Abstract:A magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MMIP) was fabricated for captopril by surface polymerization of Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 nanoparticles using a new functional monomer of N-(allylcarbamothioyl)-2-chlorobenzamide. It was then employed as a selective nanosorbent for dispersive magnetic micro solid phase extraction (DM-μ-SPE) of captopril from biological and wastewater samples. To characterize the physicochemical properties of the MMIP, different analytical methods such as the vibrating sample magnetometer, field emission scanning electron microscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were utilized. To gain the maximum extraction recovery of captopril, the influence of various operating conditions was investigated and experimental settings optimized. After the extraction step, the concentration of captopril was measured by UV-Vis spectrophotometer at 245 nm. The assessments demonstrated that the MMIP provides higher extraction efficiency in comparison to magnetic non-imprinted polymer, suggesting the establishment of selective recognition binding sites at the MMIP surface. The method depicted desirable figures of merit of a low detection limit of 0.16 μg L -1 , a limit of quantification of 0.50 μg L -1 , a linear dynamic range of 0.50–22.0 μg L -1 , and an acceptable preconcentration factor of 333. The magnetic MIP was successfully employed for preconcentration and extraction of trace amounts of captopril in real samples, such as human blood serum, urine, and wastewater samples, with recoveries in the range 95.7 to 102.6% and relative standard deviations < 5%.

Abstract:We report on the successful development of a magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MMIP) for the separation and detection of catalpol in Rehmannia glutinosa extract and biological samples. Catalpol was used as the template molecule for the MMIPs, which were synthesized using the reverse prediction approach and differential UV-visible spectra to optimize the synthesis conditions. The resulting MMIPs were characterized using techniques including scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometry, which confirmed their excellent nuclear shell construction and simple rapid magnetic separation. Static and dynamic adsorption experiments were performed to assess the sensitivity, repeatability, and adsorption capacity of the MMIPs. Adsorption capacity was found to be high (59.09 μg/mg). The MMIPs also exhibited strong identification specificity for catalpol analogs (IF = 2.41). Magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) was optimized to establish an MSPE-HPLC approach based on the MMIPs. Under ideal conditions, the new method showed excellent determination coefficient (R 2 > 0.99) in the ranges of 0.1–1.0 mg/mL and 0.03–0.18 mg/mL for R. glutinosa extract and biological material, respectively, with limits of detection of 5.4 ng/mL and 1.7 ng/mL. The novelty of this research lies in the preparation of magnetic surface MMIPs using a magnetic carrier. These MMIPs exhibit excellent magnetic properties and possess specific adsorption capability for catalpol, enabling rapid separation. They offer advantages such as low cost, high specificity, chemical stability, physical robustness, and recyclability (97.09%–106.53%, 91.32%–100.99%). The application of these polymers in the pretreatment method for determining the catalpol content in R. glutinosa extract and biological samples enhances the extraction efficiency and detection accuracy for catalpol. It eliminates interference and influences from other components in catalpol determination while exhibiting high sensitivity, good enrichment effects, excellent reusability, and a high recovery rate.

Abstract:A reliable method of magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers/dispersive solid-phase extraction (MMIPs-DSPE) was established for determination of polydatin (PD) and resveratrol (RSV) in Chinese medicine Danning Tablets® coupled with HPLC-DAD. This method was effectively used for the specific recognition and selective enrichment of target compounds and removal of matrix interferences in Chinese medicine. PD-MMIPs were obtained with PD as a template, methylacrylic acid (MAA) as a functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as a crosslinking agent and azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as an initiator. Good linearity was observed in the range of 0.01–10 μg mL−1, with the limit of detection of 2.5 ng mL−1 and 3.5 ng mL−1 for PD and RSV, respectively. The levels of PD and RSV in Danning Tablets® were found to be 769.94 μg g−1 and 130.03 μg g−1, and sample recoveries were between 91.79% and 102.23% with RSD u003c 6%.
High-peformance Bimetallic SPR Sensor for Ciprofloxacin Based on Molecularly Imprinted Polymer

