Abstract:Background: The problems faced by Soerojo Hospital is currently decreasing the number of outpatient visits and decreasing customer satisfaction. Marketing mix analysis based on satisfaction surveys which on average are good based on hospital customer perceptions and targeted revenue targets from out-of-pocket sources of 30 percent require the right marketing mix tactics for potential customers in the comunity. This study will help Soerojo Hospital choose dominant factor of the marketing mix in hospital selection for making optimal marketing strategy. The aims of this study was to identify the role of the marketing mix factors on people's decisions in hospital selection. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted with a descriptive, quantitative approach, cross sectional research design, 385 respondents were surveyed with questionnaires and data analysis was carried out with program packages. Results: The components of the marketing mix that occupy the top three positions are the location component with a median of 4.67(1-5), the process component with a median of 4.60 (1-5) and the cost component with a median of 4.50 (1-5). There was a significant difference between the groups who choose and did not choose Soerojo mental hospital in the doctor/staff and promotion (p value <0.05). Conclusion: The location, process and cost components are the components of the marketing mix that most influence the decision to choose a hospital. Suggestions for improvements that can be made by RSJ Prof. Dr. Soerojo Magelang based on the results of this study.

Abstract:Outpatient satisfaction level takes an important role in hospital success. Outpatient satisfaction levels are determined by various factors, some of them are mentioned in the Marketing Mix 4p strategy that includes place, promotion, price, product. Marketing mix (place) includes strategic location, comfortability and cleanliness of public toilet, comfortability and cleanliness of consultation room, comfortability and cleanliness of waiting room and parking space availability. Marketing mix (promotion) includes any action that the company or hospital had taken to persuade patients to use the hospital services. Marketing mix (price) includes service cost, easy access to conduct transaction, suitability of prices compared to services received, medicine price and thorough explanation for proof of payment. Marketing mix (product) includes informed consent from healthcare workers, services received from nurses, services received from pharmacists, consultation services and availability of medicines. A study was needed to determine the relation between marketing mix strategy and level of outpatient satisfaction the purpose of this study was to determine if marketing mix 4p is related to outpatient satisfaction. This study is a quantitative study with Cross Sectional design and observational analytics design. The methods that were used to analyze in this study is statistical analysis. The data used in this study was primary taken by asking outpatient to fill in questionnaires. The study’s sample were 106 people who were chosen using the systematic random sampling technique. The study was conducted at the general surgery clinic at dr. Mohamad Soewandhie regional hospital starting from 20th of September 2023 to 31st October 2023. In this study, marketing mix 4p strategy was divided into 4 variables (place, promotion, price, product). Spearman Correlation tests for marketing mix (place) were made and resulting in a value of p = 0.337 (p > 0.05) and coefficient correlation r = 0.094. Spearman Correlation tests for marketing mix (promotion) were made, and result in a value of p = 0.358 (p > 0.05) and coefficient correlation r = 0.090. Spearman Correlation tests for marketing mix (price) were made, and a result of p value = 0.935 (p > and coefficient correlation r = - 0.008. Spearman Correlation tests were made, and a result in a value of p = 0.44 (p < 0.05) and coefficient correlation r = 0.764. Based on the results that were found it can be concluded that there was a significant association between marketing mix (product) and outpatient satisfaction and no significant associations were found between marketing mix (place, price, promotion) and outpatient

Abstract:Globalization has a big impact on the development of the business world and opportunities for institutions engaged in services. Hospitals are required to find new marketing ideas/strategies in maintaining their existence and improving the quality of services for the creation of patient satisfaction. The lack of promotion of superior hospital products (50%) and the low results of patient satisfaction surveys for services (30%) indicate the need to improve aspects of the marketing mix at Unisma Hospital in Malang. This study aims to analyze public perceptions of the marketing mix (7P) in service satisfaction at Unisma Malang Hospital. This study is in the form of a survey (cross sectional study approach) with 85 respondents selected using the accidental sampling method. The data collection method was carried out through interviews and using a service satisfaction questionnaire containing a marketing mix (7P) component. The results showed that of the 7 aspects of marketing mix there were 2 dominant aspects and there was a need for improvement, namely the promotion aspect where 41 chose the lack of activities made by RSI Unisma as the promotion of RSI Unisma and the process aspect where as many as 54 chose the lack of speed and accuracy of the service. Therefore, based on these problems, it is necessary to improve the hospital marketing strategy and improve the quality of service. The solution to this problem is to promote activities that are under the auspices of the Nahdlatul Ulama as an effort to promote and review services, processes and procedures. Multilevel Analysis on the Effect of Marketing Mix Strategy toward Patient Satisfaction in Magelang, Central Java

