Abstract:It is believed that gravity can be considered as a quantum coherent mediator. In this study, we propose a plan to test the existence of extra dimensions using the Quantum Gravity Induced Entanglement of Masses (QGEM) experiment. This experiment involves two freely falling test masses passing through a Stern-Gerlach-like device. We investigate the entanglement witness between these masses within the framework of the Randall-Sundrum II model (RS-II). Our findings indicate that the system reaches entanglement more rapidly in the presence of extra dimensions, particularly when the radius of the extra dimension is large.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The main objective of this paper is to test the existence of extra dimensions through the Quantum Gravity Induced Entanglement of Masses (QGEM) experiment and to study the impact of extra dimensions on the gravitational potential and particle entanglement phenomena. Specifically, the paper proposes the following points: 1. **Experimental Design**: Observing the entanglement phenomenon between two freely falling masses interacting in a setup similar to a Stern-Gerlach apparatus. The experiment is based on the Randall-Sundrum II model (RS-II) and explores the impact of extra dimensions on quantum entanglement. 2. **Theoretical Background**: The theory of extra dimensions can solve some fundamental physical problems, such as the hierarchy problem and the cosmological constant problem. The RS-II model assumes the existence of a curved extra dimension, whose correction to the gravitational potential affects the entanglement phenomenon between particles. 3. **Experimental Results**: In the presence of extra dimensions, the entanglement phenomenon of the system develops faster, especially when the curvature radius of the extra dimension is larger. This phenomenon can be explained by the correction to the gravitational potential. 4. **Conclusion**: In the RS-II extra dimension model, compared to the four-dimensional theory, the entanglement witness value of particles reaches 1 faster, indicating that extra dimensions significantly affect the evolution speed of quantum states. Overall, this paper aims to explore the existence of extra dimensions and their impact on gravity and quantum mechanics through quantum entanglement experiments.
