Abstract:When digital signature is applied on low-power devices, like smart cards, wireless sensors and RFID tags, some specific properties, e.g., better offline storage, more modular and flexible deployment, are desired. To meet these needs, a new variant of the Fiat-Shamir transformation for digital signatures, referred to as Γ -transformation, is introduced and formalized in this work. Following this new transformation approach, some new signature schemes (referred to as Γ-signatures) are presented and discussed. In particular, it is shown that the Γ-signatures for discrete logarithm problem (DLP) developed in this work combine, in essence, the advantages of both Schnorr's signature and the digital signature standard (DSS), while saving from the disadvantages of them both.

Abstract:This paper addresses the problem of ensuring the integrity of a digital video and presents a scalable signature scheme for video authentication based on cryptographic secret sharing. The proposed method detects spatial cropping and temporal jittering in a video, yet is robust against frame dropping in the streaming video scenario. In our scheme, the authentication signature is compact and independent of the size of the video. Given a video, we identify the key frames based on differential energy between the frames. Considering video frames as shares, we compute the corresponding secret at three hierarchical levels. The master secret is used as digital signature to authenticate the video. The proposed signature scheme is scalable to three hierarchical levels of signature computation based on the needs of different scenarios. We provide extensive experimental results to show the utility of our technique in three different scenarios-streaming video, video identification and face tampering.

Abstract:Based on Schnorr algorithm, by adopting ID code and time-limit approaches, propose two multisignature schemes which can prevent repeated broadcast attack and malicious delay in the process. For most of the computational effort for signature generation can be done in preprocessing stage, both identification and signature with high efficiency, and it's security is based on the difficulty of discrete logarithms problem. In the end, analyze the two schemes' security and efficiency in detail.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose three digital signature schemes based on the algebraic structure of group ring. The first scheme is a deterministic signature scheme, the second scheme is a probabilistic signature scheme whereas the third scheme is an uplifting of the NTRU signature scheme in group ring. We carefully discuss the security of these schemes by studying the hardness of the associated hard problems. We show that our schemes, with parameters of small size, provide the security equivalent to the security provided by the current secure implementations of discrete logarithm problem (e.g. 128 bits). We also discuss some examples to see the practicality of our schemes. This paper is the first advancement in the field of group ring based digital signatures.

Abstract:Digital signature is one of the basic primitives in cryptography. A common paradigm of obtaining signatures, known as the Fiat-Shamir (FS) paradigm, is to collapse any Σ-protocol (which is 3-round public-coin honest-verifier zero-knowledge) into a non-interactive scheme with hash functions that are modeled to be random oracles (RO). The Digital Signature Standard (DSS) and Schnorr’s signature schemes are two salient examples following the FS-paradigm. In this work, we present a modified Fiat-Shamir paradigm, named challenge-divided Fiat-Shamir paradigm, which is applicable to a variant of Σ-protocol with divided random challenges. This new paradigm yields a new family of (online/offline efficient) digital signatures from challenge-divided Σ-protocols, including in particular a variant of Schnorr’s signature scheme called challenge-divided Schnorr signature. We then present a formal analysis of the challenge-divided Schnorr signature in the random oracle model. Finally, we give comparisons between the challenge-divided Schnorr signature and DSS and Schnorr’s signature, showing that the newly developed challenge-divided Schnorr signature can enjoy better (online/offline) efficiency (besides provable security in the random oracle model). Of independent interest is a new forking lemma, referred to as divided forking lemma, for dealing with multiple ordered rewinding points in the RO model, which is of independent interest and can be applied to analyzing other cryptographic schemes in the RO model.

Abstract:Digital signature schemes based on public-key cryptosystems generally permit existential forgery, except the schemes are equipped with some message formatting mechanisms, such as using hash functions or padding redundancies. In 2004, Chang et al. proposed a new digital signature scheme, and claimed the scheme without using any hash function or padding any redundancy can resist forgery attacks. However, many attacks on Chang et al.’s scheme were presented. Kang et al. also gave an effective improvement to resist these forgery attacks. In this letter, we gave a further improvement to shorten the signed signature. Our improvement keeps the security of Kang et al.’s scheme and makes it more efficient in computation and communication.

Abstract:Digital signature is one of the most important primitives in public key cryptography. It provides authenticity, integrity and non- repudiation to many kinds of applications. On signer privacy however, it is generally unclear or suspicious of whether a signature scheme itself can guarantee the anonymity of the signer. In this paper, we give some armative answers to it. We formally define the signer anonymity for digital signature and propose some schemes of this type. We show that a signer anonymous signature scheme can be very useful by proposing a new anonymous key exchange protocol which allows a client Alice to establish a session key with a server Bob securely while keeping her iden- tity secret from eavesdroppers. In the protocol, the anonymity of Alice is already maintained when Alice sends her signature to Bob in clear, and no additional encapsulation or mechanism is needed for the signa- ture. We also propose a method of using anonymous signature to solve the collusion problem between organizers and reviewers of an anonymous paper review system.

Abstract:The notion of transitive signature, firstly introduced by Micali and Rivest, is a way to digitally sign the vertices and edges of a dynamically growing, transitively closed graph. All the previous proposed transitive signature schemes were constructed from discrete logarithm, factoring, or RSA assumption. In this paper, we introduce two alternative realizations of transitive signature based on bilinear maps. The proposed transitive signature schemes possess the following properties: (i) they are provably secure against adaptive chosen-message attacks in the random oracle model; (ii) there are no need for node certificates in our transitive signature schemes, so the signature algebra is compact; (iii) if using Weil pairing, our signature schemes are more efficient than all previous proposed schemes.