Abstract:Background: Hospital marketing is becoming increasingly competitive all over the world. The marketing mix strategy is considered one of the core concepts of marketing theory. This study aimed to examine the effect of marketing mix strategy toward patient satisfaction in Magelang, Central Java. Subjects and Method: A cross sectional study was conducted at Magelang Hospital, Central Java, in December 2018. A sample of 200 patients was selected by simple random sampling. The dependent variable was patient satisfaction. The independent variables were product, price, place, promotion, process, people, physical appearance, and ward. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by multilevel multiple logistic regression. Results : Patient satisfaction increased with good product (b= 3.42; 95% CI= 0.76 to 2.81; p<0.001), low price (b= 1.92; 95% CI= -0.05 to 1.70; p= 0.054), right place (b= 2.41; 95% CI= 0.19 to 1.92; p= 0.016), attractive promotion (b= 2.92; 95% CI= 0.43 to 2.19; p= 0.004), people (b= 1.91; 95% CI= -0.24 to 1.75; p= 0.057), good physical appearance (b= 2.42; 95% CI= 0.20 to 1.97; p= 0.015), and sound process (b= 2.07; 95% CI= 0.45 to 1.72; p= 0.039). Ward had a considerable contextual effect on patient satisfaction with ICC= 14.65%. Conclusion: Patient satisfaction increases with good product, low price, right place, attractive promotion, people, good physical appearance, and sound process. Abstract:1. The supplementation of diets rich in soluble polysaccharides with microbial cellulases and hemicellulases decreases digesta viscosity and promotes broiler performance. 2. In contrast, recent experiments suggest that polysaccharidases are ineffective for improving the nutritive value of pasture biomass used by free-range broilers. However, the feasibility of using cellulases and hemicellulases to improve the utilisation of cereal-based feeds by pastured poultry remains to be established. 3. A study was undertaken to investigate the capacity of a recombinant cellulase from Clostridium thermocellum to improve the nutritive value of a barley-based feed for free-range pastured broilers of the RedBro Cou Nu × RedBro M genotype. 4. The results show that supplementation of a barley-based diet with a recombinant β-glucanase had no effect on the performance of free-range broilers, foraging in legume-based diets from d 28 to 56. In addition, the results confirm that the lack of effect of the recombinant enzyme in improving the nutritive value of the barley-based feed does not result from enzyme proteolysis or inhibition in the gastrointestinal tract. 5. Significantly, β-glucanase activity was identified in the crop of non-supplemented animals. The data suggest that endogenous cellulases originated both from the barley-based feed and from the crop microflora. 6. The results presented here suggest that in older birds of slow-growing genotypes associated with free-range production systems, previously unknown sources of β-glucanases, such as the feed and microbial symbiotic microflora, can affect the effectiveness of exogenous enzymes added to the feed.

Abstract:Introduction: The patient-doctor relationship has evolved from early paternalism to a consumerism and partnership model that emphasizes cooperation. Patient-doctor relationships might vary with the socio-cultural environment, because the medical environment affects such relationships. Method: We investigated the patient-doctor relationship among medical students through concept mapping analysis. Twenty-six fourth-grade Korean medical students wrote a reflection journal and participated in the concept classification and the importance evaluation of the derived concept. ALSCAL multidimensional scaling and Ward hierarchical cluster analysis were performed. Also, the 5-point Likert scale was used to evaluate the importance of the concept. Results: Sixty-six statements about the patient-doctor relationship were extracted and grouped into six clusters. The x-axis is the dimension of "Information-Respect," and the y-axis is "Changeability-Persistence." Six patient-doctor concepts were derived and students evaluated "Patient-centered" as the most important. Conclusions: Medical students express various concepts of the patient-doctor relationship. Considering that they may encounter various medical conditions and patients, it is necessary that they understand deeply the complex patient-doctor relationship.

Abstract:The study was performed to measure structural relationship among service value, brand image, and royalty of patients in regional public hospitals in Korea. Based on the analysis, the study aims to establish strategic direction of the regional public hospitals. Through a review of related literatures, measurement variables were identified, and a path model was developed for the study. Five regional public hospitals were chosen, and questionnaire has been collected from 387 outpatients and 358 inpatients. The study found that service value has a positive direct effect on brand image, and brand image has a positive direct effect on loyalty. Based on the findings, it is desirable for the regional public hospitals should mange the issues with lower level of perception and those with bigger effect, and establish low pricing strategy with improving the quality of service they provide.

