Abstract:It is shown how to non-perturbatively define a random matrix model that captures key physics of ${\cal N}{=}2$ Jackiw-Teitelboim (JT) supergravity, going well beyond the perturbative topological expansion defined recently by Turiaci and Witten. A decomposition into an infinite family of certain minimal models is derived, leading to the definition of a non-linear differential equation from which the physics may be computed. BPS states are naturally described by the model. The non-perturbative completions of the spectral densities for non-BPS multiplets are readily extracted.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The key problem that this paper attempts to solve is to provide a non - perturbative - defined random matrix model to capture the key physical properties of N = 2 Jackiw - Teitelboim (JT) supergravity. Specifically, the author attempts to go beyond the previously defined models only at the topological expansion level, and by decomposing into an infinite number of minimal models, derive a nonlinear differential equation, so as to be able to calculate these physical properties. In addition, this model naturally describes BPS states and can conveniently extract the non - perturbative completeness of the spectral density of non - BPS multiplets. ### Main contributions: 1. **Non - perturbative definition**: The paper proposes a non - perturbative - defined random matrix model, which describes the physical properties of N = 2 JT supergravity more comprehensively than the previous perturbative methods. 2. **Minimal model decomposition**: By decomposing into an infinite number of minimal models, the author derives a nonlinear differential equation that can be used to calculate physical quantities. 3. **Description of BPS states**: The model naturally describes BPS states and can extract the non - perturbative completeness of the spectral density of non - BPS multiplets. 4. **Non - perturbative results**: Through numerical methods, the author shows how to extract specific physical results, such as spectral density and wave functions, from non - perturbative equations. ### Specific technical details: - **String equation**: The central equation is a nonlinear ordinary differential equation: \[ uR^{2}-\frac{\hbar^{2}}{2}R''+\frac{\hbar^{2}}{4}(R')^{2}=\hbar^{2}\Gamma^{2} \] where \(R\equiv\sum_{k = 1}^{\infty}t_{k}R_{k}[u]+x\), and \(R_{k}[u]\) is a polynomial of the function \(u(x)\) and its derivatives. - **Spectral density**: The spectral density can be calculated through the wave function \(\psi(x, E)\): \[ \rho(E)=\int_{-\infty}^{\mu}|\psi(x, E)|^{2}dx \] where \(\mu\) is determined by matching disk - level physics. - **Minimal model decomposition**: For the cases of \(E_{0}=0\) and \(E_{0}\neq0\), different minimal model decomposition methods are given respectively, ensuring the non - perturbative completeness of the model. ### Conclusion: The paper successfully provides a non - perturbative - defined random matrix model, which can not only capture the key physical properties of N = 2 JT supergravity, but also can naturally describe the spectral densities of BPS and non - BPS states. This result provides a powerful tool for further research on the microscopic details of quantum gravity.