Abstract:To solve the key escrow problem in identity-based cryptosystem, Al-Riyami et al. introduced the CertificateLess Public Key Cryptography (CL-PKC). As an important cryptographic primitive, CertificateLess Designated Verifier Signature (CLDVS) scheme was studied widely. Following Al-Riyami et al. work, many certificateless Designated Verifier Signature (DVS) schemes using bilinear pairings have been proposed. But the relative computation cost of the pairing is approximately twenty times higher than that of the scalar multiplication over elliptic curve group. In order to improve the performance we propose a certificateless DVS scheme without bilinear pairings. With the running time of the signature being saved greatly, our scheme is more practical than the previous related schemes for practical application.

Abstract:The concept of multisignature, in which multiple signers can cooperate to sign the same message and any verifier can verify the validity of the multi-signature, was first introduced by Itakura and Nakamura. Several multisignature schemes have been proposed since. Chen et al. proposed a new digital multi-signature scheme based on the elliptic curve cryptosystem recently. In this paper, we show that their scheme is insecure, for it is vulnerable to the so-called active attacks, such as the substitution of a “false” public key to a “true” one in a key directory or during transmission. And then the attacker can sign a legal signature which other users have signed and forge a signature himself which can be accepted by the verifier.

Abstract:The present paper builds upon prior research on an id scheme that utilizes a compact knapsack problem defined by a single equation. We introduce a three-move id scheme founded on a compact knapsack problem defined by an integer matrix. Through our analysis, we investigate the possible lattice-based attacks on this problem. Additionally, we present the corresponding digital signature gained through the Fiat–Shamir transform and demonstrate its security under ROM. These cryptographic primitives are potentially post quantum resistant.

Abstract:There are several attempts to build asymmetric pubic key encryption schemes based on multivariate polynomials of degree two over a finite field. However, most of them are insecure. The common defect in many of them comes from the fact that certain quadratic forms associated with their central maps have low rank, which makes them vulnerable to the MinRank attack. We propose a new simple and efficient multivariate pubic key encryption scheme based on matrix multiplication, which does not have such a low rank property. The new scheme will be called Simple Matrix Scheme or ABC in short. We also propose some parameters for practical and secure implementation.

Abstract:The paper explores a novel cryptosystem for digital signatures based on linear equa-tions for logarithmic signatures. A logarithmic signature serves as a fundamental cryptographic primitive, characterized by properties such as nonlinearity, non-commutability, unidirectionality, and key-dependent factorability. The proposed cryptosystem ensures the secrecy of logarithmic signatures through its foundation in linear equations. Quantum security is achieved by eliminating any possible mapping between the input and output of the logarithmic signature, thereby rendering Grover's quantum attack ineffective. The public key sizes for the NIST security levels of 128, 192, and 256 bits are 1, 1.5, and 2 KB, respectively. The algorithm demonstrates scalability concerning computational costs, memory usage, and hardware limitations without compromising security. Its primary operation involves bitwise XOR over logarithmic arrays of 8, 16, 32, and 64 bits.

Abstract:An encryption method is presented with the novel property that publicly revealing an encryption key does not thereby reveal the corresponding decryption key. This has two important consequences: (1) Couriers or other secure means are not needed to transmit keys, since a message can be enciphered using an encryption key publicly revealed by the intented recipient. Only he can decipher the message, since only he knows the corresponding decryption key. (2) A message can be “signed” using a privately held decryption key. Anyone can verify this signature using the corresponding publicly revealed encryption key. Signatures cannot be forged, and a signer cannot later deny the validity of his signature. This has obvious applications in “electronic mail” and “electronic funds transfer” systems. A message is encrypted by representing it as a number M, raising M to a publicly specified power e, and then taking the remainder when the result is divided by the publicly specified product, n , of two large secret primer numbers p and q. Decryption is similar; only a different, secret, power d is used, where e * d ≡ 1(mod (p - 1) * (q - 1)). An Efficient Batch Verifying Scheme for Detecting Illegal Signatures.

Abstract:In a batch verifying scheme, multiple RSA digital signatures can be verified simultaneously in just one exponential operation time. Currently, the verifier could not easily detect where the signature-verification fault was located in most schemes, if the batch verification fails. In this article, we proposed a new batch verifying multiple RSA digital signatures scheme based on a cube. The scheme can detect accurately where the signature-verification fault is located. Moreover, once the total number of signatures is fixed, the size of exponentiation operations is independent from the number of illegal signatures in our scheme. Therefore, our scheme has a better performance and higher efficiency than the previous ones. Finally, we described an extend batch verifying scheme under the condition of n-dimension.

Abstract:Now the generally used digital signatures are all based on group.In this paper,the digital signature based on semi-group is discussed.Firstly,oppugn the digital signature scheme mentioned in reference[1].If this scheme is adopted,by using the signature｛b,c,D｝for message M,the signature for message M″ can be easily forged as｛b,M-M″+c,D｝.In order to avoid this issue,two possible amendments are applied to the polynomial form used in the original scheme.Through analyzing the original and two proposed improved schemes,a conclusion can be made that the digital signature based on semi-group has weak ability for risk,which is due to non-order and non-modular computation which is semi-group's character.