Abstract:A bimetallic chip was designed to improve the performance of a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor based on angular interrogation, which demonstrated a relatively low noise level and a high resolution compared with a single gold chip. The calculated refractive index resolution of the bimetallic chip is 5.3 x 10(-7) RIU. In addition, the electric field intensity at the surface of the chip is enhanced. This can guarantee a high sensitivity in a larger sensing region for the measurement of macromolecules, especially in the field of biological sensing. The bimetallic chip SPR sensor was combined with molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) film as artificial receptor to detect antibiotics. The molecularly imprinted polymer was prepared by photo-polymerization of ciprofloxacin capped with itaconic acid as functional monomer on the bimetallic chip. The thickness of the MIP film was 16 +/- 2 nm, which was measured with a stylus profiler. The MIP exhibited high selectivity to ciprofloxacin compared with dopamine and penicillin, and the selectivity coefficients of ciprofloxacin, penicillin, and dopamine were 1, 0.22, and 0.19, respectively. The SPR response was proportional to the concentration of ciprofloxacin, the limit of detection (LOD) of which was 0.1 pM or 0.04 ppt, while the LOD for a single gold chip was 0.5 pM. The adsorption of CIP by the MIP bimetallic-coated chip was reversible. Taking the reproducibility of MIP into consideration, a combination of SPR sensing with MIP is a promising method for the detection of ciprofloxacin.
Magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers for extraction of S-phenylmercapturic acid from urine samples followed by high-performance liquid chromatography

Abstract:In this study, magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (MMIPs) were prepared and used as sorbents for extraction of S-phenylmercapturic acid (S-PMA) from urine samples, followed by high-performance liquid chromatography ultraviolet-visible (HPLC-UV/Vis) analysis. The MMIPs were synthesized by the copolymerization reaction of (phenylthio) acetic acid (template molecule), methacrylic acid (functional monomers) and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (cross-linkers). The morphology, structure property and surface groups of the prepared MMIPs were characterized by scan electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction pattern, thermogravimetric analyses, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller and vibrating sample magnetometer. The selectivity of the MMIPs was investigated in the presence of interferents. Various parameters affecting the S-PMA extraction efficiency were investigated, including MMIPs amount, pH, sample volume, desorption solvent, as well as extraction and desorption time. The obtained optimal parameters were as follows: MMIPs amount (20 mg), pH (3.0), sample volume (5 mL), desorption solvent (methanol/acetic acid [9/1, v/v]), extraction time (30 minutes) and desorption time (2 minutes). The method was validated according to the Food and Drug Administration Guidance for Industry on Bioanalytical Method Validation. The calibration curve for the analyte was linear in the concentration range of 0.030-1.0 mg/L (r = 0.9995). The LOD and LOQ of the method were 0.0080 and 0.0267 mg/L, respectively. The enrichment factor of the MMIPs was 5. The relative standard deviations of intra- and inter-day tests were in the range of 3.8-5.1% and 3.9-6.3%, respectively. The recoveries at three different concentrations of 0.10, 0.50 and 0.80 mg/L ranged between 95.2% and 98.6%. In addition, the MMIPs could be reused for at least eight times. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of S-PMA in urine samples. In addition, this developed method could be used as a tool in the early screening and clinical diagnosis of benzene intoxication.
Magnetic multi-template molecularly imprinted polymers for selective simultaneous extraction of chlorophenols followed by determination using HPLC

