Abstract:We study scalar field theory in one space and one time dimensions on a q-deformed space with static background. We write the Lagrangian and the equation of motion and solve it to the first order in $q-1$ where $q$ is the deformation parameter of the space.

Abstract:On a one-dimensional lattice without uniform interval, the Hermitian conjugation of a q-differential operator is discussed. Then a deformation of quantum mechanics in one dimension is presented. As an application, the harmonic oscillator is discussed. The energy spectrum and the eigenfunctions are shown to depend on an arbitrary deformation function. The deformed coherent states are also discussed. It is found that the completeness relation of coherent states holds for the case of q-coherent states, i.e. the deformation of the Heisenberg-Weyl algebra is a q-analogue Hopf algebra.

Abstract:In this paper, we adopt q -deformed binary operations, such as q -addition, q -subtraction, q -multiplication, and q -division, to construct the q -deformed Schrödinger equation in one dimension. We explore the mathematics involving q -deformed binary operations. We q -deform the ordinary commutator and the definition of Fock space in q -deformed quantum mechanics. As examples, we discuss the particle in a box and the harmonic oscillator.

Abstract:We construct the space of vector fields on quantum groups . Its elements are products of the known left invariant vector fields with the elements of the quantum group itself. We also study the duality between vector fields and 1-forms. The construction is easily generalized to tensor fields. A Lie derivative along any (also non left invariant) vector field is proposed. These results hold for a generic Hopf algebra.

Reviving QFT in $2+1$ de Sitter Spacetime

Abstract:We consider a conformally coupled scalar QFT on $2+1$ dimensional static Einstein universe $R \times S^2$, and write down the free theory Hilbert space. We explain that this theory is secretly a QFT in $2+1$ de Sitter space because all the quantum observables experience {\it quantum revivals}, which naturally restricts the timelike $R$ to the appropriate de Sitter time range. Our construction circumvents the causal obstruction to formulating QFT in de Sitter due to event horizons. There aren't any in static Einstein. The `unitary gauge' description of the theory is realized by the zonal harmonics $P_\ell(\hat n \cdot \hat n')$. We verify that interactions with conformally invariant external sources are mediated only by these modes. Hence these modes comprise the complete basis of the "bulk" theory. When the theory is cut off in the UV the basis dimension scales as the Bekenstein-Hawking formula.

Quantized $p$-form Gauge Field in D-dimensional de Sitter Spacetime

Abstract:In this work, we utilize the dynamic invariant method to obtain a solution for the time-dependent Schrödinger equation, aiming to explore the quantum theory of a $p$-form gauge field propagating in $D$-dimensional de Sitter spacetimes. Thus, we present a generalization, through the use of $p$-form gauge fields, of the quantization procedure for the scalar, electromagnetic, and Kalb-Ramond fields, all of which have been previously studied in the literature. We present an exact solution for the $p$-form gauge field when $D=2(p+1)$, and we highlight the connection of the $p=4$ case with the chiral $N=2$, $D=10$ superstring model. We could observe particle production for $D \neq 2(p+1)$ because the solutions are time-dependent. Additionally, observers in an accelerated co-moving reference frame will also experience a thermal bath. This could have significance in the realm of extra-dimensional physics and presents the intriguing prospect that precise observations of the Cosmic Microwave Background might confirm the presence of additional dimensions.

Localization of $q$-form field on squared curvature gravity domain wall brane coupling with gravity and background scalar

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate a $q$-form field, represented as $\displaystyle X_{M_1M_2...M_q}$, where $\displaystyle q$ indicates the number of indices, with special cases $\displaystyle q = 0, 1, 2$ corresponding to the scalar fields, vector fields, and Kalb-Ramond fields, respectively. Unlike the duality observed between scalar and vector fields in four-dimensional spacetime, $q$-form fields in higher dimensions correspond to a wider array of particles. We propose a novel localized Kaluza-Klein decomposition approach for the $q$-form field in a five-dimensional spacetime, considering its coupling with gravity and background scalar fields. This methodology enables the successful localization of the $q$-form field on a domain wall brane, leading to the derivation of zero modes, Schrödinger-like equations, and a four-dimensional effective action. Additionally, in order to stand for the coupling of the $q$-form field with gravity and scalar fields of the background spacetime, we propose a new coupling function $F(R,\varphi)$. Our analysis highlights the significance of the parameters $\displaystyle C_2$ and $\displaystyle t$ in the localization process.

