Abstract:In this article, we study global multiplicity result for a class of modified quasilinear singular equations involving the critical exponential growth: where Ω is a smooth bounded domain in R 2 , 0 < q < 3 , and α : Ω → ( 0 , + ∞ ) such that α ∈ L ∞ ( Ω ) . The function f : Ω × R → R is continuous and enjoys critical exponential growth of the Trudinger-Moser type. Using a sub-super solution method, we show that there exists some Λ * > 0 such that for all λ ∈ ( 0 , Λ * ) , the problem has at least two positive solutions, for λ = Λ * , the problem achieves at least one positive solution for λ > Λ * , and the problem has no solutions.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the following singular quasilinear equation, where , $0<\beta <n$ , and f has critical exponential growth at infinity. We establish a compactness lemma for functional and develop some delicate analyses to deal with non-standard difficulties caused by singular term and the compactness issue. We introduce some natural assumptions on the nonlinearity f and obtain the existence of Mountain-pass type solution and ground state solution for above equation. Moreover, two distinct solutions, one has positive energy while the other one has negative energy, are established for the above equation with a perturbation.</n\)<>

Abstract:In this paper, we establish existence of infinitely many weak solutions for a class of quasilinear stationary Kirchhoff‐type equations, which involves a general variable exponent elliptic operator with critical growth. Precisely, we study the following nonlocal problem: where Ω is a bounded smooth domain of , with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions on ∂ Ω, the nonlinearity is a continuous function, is a function of the class is a continuous function, whose properties will be introduced later, λ is a positive parameter and . We assume that , where is the critical Sobolev exponent. We will prove that the problem has infinitely many solutions and also we obtain the asymptotic behavior of the solution as λ → 0 + . Furthermore, we emphasize that a difference with previous researches is that the conditions on a (·) are general overall enough to incorporate some interesting differential operators. Our work covers a feature of the Kirchhoff's problems, that is, the fact that the Kirchhoff's function M in zero is different from zero, it also covers a wide class of nonlocal problems for p ( x ) > 1, for all . The main tool to find critical points of the Euler–Lagrange functional associated with this problem is through a suitable truncation argument, concentration‐compactness principle for variable exponent found in Bonder and Silva (2010), and the genus theory introduced by Krasnoselskii. The result of this paper extends or complements, or else completes recent papers and is new in several directions for the stationary Kirchhoff equations involving the p ( x )‐Laplacian type operators.

Abstract:We study the existence of infinitely many solutions for the following quasilinear elliptic equations with critical growth: where b_ij∈ C^1(ℝ,ℝ) satisfies the growth condition |b_ij(t)|∼ |t|^2s-2 at infinity, s≥ 1 , Ω⊂ℝ^N is an open bounded domain with smooth boundary, a is a constant. Here we use the notations: D_i=∂/∂ x_i, b'_ij(t)=db_ij(t)/dt. We will study the effect of the terms a|v|^2s-2v and b_ij(v) on the existence of an unbounded sequence of solutions for (P). Here, we do not assume the crucial global monotone condition. We overcome the difficulties caused by the lack of such monotone condition by performing various kinds of changes of variables.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, we first develop the fractional Trudinger–Moser inequality in singular case and then we use it to study the existence and multiplicity of solutions for a class of perturbed fractional Kirchhoff type problems with singular exponential nonlinearity. Under some suitable assumptions, the existence of two nontrivial and nonnegative solutions is obtained by using the mountain pass theorem and Ekeland’s variational principle as the nonlinear term satisfies critical or subcritical exponential growth conditions. Moreover, the existence of ground state solutions for the aforementioned problems without perturbation and without the Ambrosetti–Rabinowitz condition is investigated.

Non-existence and multiplicity of positive solutions for Choquard equations with critical combined nonlinearities

Abstract:We study the non-existence and multiplicity of positive solutions of the nonlinear Choquard type equation $$ -\Delta u+ \varepsilon u=(I_\alpha \ast |u|^{p})|u|^{p-2}u+ |u|^{q-2}u, \quad {\rm in} \ \mathbb R^N, \qquad (P_\varepsilon)$$ where $N\ge 3$ is an integer, $p\in [\frac{N+\alpha}{N}, \frac{N+\alpha}{N-2}]$, $q\in (2,\frac{2N}{N-2}]$, $I_\alpha$ is the Riesz potential of order $\alpha\in (0,N)$ and $\varepsilon>0$ is a parameter. We fix one of $p,q$ as a critical exponent (in the sense of Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev and Sobolev inequalities ) and view the others in $p,q,\varepsilon, \alpha$ as parameters, we find regions in the $(p,q,\alpha, \varepsilon)$-parameter space, such that the corresponding equation has no positive ground state or admits multiple positive solutions. This is a counterpart of the Brezis-Nirenberg Conjecture (Brezis-Nirenberg, CPAM, 1983) for nonlocal elliptic equation in the whole space. Particularly, some threshold results for the existence of ground states and some conditions which insure two positive solutions are obtained. These results are quite different in nature from the corresponding local equation with combined powers nonlinearity and reveal the special influence of the nonlocal term. To the best of our knowledge, the only two papers concerning the multiplicity of positive solutions of elliptic equations with critical growth nonlinearity are given by Atkinson, Peletier (Nonlinear Anal, 1986) for elliptic equation on a ball and Juncheng Wei, Yuanze Wu (Proc. Royal Soc. Edinburgh, 2022) for elliptic equation with a combined powers nonlinearity in the whole space. The ODE technique is main ingredient in the proofs of the above mentioned papers, however, ODE technique does not work any more in our model equation due to the presence of the nonlocal term.