Abstract:Magnetic multi-template molecularly imprinted polymers (M-mt-MIPs) were successfully synthesized by surface imprinting and multi-template imprinting strategy, using polydopamine coated magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotubes as supporting materials, five typical chlorophenols (CPs) as templates, methacrylic acid as functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as cross-linker. Compared to non-imprinted polymers (NIPs), the as-prepared M-mt-MIPs showed high adsorption capacity (32.58‒80.63 mg g-1), rapid mass transfer and specific selectivity for the five targeted CPs, which were applied as magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) adsorbents. Parameters affecting MSPE efficiency were detailed investigated, such as adsorbents dosage, sample pH, extraction time, type and volume of desorption solvent and salt effect. Combined with HPLC-DAD, a simple, rapid and sensitive method was established, showing good linearity (2‒200 μg L-1), low limits of detection (0.32‒0.49 μg L-1), and high enrichment factors (35.2‒108). The developed M-mt-MIPs-MSPE-HPLC method was applied to enrich and determine CPs in tannery wastewater, wet-blue and crust leather, and satisfactory spiking recoveries were attained in the range of 73.95‒109.7% with relative standard deviations (RSDs) of 2.13-8.48%. This study provided a new alternative material and method to rapid simultaneously extract and analyze low concentration of typical CPs in complicated matrices.
Selective Separation and Identification of Metabolite Groups of Polygonum Cuspidatum Extract in Rat Plasma Using Dispersion Solid-Phase Extraction by Magnetic Molecularly Imprinted Polymers Coupled with LC/Q-TOF-MS

Abstract:In this work, magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (MMIPs) were successfully prepared for specific recognition and selective enrichment of metabolite groups of Polygonum cuspidatum extract in rat plasma. Two kinds of MMIPs were obtained using polydatin (PD) and emodin-8-O-β-D-glucoside (EG) as template molecules, respectively, methacrylic acid as functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as cross-linker and 2,2′-azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator. The membrane thickness of both MMIPs was approximately 10 nm. With the dendritic-grafting modification, magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) possessed the outstretched branched structure, orderly open cavities and abundant functional groups with a good specific surface area (47.99 m2 g−1). And both MMIPs obtained high adsorption capacity (221 μmol g−1 for PD and 190 μmol g−1 for EG) and fast kinetics. Dispersion solid-phase extraction using MMIPs (MMIPs-DSPE) was applied to selectively separate and enrich the target metabolite groups of stilbenoids and anthraquinones, respectively. Furthermore, three classical pretreatment methods including protein precipitation (PP), liquid–liquid extraction (LLE) and solid phase extraction (SPE) were compared with MMIPs-DSPE in terms of matrix effect, efficiency of extraction and capacity using LC/Q-TOF-MS. The result showed that MMIPs obtained the lowest matrix effect from 1.52 to 8.96% and the most constituents of target metabolite groups with 17 stilbenoids and 19 anthraquinones, respectively. The proposed analysis platform has been proven to be selective, sensitive and simple for the enrichment of target metabolite groups, and has great significance for discovering minor bioactive constituents and elucidating integrative mechanism of traditional Chinese medicines.

Abstract:In this work, a novel strategy to prepare molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) functionalized magnetic carbon nanotubes (MCNTs) via a facile sol-gel polymerization by adopting Cu2+-mediating interaction was presented for selective recognition of celastrol (Cel), in the traditional Chinese medicines (TCM). Firstly, template Cel, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) as monomer and Cu2+ (co-monomer) were mixed to form a self-assembled pre-complex, in which Cu2+ could coordinate with Cel. Meanwhile, APTES plays a role of bridge between APTES and Cel. Secondly, carboxyl modified MCNTs as substrate was added into the pre-complex solution. After that, a multi-step sol-gel polymerization process was occurred in the presence of tetraethylorthosilicate as cross-linker and acetic acid as catalyst. Finally, MIPs layer was formed on the surface of the MCNTs () after the removal of template with methanol/acetic. The morphology and structure of was investigated by various characterization techniques. The adsorption performance of to Cel was illustrated by kinetic, isothermal and selective binding experiments. The results displayed that the possessed fast kinetic equilibrium time (40 s), high adsorption capacity (13.35 μg·mg-1), good imprinting factor of 3.41, and high magnetic responsivity (44.38 emu·g-1), which can be used as an ideal adsorbent for rapid isolation and enrichment of target analytes. A selective and sensitive method based on coupling with HPLC was developed for Cel determination including a wide linear range (0.15-200 μg·mL-1) with correlation coefficient of 0.9998, a low limit of detection (0.05 μg·mL-1). Furthermore, the applicability of was demonstrated to isolate and determine Cel in TCM samples with satisfactory recoveries ranged from 84.47% to 91.5% (RSD<5.35%). The results revealed that offer great potential as an adsorbent for selective and efficient isolation of Cel from complex TCM samples.