Abstract:This study aimed to construct and test structural equation modeling of the causal relationship between quality of healthcare, patient satisfaction, and intent to revisit perceived by patients using regional hub public hospitals. In this study, data of 2,951 outpatients and 3,135 inpatients were collected using the “2018 Regional Hub Public Hospital Operational Evaluation.” A structural equation model was used to understand the relationship between patient satisfaction and intent to revisit, and bootstrap analysis was performed. In the direct effect, outpatients were presented in the order of the physician’s practice service, the hospital’s environment, and patient satisfaction. Inpatients were in the order of the physician’s practice service and, medical staff’s kindness and consideration,; patient satisfaction was shown in this order. In the indirect effect, the outpatients were presented in the order of physician’s practice service, medical staff’s kindness and consideration, and hospital’s physical environment. Inpatients were introduced in the order of medical staff’s kindness and consideration, nurse’s practice service, physician’s practice service, and patient satisfaction. Regional hub public hospitals need high-quality medical services and efforts from all departments to treat patients with sincerity to improve patient satisfaction and increase intent to revisit.

Abstract:Customer satisfaction is a significant element for a service user to create and retain customers successfully. This can be made if good service quality, health facilities, and brand image support a health service. This study aimed to determine and analyze how much influence quality, facilities, and brand image have on patient satisfaction—cross-sectional quantitative research approach, conducted at Royal Prima Medan Hospital, May 2023. The population of all outpatient and inpatient patients, determination of the number of samples Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), determined 100 models, nonprobability method -survive sampling. Data was tested for validity and reliability. Multiple linear regression data analysis, coefficient of determination (R2), F test (simultaneous testing), t-test (partial testing) at α = 0.05. The results of the service quality variable, t-count (6.772) > t-table (1.66) probability value (0.009) t-table (6.772) > t-table (1.66) and probability value (0.009) t-table (6.921) > t-table (1.66) and probability value (0.002) < 0.05, so that the three variables have a significant relationship with patient satisfaction. The calculated F test obtained an F value of 88.121 with a probability of 0.012 ≤ 0.05. In conclusion, the results of partial and simultaneous tests, service quality variables, service facilities, and brand image have a positive and significant effect on patient satisfaction at Royal Prima Medan Hospital, with an Adjusted R square value of 0.845, meaning that 84.5% of the variation in the dependent variable on patient satisfaction at Royal Prima Hospital can be explained by variations in the independent variables of service quality, brand image, and facilities, the remaining 15.5% (100%-84.5%) is defined by other variables not examined in this study, such as price, distance, and others.
No link between X chromosome inactivation pattern and simple goiter in females: evidence from a twin study.

Abstract:BACKGROUND Simple goiter (SG) comprises diffuse (DG) and nodular (NG) benign nonautoimmune nontoxic goiter. In nonendemic goiter areas, the ratio of females to males may exceed 5:1, indicating that gender and/or sex hormones may play a role in the etiology of SG in these areas. Theoretically, as shown for autoimmune thyroid disease, X chromosome inactivation (XCI) and resultant tissue chimerism could offer a novel explanation for the female preponderance of SG. To examine whether skewed XCI is associated with SG, we first compared XCI in 71 twin individuals with SG with that in 142 unrelated healthy control twin individuals, and then performed a within-pair comparison of XCI in 48 twin pairs discordant for SG. METHODS DNA was extracted from peripheral blood cells. XCI analysis was performed by predigestion of DNA using the methylation-sensitive enzyme Hpall, followed by polymerase chain reaction of the polymorphic CAG repeat of the androgen receptor gene. A polymerase chain reaction product is obtained from the inactive X chromosome only. The XCI pattern was classified as skewed when 80% or more of the cells preferentially inactivated the same X chromosome. Twin zygosity was established by DNA fingerprinting. RESULTS The frequency of skewed XCI in female twins with SG, DG, and NG was 11% (8/71), 13% (6/46), and 8% (2/25), respectively, which was not significantly different from the prevalences in the corresponding control populations, 14% (20/142, p = 0.56), 14% (13/92, p = 1.00), and 14% (7/50, p = 0.71), respectively. Essentially, similar results were obtained when comparing the prevalence of skewed XCI in twin pairs discordant for SG (48 pairs), DG (30 pairs), and NG (18 pairs). CONCLUSION In a sample of Danish female twins, we did not find evidence for involvement of skewed XCI in the etiology or the female preponderance of SG.