Localization of $q-$form field on the brane-world by coupling with gravity

Abstract:The scalar fields, $U(1)$ gauge vector fields, and Kalb-Ramond fields are the $0$-form, 1-form, and 2-form fields, respectively. In four-dimensional space-time, free $q$-form fields are equivalent to scalar or vector fields by a duality, however, in higher-dimensional space-time, $q-$form fields correspond to new types of particles. In this paper, with considering a coupling mechanism between the kinetic term of the $q-$form fields and the background spacetime, we investigate the localization of Kaluza-Klein modes for the $q-$form fields on a $D-$dimensional Randall-Sundrum-like brane model. We demonstrate that the zero mode can be localized on the brane, and the massive Kaluza-Klein modes could be localized or quasi-localized on the brane when with certain value of parameters. Then, we present the localization of the scalar fields, $U(1)$ gauge vector fields, and 2-form Kalb-Ramond fields within a five-dimensional bulk spacetime. For a massless scalar field, an interesting characteristic emerges: When the parameter $t_2$ is negative, the zero mode is localized on both sides of the brane, whereas the massive Kaluza-Klein modes can be quasi-localized at the center of the brane.

Abstract:In this Letter we study the possibility of constructing two-field models from one-field models. The idea is to start with a given one-field model and use the deformation procedure to generate another one-field model, and then couple the two one-field models nontrivially, to get to a two-field model, together with some explicit topological solutions. We show with several distinct examples that the procedure works nicely and can be used generically.

Abstract:In this paper we study the structure of the manifold of solitary waves in some deformations of SO(2) symmetric two-component scalar field theoretical models in two-dimensional Minkowski space. The deformation is chosen in order to make the analogous mechanical system Hamilton-Jacobi separable in polar coordinates and displays a singularity at the origin of the internal plane. The existence of the singularity confers interesting and intriguing properties to the solitary waves or kink solutions.

Abstract:Considering homogeneous four-dimensional space-time geometries within real projective geometry provides a mathematically well-defined framework to discuss their deformations and limits without the appearance of coordinate singularities. On Lie algebra level the related conjugacy limits act isomorphically to concatenations of contractions. We axiomatically introduce projective quantum fields on homogeneous space-time geometries, based on correspondingly generalized unitary transformation behavior and projectivization of the field operators. Projective correlators and their expectation values remain well-defined in all geometry limits, which includes their ultraviolet and infrared limits. They can degenerate with support on space-time boundaries and other lower-dimensional space-time subspaces. We explore fermionic and bosonic superselection sectors as well as the irreducibility of projective quantum fields. Dirac fermions appear, which obey spin-statistics as composite quantum fields. The framework systematically formalizes and generalizes the ambient space techniques regularly employed in conformal field theory.

Abstract:We explore the mathematical relationship between holographic Wilsonian renormalization group(HWRG) and stochastic quantization(SQ) of scalar field theory with its generic mass, self-interaction and $n$-multiple-trace deformation on the $d$-dimensional conformal boundary defined in AdS$_{d+1}$ spacetime. We understand that once we define our Euclidean action, $S_E$ as $S_E\equiv -2S_B$, then the stochastic process will reconstruct the holographic Wilsonian renormalization group data via solving Langevin equation and computing stochastic correlation functions. The $S_B$ is given by $S_B=S_{\rm ct}+S_{\rm def}$, where $S_{\rm ct}$ is the boundary counter term and $S_{\rm def}$ is the boundary deformation which gives a boundary condition. In our study, we choose the boundary condition adding (marginal)$n$-multiple trace deformation to the holographic dual field theory. In this theory, we establish maps bewteen ficticious time, $t$ evolution of stochastic $n$-point, ($2n-2$)-point correlation functions and the (AdS)radial, $r$ evolution of $n$-multiple-trace and ($2n-2$)-multiple-trace deformations respectively once we take identifications of $r=t$ and between some of constants appearing in both sides.

Abstract:In the background of homogeneous and isotropic flat FLRW space-time, both classical and quantum cosmology has been studied for teleparallel dark energy (DE) model. Using Noether symmetry analysis, not only the symmetry vector but also the coupling function in the Lagrangian and the potential of the scalar field has been determined. Also symmetry analysis identifies a cyclic variable in the Lagrangian along the symmetry vector and as a result the Lagrangian simplifies to a great extend so that classical solution is obtained. Subsequently, in quantum cosmology Wheeler-DeWitt(WD) equation has been constructed and the quantum version of the conserved momenta corresponding to Noether symmetry identifies the periodic part of the wave function of the universe and as a result the Wheeler-DeWitt equation becomes solvable. Finally, quantum description shows finite non-zero probability at the classical big-bang singularity.

Geometrical deformation of brane matter field within $f(R,Q,P)$ gravity

Abstract:In the context of braneworld scenarios, the real scalar field plays a crucial role by providing thickness for brane. In this work, we investigate a codimension-one thick brane within the framework of $f(R,Q,P)$ gravity, where $R$ represents the curvature scalar, while $Q=R_{\mu\nu}R^{\mu\nu}$ and $P=R_{\mu\nu\alpha\beta}R^{\mu\nu\alpha\beta}$ are quadratic geometric invariants. Our interest is to investigate the influence of these invariants on the scalar field solution and the energy density of the brane. Furthermore, we analyze the localization of spin $1/2$ fermions and the gravitino by employing a Yukawa-like coupling with the scalar field background. Such a coupling is able to produce a normalizable zero-mode for both fields.

