Abstract:We construct by convex integration examples of energy dissipating solutions to the 2D Euler equations on $\mathbb{R}^2$ with vorticity in the real Hardy space $H^p(\mathbb{R}^2)$, for any $2/3<p<1$.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is related to the non - uniqueness of solutions and energy dissipation of the 2D Euler equations in Hardy spaces. Specifically, the author constructs solutions with specific vorticity properties through the convex integration method, demonstrating the existence and non - uniqueness of solutions to the 2D incompressible Euler equations when the initial data is relatively "rough". ### Core Problems of the Paper 1. **Non - uniqueness**: For a given initial condition, do multiple different weak solutions exist? 2. **Energy dissipation**: Can these solutions exhibit the energy dissipation phenomenon, that is, can the kinetic energy decrease over time? ### Mathematical Background The 2D Euler equations describe the velocity field \( \mathbf{u} \) and pressure field \( p \) of a two - dimensional incompressible fluid, and their form is: \[ \begin{cases} \partial_t \mathbf{u} + \nabla \cdot (\mathbf{u} \otimes \mathbf{u}) + \nabla p = 0, \\ \nabla \cdot \mathbf{u} = 0, \\ \mathbf{u}(\cdot, 0) = \mathbf{u}_0, \end{cases} \] where \( \mathbf{u} : \mathbb{R}^2\times[0, 1]\to\mathbb{R}^2 \) is the velocity field, and \( p : \mathbb{R}^2\times[0, 1]\to\mathbb{R} \) is the pressure field. ### Main Contributions - **Non - uniqueness results**: The author proves that for any \( \frac{2}{3}<p < 1 \), there exists an initial energy distribution \( e(t)\in C^\infty([0, 1];[\frac{1}{2}, 1]) \) such that there exists a solution \( \mathbf{u}\in C([0, 1], L^2(\mathbb{R}^2)) \) satisfying: - \( \int_{\mathbb{R}^2}|\mathbf{u}|^2(t)\,dx = e(t) \) - \( \text{curl}\,\mathbf{u}\in C([0, 1], H^p(\mathbb{R}^2)) \) - **Energy dissipation solutions**: In particular, there exist energy dissipation solutions \( \mathbf{u}\in C_tL^2_x \) satisfying \( \text{curl}\,\mathbf{u}\in C_tH^p_x \). ### Methodology - **Convex integration method**: By constructing rapidly oscillating perturbation terms, gradually reduce the error, and finally obtain the required solution. - **Application of Hardy spaces**: Utilize the properties of Hardy spaces \( H^p \) to handle the vorticity estimation problem, especially for the case of \( p < 1 \). ### Conclusion This paper shows that in Hardy spaces, the solutions of the 2D Euler equations can be non - unique, and these solutions can exhibit the energy dissipation phenomenon. This result is of great significance for understanding the complex behaviors in fluid mechanics.