Abstract:The study aims at investigating the role of digital marketing strategies in enhancing international patients’ satisfaction in Jordanian healthcare industry. Specifically, the effect of search engine optimization, social media networks, and e-mail marketing as digital marketing strategies on international patients’ satisfaction. The quantitative approach is adopted and 400 questionnaires are distributed using convenient sample to international patients in different health service organizations (HSO). Only 310 questionnaires were collected with response rate 78%. The study concluded that there is a significant effect of digital marketing strategies on international patients’ satisfaction in Jordanian health service industry. Moreover, each digital marketing strategies (search engine optimization, social media networks, and e-mail marketing) have a significant effect on international patients’ satisfaction in Jordanian health service industry. Moreover, social media networks are the most important strategy which are employed to enhance patients’ satisfaction in HSOs. The study recommends that HSOs have to take the advantages of digital marketing strategies in order to enhance patients’ satisfaction. Practical implications and directions for future research are proposed.

Abstract:Patient-centered care and healthcare consumerism are dominant models of the patient-provider relationship. Positioning theory was applied to examine consumers' and physicians' positions on patient-centered care and healthcare consumerism, along with their attitudes toward direct-to-consumer healthcare service advertising and trust in the medical profession. Surveys were conducted with a convenience sample of consumers and physicians respectively. Patient-centered care was the only theoretical construct that both consumers and physicians unequivocally embraced. Both groups were either ambivalent or skeptical of the other three concepts. Between the two groups, physicians exhibited a stronger endorsement of patient-centered care and more negative attitudes toward advertising than consumers. When the relationships among the theoretical constructs were examined, a negative correlation between patient-centered care and consumerism was found among consumers. Also, patient-centered care and trust were negatively correlated in both groups. Implications of these findings are discussed for strategic communication, consumer and physician education, and future research.

Development and experiential analysis of a chinese customer satisfaction model for medical service industry

Abstract:The purpose of this research was to construct a Chinese customer satisfaction model for medical services and to identify the key elements that influence customer satisfaction. Eighty seven valid responses from inpatients were collected using a survey questionnaire. Structural equation modeling was employed to estimate and adjust the proposed model. The results showed that perceived quality, expected quality, and information were three important antecedents influencing customer satisfaction, and that perceived quality was the strongest antecedent of customer satisfaction and that loyalty was the strongest consequence. Information had relatively low direct effect on customer satisfaction while it indirectly affected customer satisfaction considerably through the other antecedents of perceived quality and expected quality. This research provides hospital managers with information on the aspects to be emphasized with regarding to customer satisfaction and, also, highlights the importance of increasing customer satisfaction when seeking customer loyalty.
The impact of competitive environment on the service marketing mix strategy of health organisations in developing countries : Jordanian private sector hospital senior managers perspective

Abstract:The environment of Jordanian private hospitals has never been so complex and challenging as at present. There are huge influences on these hospitals in the current climate. Managers in these hospitals are finding themselves, more than ever before, confronted by increasing pressures and demands which they must seek to understand and respond to in their service marketing mix strategy in order to achieve effective strategic marketing in terms of their choice of service marketing mix strategy components (namely health service, pricing, distribution, promotion, physical evidence, process, and personal strategies). This research, therefore, investigates the influence competitive environment factors have on the service marketing mix strategy components made by Jordanian private hospital managers, and on the reality of the Jordanian private hospital marketing. The literature review reveals that there is an extensive body of research that addresses service marketing mix strategy in general but there is less emphasis on the health sector. Moreover, evidence of the impact of a competitive environment on service marketing mix strategy and hospital performance measurements' criteria in the hospital industry is limited. In order to explore this issue, a triangulation method was used to collect primary data through a questionnaire, which was administered in the private sector hospitals in the six Jordanian governorates and, via in-depth semi structured interviews with hospital managers and experts in the health services in Jordan. All Jordanian general private sector hospitals were targeted in this research rather than a representative sample of these hospitals. A purposive sampling strategy was used to choose the participants in this research. In total, - 143 senior managers (general manager, administrative manager, medical manager, public relation manager, marketing manager, and out patients clinic manager) participated in this study. The results confirm significant differences in the influence of competitive environment factors on service marketing mix strategy components. They also reveal that the components of the marketing mix strategy have varied significant and insignificant influence on the hospital performance, which demonstrates that the hospital performance phenomenon is complicated and multi-dimensional in nature. Furthermore, the results exhibit that hospital managers might benefit more by placing more emphasis on an integrated service marketing mix strategy and recognising the competitive environment influences on their hospitals. The results also highlight several implications for future research in health services marketing and fills in several gaps in the existing literature on health services marketing. This research contributes to the academic and practical knowledge as being one of the first attempts to investigate empirically the impact of the competitive environment on service marketing mix strategy. As such, the influences of service marketing mix strategy on hospitals' performance criteria, identifying the main concerns and problems which face the management and marketing in Jordanian private sector hospitals, are explored in addition to recognising the vital roles of marketing in improving the hospital performance. This research integrates, refines and extends the empirical work conducted in the field of health services marketing in developing countries. It raises many implications for managers in these hospitals, such as considering the importance of influences by competitive environment on marketing mix strategy and the vital role this strategy plays in the performance of Jordanian private sector hospitals. This research provides useful guidelines for further and future research possibilities such as exploring the influence of the competitive environment factors influence on hospital performance criteria.

