Abstract:In the present paper, we study the weakly periodic p -adic quasi-Gibbs measures for the three-state Potts model on a Cayley tree of order two. Under some conditions, we show there exist 14 weakly periodic (non-periodic) p -adic quasi-Gibbs measures. Moreover, if then there are six weakly periodic p -adic Gibbs measures for this model. We also prove that if then a phase transition occurs for the Potts model on a Cayley tree of order two.

Abstract:We consider a mixed-type model given by the three-state Ising–Potts model on a Cayley tree. A criterion for the existence of limit Gibbs measures for this model on an arbitrary-order Cayley tree is obtained. Translation-invariant Gibbs measures on a second-order Cayley tree are studied. The existence of a phase transition is proved: a range of parameter values is found in which there are one to seven Gibbs measures for the three-state Ising–Potts model.

Abstract:Reviews in Mathematical Physics, Ahead of Print. In mathematical statistical mechanics, Gibbs measures have been designed to represent equilibrium states and to model phase transition. In the literature, Gibbs measures associated with the Ising model on Cayley trees have been extensively studied. However, the Ising model has not been studied on [math]-ary trees before. In this paper, the phase transition problem is investigated for the Ising model on [math]-ary trees. Specifically, the model on [math] and [math], respectively, displays three distinct translation-invariant Gibbs measures in both the ferromagnetic and anti-ferromagnetic states, whereas the traditional Ising model lacks translation-invariant Gibbs measures in the anti-ferromagnetic state. Moreover, non-translation invariant Gibbs measures are constructed as well. Furthermore, for the considered model, the standard free energy does not exist, in contrast to its existence over regular trees.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a Hard-Core $(HC)$ model with two spin values on Cayley trees. The conception of alternative Gibbs measure is introduced and translational invariance conditions for alternative Gibbs measures are found. Also, we show that the existence of alternative Gibbs measures which are not translation-invariant. In addition, we study free energy of the model.

Abstract:We consider fertile models with hard interactions, four states, and an activity parameter on a Cayley tree. We show that there are three types of such models: "stick," "key," and "generalized key." For the "generalized key" model on a Cayley tree of order , the uniqueness of the translation-invariant Gibbs measure is proved, and conditions for the existence of double-periodic Gibbs measures other than the translation-invariant ones are found. Moreover, in the case of a fertile graph of the "stick" type, the translation invariance of double-periodic Gibbs measures on a Cayley tree of orders is shown and conditions for the existence of double-periodic Gibbs measures other than the translation-invariant ones on a Cayley tree of order are found.

Abstract:Reviews in Mathematical Physics, Ahead of Print. In this paper, we focus on studying the non-probability Gibbs measures for a Hard-Core (HC) model on a Cayley tree of order [math], where the set of integers [math] is the set of spin values. It is well known that each Gibbs measure, whether it be a gradient or non-probability measure, of this model corresponds to a boundary law. A boundary law can be thought of as an infinite-dimensional vector function (with strictly positive coordinates) defined at the vertices of the Cayley tree, which satisfies a nonlinear functional equation. Furthermore, every normalizable boundary law corresponds to a Gibbs measure. However, a non-normalizable boundary law can define the gradient or non-probability Gibbs measures. In this paper, we investigate the conditions for uniqueness and non-uniqueness of translation-invariant and periodic non-probability Gibbs measures for the HC model on a Cayley tree of any order [math].

Abstract:The phase transition phenomenon is one of the central problems of statistical mechanics. It occurs when the model possesses multiple Gibbs measures. In this paper, we consider a three-state SOS (solid-on-solid) model on a Cayley tree. We reduce description of Gibbs measures to solving of a non-linear functional equation, which each solution of the equation corresponds to a Gibbs measure. We give some sufficiency conditions on the existence of multiple Gibbs measures for the model. We give a review of some known (translation-invariant, periodic, non-periodic) Gibbs measures of the model and compare them with our new measures. We show that the Gibbs measures found in the paper differ from the known Gibbs measures, i.e, we show that these measures are new.

Abstract:Work is a continuation of work TMPh, 175(2), 2013. We study the Potts model with zero external field on the Cayley tree. It is shown that for any values of the parameter all periodic Gibbs measures are translation-invariant for the q-state antiferromagnetic Potts model on the Cayley tree of order two and for the q-state ferromagnetic Potts model on the Cayley tree of order k.