This paper deals with global compactness and the multiplicity of positive solutions to problems of the type −ΔBNu − λu = a(x)|u|2∗−2u + f(x)in BN, u ∈ H1(BN), where [math] denotes the ball model of the hyperbolic space of dimension [math], [math], [math] and [math] ([math]) is a nonnegative functional in the dual space of [math]. The potential [math] is assumed to be strictly positive, such that [math], where [math] denotes the geodesic distance. We establish profile decomposition of the functional associated with the above equation. We show that concentration occurs along two different profiles, namely, hyperbolic bubbles and localized Aubin–Talenti bubbles. For [math] and [math], profile decomposition was studied in Bhakta and Sandeep [Poincaré–Sobolev equations in the hyperbolic space, Calc. Var. Partial Differential Equations 44 (2012) 247–269]. However, due to the presence of the potential [math], an extension of profile decomposition to the present set-up is highly nontrivial and requires several delicate estimates and geometric arguments concerning the isometry group (Möbius group) of the hyperbolic space. Further, using the decomposition result, we derive various energy estimates involving the interacting hyperbolic bubbles and hyperbolic bubbles with localized Aubin–Talenti bubbles. Finally, combining these estimates with topological and variational arguments, we establish a multiplicity of positive solutions in the cases: [math] and [math] separately. Abstract:The purpose of this paper is three-fold. First, we establish singular Trudinger–Moser inequalities with less restrictive constraint: where 0 < β < 2 , V ( x ) ≥ 0 and may vanish on an open set in R 2 . Second, we consider the existence of ground states to the following Schrödinger equations with critical exponential growth in R 2 : where the nonlinearity f has the critical exponential growth. In order to overcome the lack of compactness, we develop a method which is based on the threshold of the least energy, an embedding theorem introduced in (C. Zhang and L. Chen, "Concentration-compactness principle of singular Trudinger-Moser inequalities in R n and n -Laplace equations," Adv. Nonlinear Stud. , vol. 18, no. 3, pp. 567–585, 2018) and the Nehari manifold to get the existence of ground states. Abstract:This paper deals with the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for $(p, Q)$-Laplace equations with the Stein-Weiss reaction under critical exponential nonlinearity in the Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}^N$. In addition, a weight function and two positive parameters have also been included in the nonlinearity. The developed analysis is significantly influenced by these two parameters. Further, the mountain pass theorem, the Ekeland variational principle, the Trudinger-Moser inequality, the doubly weighted Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality and a completely new Brézis-Lieb type lemma for Choquard nonlinearity play key roles in our proofs.

Abstract:In this article, we establish the existence of nonnegative solutions to the following quasilinear and singular elliptic problems with supercritical nonlinearity: where is an open, bounded subset of with boundary, h is a positive real-valued function, \(1 and are positive parameters. The main contribution of this paper is the treatment of singular and supercritical nonlinearities on the right-hand side in the presence of the nonhomogeneous -Laplace operator. To demonstrate the existence of a weak solution, we utilise the method of sub and supersolution.

Under a local condition imposed on the potential, we relate the number of positive solutions with the topology of the set where the potential attains its minimum values. In the proofs we apply Szulkin and Weth's generalized Nehari manifold methods, penalization techniques and Ljusternik–Schnirelmann theory.

Abstract:In this paper we prove new multiplicity results for a critical growth anisotropic quasilinear elliptic system that is coupled through a subcritical perturbation term. We identify a certain scaling for the system and a parameter {\gamma} related to this scaling that determines the geometry of the associated variational functional. This leads to a natural classification of different nonlinear regimes for the system in terms of scaling properties of the perturbation term. We give three different types of multiplicity results in the three regimes {\gamma} = 1, {\gamma} > 1, and {\gamma} < 1. Proofs of our multiplicity results are based on a new abstract critical point theorem for symmetric functionals on product spaces, which we prove using the piercing property of the Z2-cohomological index of Fadell and Rabinowitz. This abstract result only requires a local (PS) condition and is therefore applicable to systems with critical growth. It is of independent interest as it has wide applicability to many different types of critical elliptic systems. We also indicate how it can be applied to obtain similar multiplicity results for nonlocal systems.

Abstract:In this article, we study an elliptic problem of mixed order with both local and nonlocal aspects involving singular nonlinearity in combination with critical Hartree-type nonlinearity. Using variational methods together with the critical point theory of nonsmooth analysis and the geometry of the energy functional, we show the existence and multiplicity of positive solutions with respect to the parameter $\lambda$.

Abstract:We investigate the existence, non-existence, and multiplicity of positive solutions to a class of quasilinear Schrodinger equations with a prescribed mass condition in higher dimensions. Using the dual approach, the equation is transformed into a corresponding semilinear form. A global branch approach is employed to address nonlinearities that may be mass subcritical, critical, or supercritical. This study further examines the asymptotic behavior of positive solutions as the parameter approaches zero or infinity and identifies a continuum of unbounded solutions within the functional space under consideration.

Abstract:The present article investigates the existence, multiplicity and regularity of weak solutions of problems involving a combination of critical Hartree type nonlinearity along with singular and discontinuous nonlinearity. By applying variational methods and using the notion of generalized gradients for Lipschitz continuous functional, we obtain the existence and the multiplicity of weak solutions for some suitable range of $\lambda$ and $\gamma$. Finally by studying the $L^\infty$-estimates and boundary behavior of weak solutions, we prove their Hölder and Sobolev regularity.