[Anatomic segmental resection of the liver in surgical treatment of colorectal metastatic lesions].

Abstract:The prime role of hepatic resection in the management of colorectal cancer metastatic to the liver is firmly established. At least a third of patients who undergo liver resection for colorectal metastases can expect to survive five years. Since 1999, 106 hepatic metastases were resected in 42 patients (synchr. 8, metachr. 34, pts.). We performed 12 monosegmentectomies (S2-S8), 4 bisegmentectomies (S4b, S5 and S5, S6), 6 sectorectomies (right posterior, left paramedian, left lateral), 3 polysegmentectomies (S4b, S5, S6), 8 bilateral sectionectomies (S2, S3 and S6, S7) and in 9 cases multiple segmentectomies. In 4 cases initially unresectable colorectal metastases were downstaged by transcatheter HAI regional chemotherapy (Implantoflx), and after that successfully resected. We favour vascular inflow occlusion through selective division of appropriate portal pedicle at the porta hepatis or by transparenchymal approach. Median blood loss was 330 +/- 160 ml. The complication rate amounted to 9.52% (bile fistula, abscess collection). No method related lethality occurred. During the follow-up period we registered tumor recurrence rate of 19.1% (8 pts.), of which two patients were subjected to liver re-resection. Overall 3-year survival rate (Kaplan-Meier) is 38.9%. Multivariate analysis shows a significant correlation between 3-year survival and solitary (p-0.031) and unilobar metastases (p-0.014).
Factors Affecting the Analytical Performance of Magnetic Molecularly Imprinted Polymers

Abstract:During the last few years, separation techniques using molecular imprinting polymers (MIPs) have been developed, making certain improvements using magnetic properties. Compared to MIP, Magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (MMIPs) have high selectivity in sample pre-treatment and allow for fast and easy isolation of the target analyte. Its magnetic properties and good extraction performance depend on the MMIP synthesis step, which consists of 4 steps, namely magnetite manufacture, magnetic coating using modified components, polymerization and template desorption. This review discusses the factors that will affect the performance of MMIP as a selective sorbent at each stage. MMIP, using Fe3O4 as a magnetite core, showed strong superparamagnetism; it was prepared using the co-precipitation method using FeCl3·6H2O and FeCl2·H2O to obtain high magnetic properties, using NH4OH solution added for higher crystallinity. In magnetite synthesis, the use of a higher temperature and reaction time will result in a larger nanoparticle size and high magnetization saturation, while a higher pH value will result in a smaller particle size. In the modification step, the use of high amounts of oleic acid results in smaller nanoparticles; furthermore, determining the correct molar ratio between FeCl3 and the shielding agent will also result in smaller particles. The next factor is that the proper ratio of functional monomer, cross-linker and solvent will improve printing efficiency. Thus, it will produce MMIP with high selectivity in sample pre-treatment.

