Abstract:In this paper, we determine all the Narayana's cows numbers that are factorials or double factorials. We also show that 88 is the only repdigit (i.e., a class of numbers that has reflectional symmetry across a vertical axis) that can be written as the product of consecutive Narayana's cows numbers.

Abstract:Narayana's sequence is a ternary recurrent sequence defined by the recurrence relation $\mathcal{N}_n=\mathcal{N}_{n-1}+\mathcal{N}_{n-3}$ with initial terms $\mathcal{N}_0=0$ and $\mathcal{N}_1=\mathcal{N}_2=\mathcal{N}_3=1$. Let $\rho\geqslant2$ be a positive integer. In this study, it is proved that the $n$th Narayana's number $ \mathcal{N}_n$ which is concatenations of three repdigits in base $\rho$ satisfies $n<5.6\cdot 10^{48}\cdot \log^7\rho$. Moreover, it is shown that the largest Narayana's number which is concatenations of three repdigits in base $\rho$ with $1 \leqslant \rho \leqslant 10$ is $58425=\mathcal{N}_{31}=\overline{3332200}_5=\overline{332223}_7.$

Abstract:Narayana's cows problem is a problem similar to the Fibonacci's rabbit problem. We define the numbers which are the solutions of this problem as Narayana's cows numbers. Narayana's cows sequence satisfies the third order recurrence relation $N_{r}=N_{r-1}+N_{r-3}$ ($r\geq3$) with initial condition $N_{0} =0$, $N_{1} = N_{2}= 1$. In this paper, the $ar+b$ subscripted Narayana numbers will be expressed by three $a$ step apart Narayana numbers for any $1\leq b\leq a$ ($a\in \mathbb{Z}$). Furthermore, we study the sum $S_{N,r}^{(4,b)}=\sum_{k=0}^{r}N_{4k+b}$ of $4$ step apart Narayana numbers for any $1\leq b\leq 4$.

Abstract:Let be Narayana's cows sequence given by a recurrence relation for all , with initial conditions , and . In this paper, we find all members in Narayana's cows sequence that are palindromic concatenations of two distinct repdigits. Our proofs use techniques on Diophantine approximation which include the theory of linear forms in logarithms of algebraic numbers and Baker's reduction method. We show that 595 is the only member in Narayana's cow sequence that is a palindromic concatenation of two distinct repdigits in base 10.

Abstract:In 1998, in the winter issue of the journal Mathematics and Computer education (see [1]), Monte Zerger posed the following problem. He had noticed the Pythagorean triple (216,630,666);(216)^2+(630)^2=(666)^2. Note that 216=6^3 and 666 is the hypotenuse length. The question was then, whether there existed a digit d and a positive integer k(other than the above); such that d^k is the leglength of a Pythagorean triangle whose hypotenuse length has exactly k digits, each being equal to d. In 1999, <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://F.Luca" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> and <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://P.Bruckman" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a>, answered the above question in the negative. In 2001, <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://K.Zelator" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a>(see [2]), took this question further and showed that no Pythagorean triangle exists such that one leg has length d^k, while the other leglegth has exactly k digits in its decimal expansion, with each digit bein equal to d. In this work, we explore the above phenomenon from the point of view of number bases other than 10. We prove five Theorems. As an example, in Theorem 1, we prove that there exists no Pythagorean triangle with one of its leglengths being d^k, while the other leglength having exactly k digits in its base 4 expansion; and with digit being equal to d.

Abstract:Let $ k \geq 2 $ and let $ ( L_{n}^{(k)} )_{n \geq 2-k} $ be the $k-$generalized Lucas sequence with certain initial $ k $ terms and each term afterward is the sum of the $ k $ preceding terms. In this paper, we find all repdigits which are products of arbitrary three terms of $k-$generalized Lucas sequences. Thus, we find all non negative integer solutions of Diophantine equation $L_n^{(k)}L_m^{(k)}L_l^{(k)} =a \left( \dfrac{10^{d}-1}{9} \right)$ where $n\geq m \geq l \geq 0$ and $1 \leq a \leq 9.$

Abstract:In this paper, we explore the relationship between repdigits and associated Pell numbers, specifically focusing on two main aspects: expressing repdigits as the difference of two associated Pell numbers, and identifying which associated Pell numbers can be represented as the difference of two repdigits. Additionally, we investigate all associated Pell numbers which are concatenation of three repdigits. Our proof utilizes Baker's theory on linear forms in logarithms of algebraic numbers, along with the Baker-Davenport reduction technique. The computations were carried out with the help of a simple computer program in {\it Mathematica}.

Abstract:The question of which triangular numbers have a decimal representation containing a single repeated digit seamed to be settled since at least the 1970s: Ballew and Weger provided a complete list and a proof that these are the only numbers of this kind. This assertion is referenced by other authors in the field. However, their proof is flawed. We present a new and elementary proof of the statement, which corrects the error.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the diophantine equation σ_2(n)-n^2=An+B. We prove that except for finitely many computable solutions, all the solutions to this equation with (A,B)=(L_2m,F_2m^2-1) are n=F_2k+1F_2k+2m+1, where both F_2k+1 and F_2k+2m+1 are Fibonacci primes. Meanwhile, we show that the twin primes conjecture holds if and only if the equation σ_2(n)-n^2=2n+5 has infinitely many solutions.

Abstract:We first establish the result that the Narayana polynomials can be represented as the integrals of the Legendre polynomials. Then we represent the Catalan numbers in terms of the Narayana polynomials by three different identities. We give three different proofs for these identities, namely, two algebraic proofs and one combinatorial proof. Some applications are also given which lead to many known and new identities.

Abstract:In this study, we focus on finding the Pell and Pell-Lucas numbers which are concatenations of three repdigits. We show that these numbers are 169, 408, 985 and 198, 478, 1154, respectively. We use a lemma that provides a large upper bound for the subscript n in the equations and Baker’s theory of lower bounds for a nonzero linear form in logarithms of algebraic numbers. In addition, continued fraction expansions of some irrational numbers were calculated to show that some inequalities have no solution.
