Abstract:The main aim of this paper is to define a weakest topology $\sigma$ on a linear topological space $(E, \tau)$ such that each $\delta$-continuous functional on $(E, \tau)$ is $\delta$-continuous functional on $(E, \sigma)$ and to find out the relation between the set of these $\delta$-continuous functionals on $(E, \tau)$ and the set of all $\delta$-continuous functionals on $(E, \sigma)$. Also we find out the closure of a subset $A$ of $E$ on that weakest topology by the $\delta$-closure of $A$ with respect to the given topology.

Abstract:A characterization of unconditional convergent series is given for the case of sequentially complete locally convex spaces. From it we show that if E is a barrelled space with continuous dual E', then (E', beta(E', E)) contains no copy of (c(0), parallel to.parallel to(infinity)) if and only if every continuous linear operator T : E --> l(1) is both compact and sequentially compact.
Delta-points and their implications for the geometry of Banach spaces

Abstract:We show that the Lipschitz-free space with the Radon--Nikodým property and a Daugavet point recently constructed by Veeorg is in fact a dual space isomorphic to $\ell_1$. Furthermore, we answer an open problem from the literature by showing that there exists a superreflexive space, in the form of a renorming of $\ell_2$, with a $\Delta$-point. Building on these two results, we are able to renorm every infinite-dimensional Banach space with a $\Delta$-point. Next, we establish powerful relations between existence of $\Delta$-points in Banach spaces and their duals. As an application, we obtain sharp results about the influence of $\Delta$-points for the asymptotic geometry of Banach spaces. In addition, we prove that if $X$ is a Banach space with a shrinking $k$-unconditional basis with $k < 2$, or if $X$ is a Hahn--Banach smooth space with a dual satisfying the Kadets--Klee property, then $X$ and its dual $X^*$ fail to contain $\Delta$-points. In particular, we get that no Lipschitz-free space with a Hahn--Banach smooth predual contains $\Delta$-points. Finally we present a purely metric characterization of the molecules in Lipschitz-free spaces that are $\Delta$-points, and we solve an open problem about representation of finitely supported $\Delta$-points in Lipschitz-free spaces.

A note on continuous functions on metric spaces

Abstract:Continuous functions on the unit interval are relatively tame from the logical and computational point of view. A similar behaviour is exhibited by continuous functions on compact metric spaces equipped with a countable dense subset. It is then a natural question what happens if we omit the latter 'extra data', i.e. work with 'unrepresented' compact metric spaces. In this paper, we study basic third-order statements about continuous functions on such unrepresented compact metric spaces in Kohlenbach's higher-order Reverse Mathematics. We establish that some (very specific) statements are classified in the (second-order) Big Five of Reverse Mathematics, while most variations/generalisations are not provable from the latter, and much stronger systems. Thus, continuous functions on unrepresented metric spaces are 'wild', though 'more tame' than (slightly) discontinuous functions on the reals.

The Daugavet and Delta-constants of points in Banach spaces

Abstract:We introduce two new notions called the Daugavet constant and $\Delta$-constant of a point, which measure quantitatively how far the point is from being Daugavet point and $\Delta$-point and allow us to study Daugavet and $\Delta$-points in Banach spaces from a quantitative viewpoint. We show that these notions can be viewed as a localized version of certain global estimations of Daugavet and diametral local diameter two properties such as Daugavet indices of thickness. As an intriguing example, we present the existence of a Banach space $X$ in which all points on the unit sphere have positive Daugavet constants despite the Daugavet indices of thickness of $X$ being zero. Moreover, using the Daugavet and $\Delta$-constants of points in the unit sphere, we describe the existence of almost Daugavet and $\Delta$-points as well as the set of denting points of the unit ball. We also present exact values of the Daugavet and $\Delta$-constant on several classical Banach spaces, as well as Lipschitz-free spaces. In particular, it is shown that there is a Lipschitz-free space with a $\Delta$-point which is the furthest away from being a Daugavet point. Finally, we provide some related stability results concerning the Daugavet and $\Delta$-constant.

Abstract:The paper is devoted to developing subdifferential theory for set-valued mappings taking values in ordered infinite-dimensional spaces. This study is motivated by applications to problems of vector and set optimization with various constraints in infinite dimensions. The main results establish new sum and chain rules for major subdifferential constructions associated with ordered set-valued mappings under appropriate qualification and sequentially normal compactness conditions.

Abstract:Introducing a strong form of soft continuity between soft topological spaces is significant because it can contribute to our growing understanding of soft topological spaces and their features, provide a basis for creating new mathematical tools and methods, and have significant applications in various fields. In this paper, we define soft super-continuity as a new form of soft mapping. We present various characterizations of this soft concept. Also, we show that soft super-continuity lies strictly between soft continuity and soft complete continuity and that soft super-continuity is a strong form of soft δ -continuity. In addition, we give some sufficient conditions for the equivalence between soft super-continuity and other related concepts. Moreover, we characterize soft semi-regularity in terms of super-continuity. Furthermore, we provide several results of soft composition, restrictions, preservation, and products by soft super-continuity. In addition to these, we study the relationship between soft super-continuity and soft δ -continuity with their analogous notions in general topology. Finally, we give several sufficient conditions on a soft mapping to have a soft δ -closed graph.