Selective Capture and Rapid Identification of Panax Notoginseng Metabolites in Rat Faeces by the Integration of Magnetic Molecularly Imprinted Polymers and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography Coupled with Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry

Abstract:In the present work, an advanced pretreatment method magnetic molecular imprinted polymers dispersive solid phase extraction (MMIPs-DSPE) combined with the high sensitivity LTQ-Orbitrap mass spectrometry was applied to the complicated metabolites analysis of Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCMs) in complex matrices. The ginsenoside Rb-1 magnetic molecular imprinted polymers (Rb-1 -MMIPs) were successfully synthesized for specific recognition and selective enrichment of Panax notoginseng saponin metabolites in rat faeces. The polymers were prepared by using Fe3O4@SiO2 as the supporting material, APTES as the functional monomer and TEOS as the cross-linker. The Rb-1-MMIPs showed quick separation (10.8 emu/g), large adsorption capacity (636 mu mol/g), high selectivity and fast binding kinetics (25 min). Dispersion solid-phase extraction using Rb-1-MMIPs (Rb-1-MMIPs-DSPE) integrated with LTQ-Orbitrap MS was applied to fish out and identify saponin metabolites from rat faeces, and totally 58 related compounds were detected within 20 min, including 26 PPD-group and 32 PPT-group notoginsenoside metabolites. Parallel tests showed that Rb-1-MMIPs-DSPE obtained the lowest matrix effects of 0.98-14.84% and captured the largest number of structural analogues compared with traditional pretreatment methods organic solvent extraction (OSE) and solid phase extraction (SPE). Use of ultrasound to identify chronic Achilles tendinosis in an active asymptomatic population

Abstract:Objectives The aim of the study was to identify the prevalence of degenerative change in the Achilles tendons of currently asymptomatic individuals and correlate it with their degree of physical activity. Methods We recruited 126 healthy subjects, mean age 33.1, range 20 – 50 (78 males and 48 females). Their levels of physical activity were assessed by a questionnaire and scored using the Allied Dunbar Fitness Survey criteria, modified to exclude non-weight bearing activity. One investigator, who was blinded to the activity levels, ultrasound scanned all 252 tendons. Tendons were examined for evidence of hypoechoic regions, localised fusiform thickening, and the cross-sectional diameter of each was measured. Results Overall 59% (149) of tendons had ultrasound evidence of hypoechoic regions. In 50 tendons (in 31 patients) there was a history of previous Achilles pain and 84% of these had hypoechoic regions. Thirty three percent of subjects in the lowest quartile of activity had evidence of hypoechoic regions compared to 72.6% in the most active quartile (Pearson Chi2 p < 0.01). Only 5.6% of all Achilles tendons had ultrasound evidence of localised fusiform thickening, with none in the inactive group compared to 6.4% in the very active group (Pearson Chi2 p =0.03). Conclusions Degenerative changes, identified by ultrasound, are common in the Achilles tendon and are often asymptomatic. There is a direct relationship between these changes and levels of current and lifetime activity. The natural history of asymptomatic chronic Achilles tendinosis and their relationship to future pain or tendon pathology is unknown.
Selective and fast removal and determination of β-lactam antibiotics in aqueous solution using multiple templates imprinted polymers based on magnetic hybrid carbon material

Abstract:Selective and fast adsorption of five broad-spectrum β-lactam antibiotics included amoxicillin, cephalexin, cefazolin, penicillin G and oxacillin was achieved by novel surface molecular imprinting polymers (MIPs) with magnetic hybrid carbon material as the substrate. The characteristics of MIPs were studied by scanning electron microscope, Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, thermogravimetric analysis, etc. And through a series of adsorption experiments to examine the kinetics, isotherms, thermodynamics, selectivity and reusability for sorption of β-lactam antibiotics onto the MIPs. The adsorption equilibriums were accomplished in about 60 min with adsorption capacities of 4.57-24.55 mg g-1, while the adsorption process was preferably fitted with pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Freundlich model. The imprinting factors ranged from 1.88 to 9.94 indicated the MIPs possessed excellent recognition ability, and its good reusability was demonstrated after five times adsorption-desorption cycles without a large drop in adsorption capacity. Furthermore, a new detection method was developed by combining of MIPs with solid phase extraction and high performance liquid chromatography (MIPs-SPE-HPLC). Under the optimal SPE conditions, the limits of detection (LODs) for the five BLAs were 0.24-0.56 µg L-1, with RSDs of 0.76-5.39%. The synthesized MIPs and the proposed MIPs-SPE-HPLC method can be applied for the efficient, simultaneous separation and detection of BLAs.

