Abstract:In this paper, we provide a symmetric formula and a duality formula relating multiple zeta values and zeta-star values. Leveraging Zagier's formula for computing $\zeta^\star(\{2\}^p,3,\{2\}^q)$, we employ our theorems to establish a formula for computing $\zeta^\star(\{2\}^p,1,\{2\}^q)$ for any positive integers $p$ and $q$, along with other formulas of interest.

Abstract:We consider the problem of deducing the duality relation from the extended double shuffle relation for multiple zeta values. Especially we prove that the duality relation for double zeta values and that for the sum of multiple zeta values whose first components are 2's are deduced from the derivation relation, which is known as a subclass of the extended double shuffle relation.

Abstract:In their seminal paper "Double zeta values and modular forms" Gangl, Kaneko and Zagier defined a double Eisenstein series and used it to study the relations between double zeta values. One of their key ideas is to study the formal double space and apply the double shuffle relations. They also proved the double shuffle relations for the double Eisenstein series. More recently, Kaneko and Tasaka extended the double Eisenstein series to level 2, proved its double shuffle relations and studied the double zeta values of level 2. Motivated by the above works, we define in this paper the corresponding objects at higher levels and prove that the double Eisenstein series of level N satisfies the double shuffle relations for every positive integer N. In order to obtain our main theorem we prove a key result on the multiple divisor functions of level N and then use it to solve a complicated under-determined system of linear equations by some standard techniques from linear algebra.

Abstract:The shuffle relation among multiple zeta values is algebraically expressed as the shuffle algebra. In this paper, the shuffle algebra structure for multiple zeta values is extended to a Hopf algebra structure, for which the key idea is the lifting of the shuffle multiplication to Chen fractions as the function multiplication. The linear span of Chen fractions can be equipped with a locality Hopf algebra structure, and the pushforward of the coproduct gives us the desired construction on the shuffle algebra.

Generalisations of multiple zeta values to rooted forests

Abstract:We show that any convergent (shuffle) arborified zeta value admits a series representation. This justifies the introduction of a new generalisation to rooted forests of multiple zeta values, and we study its algebraic properties. As a consequence of the series representation, we derive elementary proofs of some results of Bradley and Zhou for Mordell-Tornheim zeta values and give explicit formulas. The series representation for shuffle arborified zeta values also implies that they are conical zeta values. We characterise which conical zeta values are arborified zeta values and evaluate them as sums of multiple zeta values with rational coefficients.

Extended Shuffle Product for Multiple Zeta Values

Abstract:The shuffle product on positive integer points, which corresponds to the shuffle algebra for multiple zeta values, is extended uniquely to all integer points, by making the linear operator which decreases the first entry by one a differential operator. We then show that all convergent integer points form a subalgebra under this extended shuffle product. By lifting the extended shuffle product to the locality algebra of Chen symbols, we prove that the multiple zeta series defines an algebra homomorphism from the subalgebra of convergent points to real numbers, which shows that the extended shuffle product is a structure for convergent integer points.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain a restricted decomposition formula for interpolated multiple zeta values using t-stuffle product. We then derive a recursive formula of t-stuffle product, which also provides a route to the same formula. In both cases, combinatorial description of t-stuffle product is our basic tool. We also provide alternative proofs by mathematical induction for some of the results.

Abstract:We provide a multiple integral representation for each multiple zeta-star value, and utilize these representations to establish a natural order structure on the set of such values. This order structure allows for a one-to-one correspondence between a subset of the infinite sequences of natural numbers and the half line $(1,+\infty)$. Some basic properties of this correspondence are discussed. We also calculate the Hausdorff dimensions for the images of some subsets of the infinite sequences under this correspondence. As a result of this correspondence, we are able to determine the limits for a number of natural multiple integrals. Our analysis also reveals that the set of multiple zeta-star values is dense within the $(1,+\infty)$ domain, and that each value is non-integer in nature.

Abstract:The duality relation is a basic family of linear relations for multiple zeta values. The extended double shuffle relation (EDSR) is one of the families of relations expected to generate all linear relations among multiple zeta values, but it remains unclear as to whether all duality relations can be deduced from the EDSR. In the present paper, regarding the family generated by the duality relation and the family generated by the derivation relation, an explicit characterization of their intersection is obtained. Here, the derivation relation is a specialization of the EDSR.

Abstract:In \cite{IKLNDP23} we presented a systematic study of algebra structures of multiple zeta values in positive characteristic introduced by Thakur as analogues of classical multiple zeta values of Euler. In this paper we construct algebra and Hopf algebra structures of alternating multiple zeta values introduced by Harada, extending our previous work. Our results could be considered as an analogue of those of Hoffman \cite{Hof00} and Racinet \cite{Rac02} in the classical setting. The proof is based on two new ingredients: the first one is a direct and explicit construction of the shuffle Hopf algebra structure, and the second one is the notion of horizontal maps.

Abstract:Weighted enumeration of reduced pipe dreams (or rc-graphs) results in a combinatorial expression for Schubert polynomials. The duality between the set of reduced pipe dreams and certain antidiagonals has important geometric implications [A. Knutson and E. Miller, Gr\"obner geometry of Schubert polynomials, Ann. Math. 161, 1245-1318]. The original proof of the duality was roundabout, relying on the algebra of certain monomial ideals and a recursive characterization of reduced pipe dreams. This paper provides a direct combinatorial proof.