Abstract:We investigate the finite-state $p$-solid-on-solid model, for $p=\infty$, on Cayley trees of order $k\geq 2$ and establish a system of functional equations where each solution corresponds to a (splitting) Gibbs measure of the model. Our main result is that, for three states, $k=2,3$ and increasing coupling strength, the number of translation-invariant Gibbs measures behaves as $1\to3\to5\to6\to7$. This phase diagram is qualitatively similar to the one observed for three-state $p$-SOS models with $p>0$ and, in the case of $k=2$, we demonstrate that, on the level of the functional equations, the transition $p\to\infty$ is continuous.

Abstract:In this paper we prove that for any integer $q\geq 5$, the anti-ferromagnetic $q$-state Potts model on the infinite $\Delta$-regular tree has a unique Gibbs measure for all edge interaction parameters $w\in [1-q/\Delta,1)$, provided $\Delta$ is large enough. This confirms a longstanding folklore conjecture.

Abstract:We study Gibbs properties of the fuzzy Potts model in the mean field case (i.e on a complete graph) and on trees. For the mean field case, a complete characterization of the set of temperatures for which non-Gibbsianness happens is given. The results for trees are somewhat less explicit, but we do show for general trees that non-Gibbsianness of the fuzzy Potts model happens exactly for those temperatures where the underlying Potts model has multiple Gibbs measures.

Abstract:Previous studies mainly focused on the p-adic Potts model with countable spin values, demonstrating that this model has only one p-adic Gibbs measure. Furthermore, it was shown that the model exhibits a phase transition in the set of generalized Gibbs measures. A challenge remained to find a countable spin p-adic model where the set of all p-adic Gibbs measures would include at least two elements. In this paper, we have examined the one-dimensional p-adic SOS model and demonstrated that the set of all p-adic Gibbs measures has continuum cardinality. This phenomenon has not been observed in countable state p-adic Potts models. Our result addresses the aforementioned problem affirmatively. To establish this finding, we employed a p-adic dynamical system related to the p-adic Gibbs measure through the renormalization group technique. Our analysis confirms the occurrence of a phase transition for the model in question.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the Ising-Vanniminus model on an arbitrary order Cayley tree. We generalize the results conjectured in [Chinese Journal of Physics, 54 (4), 635-649 (2016)] and [International Journal of Modern Physics, <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1608.06178" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1608.06178">arXiv:1608.06178</a>] for an arbitrary order Cayley tree. We establish existence and a full classification of translation invariant Gibbs measures with memory of length 2 associated with the model on arbitrary order Cayley tree. We construct the recurrence equations corresponding generalized ANNNI model. We satisfy the Kolmogorov \emph{consistency} condition. We propose a rigorous measure-theoretical approach to investigate the Gibbs measures with memory of length 2 for the model. We explain whether the number of branches of tree does not change the number of Gibbs measures. Also we take up with trying to determine when phase transition does occur.

Abstract:We provide a general theory of height-offset variables and their properties for nearest-neighbor integer-valued gradient models on trees. This notion goes back to Sheffield [25], who realized that such tail-measurable variables can be used to associate to gradient Gibbs measures also proper Gibbs measures, via the procedure of pinning at infinity. On the constructive side, our theory incorporates the existence of height-offset variables, regularity properties of their Lebesgue densities and concentration properties of the associated Gibbs measure. On the pathological side, we show that pinning at infinity necessarily comes at a cost. This phenomenon will be analyzed on the levels of translation invariance, the tree-indexed Markov chain property, and extremality. The scope of our theory incorporates free measures, and also height-periodic measures of period 2, assuming only finite second moments of the transfer operator which encodes the nearest neighbor interaction. Our proofs are based on investigations of the respective martingale limits, past and future tail-decompositions, and infinite product representations for moment generating functions.

Three-state $p$-SOS models on binary Cayley trees

Abstract:We consider a version of the solid-on-solid model on the Cayley tree of order two in which vertices carry spins of value $0,1$ or $2$ and the pairwise interaction of neighboring vertices is given by their spin difference to the power $p>0$. We exhibit all translation-invariant splitting Gibbs measures (TISGMs) of the model and demonstrate the existence of up to seven such measures, depending on the parameters. We further establish general conditions for extremality and non-extremality of TISGMs in the set of all Gibbs measures and use them to examine selected TISGMs for a small and a large $p$. Notably, our analysis reveals that extremality properties are similar for large $p$ compared to the case $p=1$, a case that has been explored already in previous work. However, for the small $p$, certain measures that were consistently non-extremal for $p=1$ do exhibit transitions between extremality and non-extremality.