Abstract:Furosemide (FUR), banned in sports events by the World Anti-Doping Agency, is a key target in drug tests, necessitating a pretreatment material capable of selectively, rapidly, and sufficiently separating/enriching analytes from complex matrices. Herein, a metal-mediated magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (mMIP) was rationally designed and synthesized for the specific capture of FUR. The preparations involved the utilization of chromium (III) as the binding pivot, (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane as functional monomer, and Fe3O4 as core, all assembled via free radical polymerization. Both the morphologies and adsorptive properties of the mMIP were characterized using multiple methods. The resulting Cr(III)-mediated mMIP (ChM-mMIP) presented excellent selectivity and specificity toward FUR. Under optimized conditions, the adsorption capacity reached 128.50 mg/g within 10 min, and the imprinting factor was 10.41. Moreover, it was also successfully applied as a dispersive solid-phase extraction material, enabling the detection of FUR concentration as low as 20 ng/mL in human urine samples when coupled with a high-performance liquid chromatography/photodiode array. Overall, this study offers a valuable strategy for the development of novel recognition material.
Selective Extraction of Functional Components Derived from Herb in Plasma by Using a Molecularly Imprinted Polymer Based on 2,2-Bis(hydroxymethyl)butanol Trimethacrylate.

Abstract:To make molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) solid-phase extraction (SPE) capable of direct clean-up of aqueous biological samples, an anti-quercetin MIP with evident hydrophobic matrix was synthesized using acrylamide (AA) as the functional monomer and 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)butanol trimethacrylate (TRIM) as the crosslinker. The affinity and selectivity were evaluated by liquid chromatography, and the binding sites and the dissolution constants were measured by frontal chromatography. Compared with the AA-co-ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate (EDMA) MIP, the anti-quercetin AA-co-TRIM MIP exhibited stronger binding and possessed improved column efficacy. A linear plot of the peak area versus sample size (in the range of 0.4-2.2 microg) was obtained, which made it promising for the MIP columns to be directly used for analysis. Before MIP-SPE of the sample of plasma, several washing solvents were tested and it was shown that the careful choice of the right washing solvent is the key step to successful sample extraction. The anti-quercetin AA-co-TRIM polymer selectively extracted quercetin, the effective component in the plasma of rats fed the hydrolyzed extract of Gingko biloba L. The recovery (67%) for MIP-SPE was calculated using spiked plasma. The results of the present work showed that the properties of MIP could be improved by modifying the polymerization and that MIP-SPE could be used for direct clean-up of biological samples for the analysis of functional components in vivo originating from an extract of medicinal herbs.
Application of magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers in the analysis of food safety.

Abstract:Magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers(MMIPs) were prepared by the molecular imprinting technology(MIT) combined with a magnetic material. MIT was a new type of high efficient separation and molecular recognition technology, and had the specific recognition and selectivity. Magnetic materials had superparamagnetism, which could be separated from the solution under additional magnetic field fast, with their surface getting a variety of reaction functional group through the way such as copolymerization or surface modification, which could be combined with target molecules by adsorption or covalent bonds. After the combination, MMIPs had the common advantages of magnetic materials and molecularly imprinted polymer, such as specific recognition and selectivity, and could be separated fast from the solution. This paper summarized the preparation methods of MMIPs and their advantages and disadvantages, and the application of MMIPs in the analysis of pesticide residues, biological medicine residues and veterinary drug residues in foods.

