Abstract:We study canonical models of $\left(\mathbb{Z}/k\mathbb{Z}\right)^n$- covers of the projective line, tamely ramified at exactly $n+1$ points each of index $k$, when $k,n\geq 2$ and the characteristic of the ground field $K$ is either zero or does not divide $k$. We determine explicitly the structure of the respective homogeneous coordinate ring first as a graded $K$-algebra, next as a $\left(\mathbb{Z}/k\mathbb{Z}\right)^n$- representation over $K$, and then as a graded module over the polynomial ring; in the latter case, we give generators for its first syzygy module, which we also decompose as a direct sum of irreducible representations.
What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problems that this paper attempts to solve mainly focus on studying the canonical models of Generalized Fermat Curves (GFCs) and their related representation theories and homological properties. Specifically, the author is concerned with:
1. **Canonical models of Generalized Fermat Curves**: Study the canonical models of the Generalized Fermat Curves \(F_{k,n}\) under specific conditions (such as on a field \(K\) with characteristic zero or not dividing \(k\)). These curves are coverings of \(\mathbb{P}^1\) with \(n + 1\) branch points, and the ramification index of each branch point is \(k\).
2. **Homological properties**: Determine the structure of the homogeneous coordinate ring of these canonical models, especially as a graded \(K\)-algebra, a \((\mathbb{Z}/k\mathbb{Z})^n\)-representation, and a graded module over a polynomial ring.
3. **Generators and relations**: Give the generators of the first homology module of these rings and decompose it into a direct sum of irreducible representations.
### Specific problems
- **Structure of the homogeneous coordinate ring**: Determine the structure of the homogeneous coordinate ring \(S_{F_{k,n}}\) of the Generalized Fermat Curve \(F_{k,n}\), including its structure as a graded \(K\)-algebra, a \((\mathbb{Z}/k\mathbb{Z})^n\)-representation, and a graded module over a polynomial ring.
- **Generators and relations**: Find the generators of the first homology module of the homogeneous coordinate ring \(S_{F_{k,n}}\) and decompose it into a direct sum of irreducible representations.
- **Higher - order differential forms**: Study the basis of the global sections \(V_m=H^0(F_{k,n},\Omega^{\otimes m}_{F_{k,n}})\) of the higher - order differential forms \(\Omega^{\otimes m}_{F_{k,n}}\) and analyze the action of \((\mathbb{Z}/k\mathbb{Z})^n\) on these spaces.
### Background and motivation
- **Historical background**: The study of Generalized Fermat Curves originated from the study of classical Fermat Curves and Humbert Curves, which have specific ramification properties in the complex projective plane.
- **Modern development**: In recent years, Generalized Fermat Curves have been deeply studied in many aspects, including Fuchsian and Schottky uniformization, moduli space theory, Jacobian varieties, automorphism groups, etc.
- **Representation theory and homological algebra**: By studying the structure of the homogeneous coordinate ring, we can better understand the geometric and representation - theoretic properties of these curves, thus providing new perspectives and tools for broader mathematical problems.
### Main results
- **Basis of higher - order differential forms**: An explicit basis for the global sections of the higher - order differential forms \(\Omega^{\otimes m}_{F_{k,n}}\) is given.
- **Structure of the homogeneous coordinate ring**: The structure of the homogeneous coordinate ring \(S_{F_{k,n}}\) as a graded \(K\)-algebra, a \((\mathbb{Z}/k\mathbb{Z})^n\)-representation, and a graded module over a polynomial ring is determined.
- **Generators of homology modules**: The generators of the first homology module of the homogeneous coordinate ring are found and decomposed into a direct sum of irreducible representations.
Through these studies, the author not only deepens the understanding of Generalized Fermat Curves but also provides an important foundation for further research in related fields.
