Abstract:There is a surge of research devoted to the formalism and physical manifestations of non-Lorentzian kinematical symmetries, which focuses especially on the ones associated with the Galilei and Carroll relativistic limits (the speed of light taken to infinity or to zero, respectively). The investigations have also been extended to quantum deformations of the Carrollian and Galilean symmetries, in the sense of (quantum) Hopf algebras. The case of 2+1 dimensions is particularly worth to study due to both the mathematical nature of the corresponding (classical) theory of gravity, and the recently finalized classification of all quantum-deformed algebras of spacetime isometries. Consequently, the list of all quantum deformations of (anti-)de Sitter-Carroll algebra is immediately provided by its well-known isomorphism with either Poincaré or Euclidean algebra. Quantum contractions from the (anti-)de Sitter to (anti-)de Sitter-Carroll classification allow to almost completely recover the latter. One may therefore conjecture that the analogous contractions from the (anti-)de Sitter to (anti-)de Sitter-Galilei $r$-matrices provide (almost) all coboundary deformations of (anti-)de Sitter-Galilei algebra. This scheme is complemented by deriving (Carrollian and Galilean) quantum contractions of deformations of Poincaré algebra, leading to coboundary deformations of Carroll and Galilei algebras.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is about the classification and research of quantum symmetries in 2 + 1 - dimensional space, especially for Carroll, (a)dS - Carroll, Galilei and (a)dS - Galilei symmetries. Specifically, the paper focuses on the quantum deformations of these non - Lorentzian dynamical symmetries, especially the deformations within the framework of quantum Hopf algebras. The main objectives of the paper can be summarized as follows: 1. **Classify quantum deformations**: The paper aims to provide a complete classification of all quantum deformations of the (a)dS - Carroll algebras and achieve this goal through known isomorphism relations (such as the isomorphisms between (a)dS - Carroll and Poincaré or Euclidean algebras). 2. **Quantum contractions**: The paper explores the quantum contraction process from (a)dS to (a)dS - Carroll, as well as the methods of deriving coboundary deformations of Carroll and Galilei algebras from the deformations of the Poincaré algebra. These contraction processes help to understand the relationships between different symmetries. 3. **Quantum deformations of Galilei algebras**: The paper also studies the quantum deformations of the (a)dS - Galilei algebras, especially the possibility of deriving these deformations from the (a)dS algebras through quantum contractions. 4. **Theoretical applications**: The paper discusses the potential applications of these quantum deformations in physical theories, especially in quantum gravity and string theory. For example, quantum deformations may be related to the non - commutative geometry of quantum gravity or to the Yang - Baxter deformations in the AdS/CFT correspondence. ### Specific problem analysis - **Carroll algebras and their deformations**: - Carroll algebras correspond to the ultra - relativistic limit (the speed of light tends to zero), and their dynamics are usually rather trivial unless particles interact or couple to gauge fields. - The paper derives coboundary deformations of Carroll algebras from known deformations of the Poincaré algebra through the quantum contraction method. - **Galilei algebras and their deformations**: - Galilei algebras correspond to the non - relativistic limit (the speed of light tends to infinity), and their dynamical characteristics are related to absolute time. - The paper derives coboundary deformations of Galilei algebras from the deformations of the Poincaré algebra through a similar method. - **(a)dS - Carroll and (a)dS - Galilei algebras**: - These algebras are generalizations of Carroll and Galilei algebras in the case of non - zero cosmological constants. - The paper provides a classification of the quantum deformations of these algebras and explores their relationships with the quantum deformations of Lorentz algebras. ### Mathematical tools - **Classical r - matrix**: The paper uses the concept of the classical r - matrix, which is an important tool for describing Lie bialgebra structures. The r - matrix satisfies the classical Yang - Baxter equation, which has the form: \[ [[r, r]] = t\Omega, \quad t\in\mathbb{C} \] where \([[\cdot,\cdot]]\) represents the Schouten bracket and \(\Omega\) is an invariant element of the algebra. - **Quantum contractions**: By appropriately taking the limit where the cosmological constant tends to zero, one can derive the deformations of Carroll and Galilei algebras from the deformations of the (a)dS algebras. ### Conclusion Through systematic classification and quantum contraction methods, the paper provides a comprehensive understanding of the quantum deformations of non - Lorentzian dynamical symmetries in 2 + 1 - dimensional space. These results are not only of great significance in mathematics but also have potential application values in physical theories, especially in the research of quantum gravity and string theory.