Abstract:In this work, an in-situ growth of metal coordination-synergistic imprinted polymer onto magnetic FeNi biochar was synthesized and further used for the recognition and isolation of toxic monocrotaline (Mct) from herbal medicines. The shrimp shell-derived iron nickel oxide doped magnetic biochar (INOMB) was successfully prepared by a combined impregnation and pyrolysis method. The molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) layer was then in-situ coated onto the surface of the INOMB carrier by the incipient metal coordination interaction between Mct and bimetallic Fe/Ni elements, and dopamine self-autoxidation process. The obtained FeNi@Mct-MIPs was systematically characterized through various characterization techniques. Profiting from the synergistic effect, the synthesized FeNi@Mct-MIPs obviously enhanced the adsorption capacity in capturing Mct, and the maximum adsorption capacity and imprinting factor were determined as 64.59 mg g−1 and 2.16 accordingly. Furthermore, the resultant FeNi@Mct-MIPs composite can be further used as a novel solid-phase extraction absorbent to enrich and detect trace Mct in herbal plants by using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography combined with mass spectrum (UHPLC-MS) technology. Overall, the present INOMB-based composite shows great potential for selective separation and detection of Mct from traditional Chinese medicine samples.

Abstract:Magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (MMIPs) based on poly [2,2’-(p-oxidiphenylene)-5,5’-bibenzimidazole] (OPBI) composites were synthesized for the selective adsorption and detection of nonylphenol (NP) from water samples. During polymerization, Fe3O4@C was used as supporter and magnetic substance and OPBI not only was used as crosslinking agent but also functional monomer. Morphology of Fe3O4@C and MMIPs were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The kinetics of adsorption followed the pseudo-first-order model. Selectivity of MMIPs was further demonstrated through HPLC analysis of the water samples, in which bisphenol A (BPA), phenol, 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) and tetrabromobisphenol (TBBPA) were dissolved respectively. The result showed that MMIPs had more effectively recognition capability of NP than other contrasts.

Synthesis and Application of Novel Magnetic Ion-Imprinted Polymers for Selective Solid Phase Extraction of Cadmium (II)

Abstract:Ion-imprinted polymers (IIPs) have received much attention in the fields of separation and purification. Nevertheless, selectivity of IIPs for trace target ions in complicated matrix remains a challenge. In this work, a cadmium magnetic ion-imprinted polymer (MIIP) was synthesized via surface imprinting, using methacrylic acid and acrylamide as dual functional monomers, vinyltrimethoxysilane as ligand, Fe₃O₄@SiO₂ as support, azodiisobutyronitrile as initiator, and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as crosslinker. The MIIP was characterized by transmission electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, thermal gravimetric analysis, and a vibrating sample magnetometer. The maximum adsorption capacities of the MIIP and magnetic non-imprinted polymer for Cd(II) were 46.8 and 14.7 mg·g-1, respectively. The selectivity factors of Pb(II), Cu(II), and Ni(II) were 3.17, 2.97, and 2.57, respectively, which were greater than 1. The adsorption behavior of Cd(II) followed the Freundlich isotherm and a pseudo second order model. The MIIP was successfully used for the selective extraction and determination of trace Cd(II) in representative rice samples. The limit of detection and recovery of the method was 0.05 µg·L-1 and 80⁻103%, respectively, with a relative standard deviation less than 4.8%. This study shows that MIIP provides an attractive strategy for heavy metal detection.

Abstract:BACKGROUND Cytophagic histiocytic panniculitis is a disorder manifested by multiple subcutaneous nodules, characterized by lobular panniculitis, and occasionally accompanied by severe systemic manifestations, which require an aggressive medical approach. Several case reports with a good response to immunosuppressive therapy in the acute phase can be found in the literature. OBJECTIVE AND CONCLUSION Nevertheless, the long-term evolution of this entity has not been described yet, nor have precise recommendations regarding the most adequate posology and duration of therapy. We report the result of switching from a long-term cyclosporine therapy to tacrolimus in a patient with a severe form of cytophagic histiocytic panniculitis.