Janus Deformation of de Sitter Space and Transitions in Gravitational Algebras

Abstract:We consider a time-dependent $\mathcal{O}(1/G)$ deformation of pure de Sitter (dS) space in dS gravity coupled to a massless scalar field. It is the dS counterpart of the AdS Janus deformation and interpolates two asymptotically dS spaces in the far past and the far future with a single deformation parameter. The Penrose diagram can be elongated along the time direction indefinitely as the deformation becomes large. After studying the classical properties of the geometry such as the area theorem and the fluctuation by a matter field, we explore the algebraic structure of the field operators on the deformed spacetime. We argue that the algebra is a von Neumann factor of type II$_\infty$ for small deformations, but there occurs a transition to type I$_\infty$ as the deformation increases so that the neck region of the deformed space becomes a Lorentzian cylinder.

Abstract:We provide a deformation quantization, in the sense of Rieffel, for all globally hyperbolic space-times with a Poisson structure. The Poisson structures have to satisfy Fedosov type requirements in order for the deformed product to be associative. We apply the novel deformation to quantum field theories and their respective states and we prove that the deformed state (i.e. a state in non-commutative spacetime) has a singularity structure resembling Minkowski, i.e. is Hadamard, if the undeformed state is Hadamard. This proves that the Hadamard condition, and hence the quantum field theoretical implementation of the equivalence principle is a general concept that holds in spacetimes with quantum features (i.e. a non-commutative spacetime).

Supersymmetric Backgrounds in $(1+1)$ Dimensions and Inhomogeneous Field Theory

Abstract:We find a $(1+1)$-dimensional metric solution for a background hosting various supersymmetric field theories with a single non-chiral real supercharge. This supersymmetric background is globally hyperbolic even though it contains a naked null singularity. In this regard, we show that scalar wave propagation on the background is well-defined and so the curvature singularity is a {\it mild} one. Taking inspiration from our previous work, we relate the field theory on this curved background to some classes of $(1+1)$-dimensional inhomogeneous field theory in the supersymmetric setup. Utilizing our supersymmetric background, we elucidate the limitations of canonical quantization and highlight the conceptual advantages of the algebraic approach to quantization.

Noncommutative scalar field theory in a curved background: duality between noncommutative and effective commutative description

Abstract:We study a noncommutative (NC) deformation of a charged scalar field, minimally coupled to a classical (commutative) Reissner Nordstrom like background. The deformation is performed via a particularly chosen Killing twist to ensure that the geometry remains undeformed (commutative). An action describing a NC scalar field minimally coupled to the RN geometry is manifestly invariant under the deformed U(1) gauge symmetry. We find the equation of motion and conclude that the same equation is obtained from the commutative theory in a modified geometrical background described by an effective metric. This correspondence we call duality between formal and effective approach. We also show that a NC deformation via semi Killing twist operator cannot be rewriten in terms of an effective metric. There is a dual description for those particular deformations.

2+1 homogeneous Loop Quantum Gravity with a scalar field clock

Abstract:We focus on three-dimensional QRLG with the purpose of shedding light on the link between reduced LQG and LQC in four space-time dimensions. Considering homogeneous three-dimensional LQG, the theory simplifies to QRLG. We then implement Thiemannu0027s Quantum Spin Dynamics for Euclidean three-dimensional space-time in presence of a real scalar matter field. We deploy a polymer quantization of the scalar field while using methods of quantum reduced loop gravity. We compute the scalar Hamiltonian operator on the states of the kinematical Hilbert space of the theory, and exhibit its matrix elements that are derived using a new simplified method. The coupling to matter, which plays the role of a carrier of dynamics, opens the pathway to the study of phenomenological implications. We finally comment on the relations between three-dimensional QRLG and LQC, as well as on the appearance of the correspondence principle for the scalar field.

Abstract:We study one-loop perturbative properties of scalar field theories on the $\rho$-Minkowski space. The corresponding star-product, together with the involution are characterized from a combination of Weyl quantization and defining properties of the convolution algebra of the Euclidean group linked to the coordinate algebra of the $\rho$-Minkowski space. The natural integration measure linked to the Haar measure of the Euclidean group defines a trace for the star-product. One-loop properties of the 2-point and 4-point functions for families of complex-valued scalar field theories on $\rho$-Minkowski space are examined. For scalar theories with orientable interaction, the 2-point function is found to receive UV quadratically diverging one-loop corrections in 4 dimensions while no IR singularities generating UV/IR mixing appears. These however occur in the one-loop corrections to the 4-point function. As well, one-loop 2-point functions for theories with non-orientable interaction involve such IR singularities. These results are discussed.
