decay (cLFV) - Lepton flavor - violating decay of Standard Model - like Higgs bosons (LFVHDs) From an experimental perspective, the branching ratios of cLFV have the following upper limits: \[ \begin{aligned} &\text{Br}(\mu \to e\gamma) < 4.2\times 10^{-13}, \\ &\text{Br}(\tau \to e\gamma) < 3.3\times 10^{-8}, \\ &\text{Br}(\tau \to \mu\gamma) < 4.4\times 10^{-8}. \end{aligned} \] For LFVHDs, the experimental upper limits are: \[ \begin{aligned} &\text{Br}(h \to \mu\tau) \leq O(10^{-3}), \\ &\text{Br}(h \to \tau e) \leq O(10^{-3}), \\ &\text{Br}(h \to \mu e) < 6.1\times 10^{-5}. \end{aligned} \] Theoretically, models beyond the Standard Model (BSM) can explain these lepton flavor - violating phenomena. For example, some studies show that in supersymmetric and non - supersymmetric models, \( \text{Br}(h_1^0 \to \mu\tau) \) can reach \( O(10^{-4}) \), while in the absence of heavy neutrino contributions, this branching ratio may be only \( O(10^{-9}) \). ### Model overview The authors chose the 3 - 3 - 1 model, in which the inverse seesaw mechanism is introduced to generate neutrino masses. This model allows the study of two main sources of lepton flavor violation: 1. Generation of neutrino masses through effective operators 2. Generation of neutrino masses through the inverse seesaw mechanism (331ISS) Both methods have produced good results for LFVHD, and even show that the branching ratio can reach \( \text{Br}(h_1^0 \to \mu\tau) = O(10^{-5}) \). However, the 331ISS model still has some unsolved problems, such as whether \( \text{Br}(h \to l_a l_b) \) is excluded within the parameter space region that satisfies the experimental constraints of \( l_a \to l_b \gamma \), \( \Gamma(H \to \mu\)