Abstract:It is introduced the concept of a quasi-king space, which is a natural generalisation of a king space. In the realm of suborderable spaces, king spaces are precisely the compact spaces, so are the quasi-king spaces. In contrast, quasi-king spaces are more flexible in handling coarser selection topologies. The main purpose of this paper is to show that a weakly orderable space is quasi-king if and only if all of its coarser selection topologies are compact.

Abstract:In this paper, some features of countably $\alpha$-compact topological spaces are presented and proven. The connection between countably $\alpha$% -compact, Tychonoff, and $\alpha$-Hausdorff spaces is explained. The space is countably $\alpha$-compact space iff every locally finite family of non-empty subsets of such space is finite is demonstrated. The countably $% \alpha$-compact space with weight greater than or equal to $\aleph_0$ is the $\alpha$-continuous image of a closed subspace of the cube $D^{\aleph_0}$ is discussed. The boundedness of $\alpha$-continuous functions mapping $\alpha$% -compact spaces to other spaces is cleared. Moreover, the $\alpha$% -continuous function mapping the space $X$ to the countably $\alpha$-compact space $Y$ is an $\alpha$-closed subset of $X\times Y$ is argued and proved. We explained that the $\alpha$-continuous functions mapping any topological space to a countably $\alpha$-compact space can be extended over its domain under some constraints. We claimed that the property of being $\alpha$% -compact is countably $\alpha$-compact but the converse is not and the countable union of countably $\alpha$-compact subspaces of $X$ is also countably $\alpha$-compact.

Abstract:The famous Ascoli-Arzelà theorem served as a springboard for research into compactness in function spaces, particularly spaces of continuous functions. This paper investigates compact subsets of spaces of continuous functions endowed with topologies between the topology of pointwise convergence and the topology of uniform convergence. More precisely, this paper studies necessary and sufficient conditions for a subset to be compact in C λ , u ( X ) for a locally- λ space X when λ ⊇ F( X ), for a hemi- λ λ f -space X when λ ⊆ P S( X ), and for a k -space X when λ ⊇ K( X ). This paper also studies that every bounded subset of C λ , u ( X ) has compact closure for some classes of topological spaces X .

Abstract:Many studies have been conducted on statistical convergence, and it remains an area of active research. Since its introduction, statistical convergence has found applications many fields. Nevertheless, there is a shortage of research related to operator theory. As far as we know, no studies have focused on continuous, bounded, and compact operators, which are fundamental concepts in mathematics. We explore the notions of statistical boundedness, continuity, and compactness of operators between normed spaces, establishing connections between these concepts and their counterparts in traditional normed space theory. Additionally, we provide examples and results that demonstrate the behavior and implications of statistical convergence in the context of operators.

Abstract:We deal with topological spaces homeomorphic to their respective squares. Primarily, we investigate the existence of large families of such spaces in some subclasses of compact metrizable spaces. As our main result we show that there is a family of size continuum of pairwise non-homeomorphic compact metrizable zero-dimensional spaces homeomorphic to their respective squares. This answers a question of W. J. Charatonik. We also discuss the situation in the classes of continua, Peano continua and absolute retracts.

Abstract:One of the main obstacle to study compactness in topological spaces via ideals was the definition of ideal convergence of subsequences as in the existing literature according to which subsequence of an ideal convergent sequence may fail to be ideal convergent with respect to same ideal. This obstacle has been get removed in this article and notions of I compactness as well as I star compactness of topological spaces have been introduced and studied to some extent. Involvement of I nonthin subsequences in the definition of I and I star compactness make them different from compactness even in metric spaces.

Abstract:A collection D of subsets of a space is minimal if each element of D contains a point which is not contained in any other element of D. Abase of a topological space is sigma-minimal if it can be written as a union of countably many minimal collections. We will construct a compact linearly ordered space X satisfying that X is not metrizable and every subspace of X has a sigma-minimal base for its relative topology. This answers a problem of Bennett and Lutzer in the negative.

Abstract:This paper considers the fundamental properties of polytopes in Banach space. A norm is defined for the polytopes and the preliminarily properties are then analyzed. It is proved that the linear summation of two polytopes is still a polytope. For a given compact set, its polytope is compact if and only if the supporting space is with finite dimension. If the dimension of its supporting space is infinite, the polytope is totally bounded. The continuities of the polytopes is analyzed. It is verified it is lower semi-continuous, and the null set of weak inverse is a linear subspace.