This study aims to analyze the effect of the 7P's marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion, process, people, physical building) on patient satisfaction in hospitals. Literature review is used for research methods, the initial step in determining the topic, the keywords used, Science Direct, Pro Quest, Google Scholar dan Elsevier are the database journals used. Reference search is limited from 2016 to 2020. The keywords used are “Marketing Mix 7p, Hospital, Patient Satisfaction”. Research references found there are 65 studies. A total of 55 articles were excluded and 10 articles were included in the discussion. Selection journals were selected based on inclusion criteria. The inclusion criteria in this study were the analysis of the influence of the 7P Marketing Mix on Patient Satisfaction in Hospitals. Based on the 5 studies reviewed, one study explained that the 7P marketing mix had a significant effect on patient satisfaction through statistical tests with p value = 0.00 < = 0.05. Abstract:Recently, a versatile user cooperation method called coded cooperation diversity has been introduced, in which the codewords of each mobile are partitioned and transmitted through independent fading channels instead of simple repetition relay, to achieve remarkable gains over a conventional (non-cooperation) system, while maintaining the same information rate and transmission power. In this paper we present an adaptive space-time (AST) coded cooperation scheme based on the decoding operation on the first partition of the codeword at the base station and enables practical adaptive arrangement of resources to adopt the channel condition. Performance analysis and simulation results have proved that the proposed scheme greatly improves error rate performance and system throughput, compared with the previous framework.

Abstract:This study attempted to investigate the influence of the 7Ps of marketing on customer satisfaction and loyalty in hair services with a goal of providing marketing strategies which are needed to increase revenues through such 7 elements of marketing. For this, a questionnaire survey was performed, and a total of 325 copies were used for final analysis. The collected data were analyzed by frequency analysis, reliability analysis and multiple regression analysis, using SPSS 21.0, and the results found the followings: First, among the 7Ps of marketing, ‘people’ was excluded. Instead, ‘partnership’ was added. In addition, customer satisfaction and loyalty are categorized as ‘uni-dimensional’. Second, as strategic marketing was used, customer satisfaction and loyalty further increased. Third, high customer satisfaction revealed high customer loyalty. In sum, it is anticipated that the 7Ps of marketing mix would have a positive influence on customer satisfaction and customer loyalty as differentiated strategic elements and increase sales. It is expected that there would further studies which are more reliable with a wide range of age and region and through segmentation of diverse variables.

Abstract:The marketing strategy used in tertiary care hospital medical services uses a variety of tactics to attract, keep, and engage patients. The primary objective is to provide patients with excellent medical care and positive practice. The methods are intended to increase the confidence and trustworthiness while giving them a unique and memorable experience. Digital marketing is one of the most critical marketing strategies for healthcare services. Social media, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), and other powerful techniques are required to attract new patients and keep them interested in the hospital. Another strategy to encourage current patients to tell their friends about the hospital is to use patient referral programmes and word-of-mouth advertising. Implementing patient-centred services and individualized treatment is another tactical approach.

Abstract:Patient satisfaction is a core tool for measuring the performance of the hospitals as well as the service provider and the services that they are providing to the patients. The aim of this research is to evaluate how information received, medical equipment, distance from the hospital, and physical infrastructure influenced patient satisfaction at public hospitals in Southern Punjab, Pakistan. An exploratory research technique was used. We distributed 700 questionnaires through a random method, and 579 provided proper responses. A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and a regression analysis were used for the data analysis. The study results illustrated that medical equipment, information received, distance from the hospital, and physical infrastructure had significantly positive impacts (p = 0.001) on patient satisfaction. To promote higher level of satisfaction, there is a need to take appropriate steps for improvement.
