Abstract:A difficult question arising in the study of effect algebras is how to equip them with a fitting and proper topology such that the topology is compatible with the partial operations ⊕ and Θ. As we know, the Frink ideal topology is an important intrinsic topology for studying partially ordered set theory; in particular, it is the correct topology for chains and direct products of a finite number of chains. In this paper, we show that the Frink ideal topology is also a nice topology for studying effect-algebra theory since it provides the operations with some of the expected continuity properties.

Abstract:In this paper, Lowen's strong fuzzy compactness and ultra-fuzzy compactness of I-topological spaces are extended to L-subsets, for L—a complete lattice. The properties of strong fuzzy compact L-subsets and ultra-fuzzy compact L-subsets are studied in detail here, and comparisons between these notions as well as the notion of N-compactness are shown.

Abstract:This article initiates the study of topological transcendental fields $\FF$ which are subfields of the topological field $\CC$ of all complex numbers such that $\FF$ consists of only rational numbers and a nonempty set of transcendental numbers. $\FF$, with the topology it inherits as a subspace of $\CC$, is a topological field. Each topological transcendental field is a separable metrizable zero-dimensional space and algebraically is $\QQ(T)$, the extension of the field of rational numbers by a set $T$ of transcendental numbers. It is proved that there exist precisely $2^{\aleph_0}$ countably infinite topological transcendental fields and each is homeomorphic to the space $\QQ$ of rational numbers with its usual topology. It is also shown that there is a class of $2^{2^{\aleph_0} }$ of topological transcendental fields of the form $\QQ(T)$ with $T$ a set of Liouville numbers, no two of which are homeomorphic.

Abstract:We study an extension problem for continuous linear maps in the setting of (LB)-spaces. More precisely, we characterize the pairs (E, Z), where E is a locally complete space with a fundamental sequence of bounded sets and Z is an (LB)-space, such that for every exact sequence of (LB)-spaces the map L(Y,E)→L(X,E),T↦T∘ι$$\begin{aligned} L(Y,E) \rightarrow L(X, E), ~ T \mapsto T \circ \iota \end{aligned}$$is surjective, meaning that each continuous linear map X→E$$X \rightarrow E$$ can be extended to a continuous linear map Y→E$$Y \rightarrow E$$ via ι$$\iota $$, under some mild conditions on E or Z (e.g. one of them is nuclear). We use our extension result to obtain sufficient conditions for the surjectivity of tensorized maps between Fréchet-Schwartz spaces. As an application of the latter, we study vector-valued Eidelheit type problems. Our work is inspired by and extends results of Vogt [24].

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to build relationships between point logics and logical algebras. Firstly, by modifying Vickers’s Scott open filters, the notion of the -filters of a topological system is introduced. It is proved that the -filters are lattice filters, but the converse is not true. Secondly, the concrete forms of infimum, supremum and implication of the set of all -filters are obtained. It is shown that the set of all -filters of a topological system is a (co)frame and a completely distributive lattice. Finally, we prove that the set of all maximal -filters are endowed with two topologies forming a T_2 space and a T_1 space.

Abstract:Vector spaces over finite fields and Anzahl formulas of subspaces were studied by Wan (Geometry of Classical Groups over Finite Fields, Science Press, 2002). As a generalization, we study vector spaces and singular linear spaces over commutative rings and obtain some Anzahl formulas of subspaces. Moreover, we discuss arcs and caps by using these formulas.

Abstract:Realization by linear vector fields is constructed for any Lie algebra which admits a biorthogonal system and for its any suitable representation. The embedding into Lie algebras of linear vector fields is analogous to the classical Jordan-Schwinger map. A number of examples of such Lie algebras of linear vector fields is computed. In particular, we obtain examples of the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro Lie algebra and the Schrödinger-Virasoro Lie algebras among others. More generally, we construct an embedding of an arbitrary locally convex topological algebra into the Cuntz algebra.

Categorified Open Topological Field Theories

Abstract:In this short note, we classify linear categorified open topological field theories in dimension two by pivotal Grothendieck-Verdier categories. In combination with recently developed string-net techniques, this leads to a new description of the spaces of conformal blocks of Drinfeld centers $Z(\mathcal{C})$ of pivotal finite tensor categories $\mathcal{C}$ in terms of the modular envelope of the cyclic associative operad. If $\mathcal{C}$ is unimodular, we prove that the space of conformal blocks inherits the structure of a module over the algebra of class functions of $\mathcal{C}$ for every free boundary component. As a further application, we prove that the sewing along a boundary circle for the modular functor for $Z(\mathcal{C})$ can be decomposed into a sewing procedure along an interval and the application of the partial trace. Finally, we construct mapping class group representations from Grothendieck-Verdier categories that are not necessarily rigid and make precise how these generalize existing constructions.

Although we have a suitable vector lattice structure for the tensor product E and F (known as the Fremlin tensor product and denoted by E\otimesF), there is a lack of topological structure on E\otimes F, in general. Abstract:In this paper, motivated by a diffeological vector space with the D -topology, we introduce the concept of quasitopological vector space, which is a vector space with a topology satisfying the conditions that the vector addition is separately continuous in each variable, and the scalar multiplication is jointly continuous. The following results are proved: (1) Every quasitopological finite-dimensional vector space is a topological vector space. (2) For each infinite-dimensional vector space, we define a T1 non-Hausdorff topology on it such that it is a quasitopological vector space but is not a topological vector space.

Abstract:A great open problem is: can one learn the topology of the non-smooth path spaces with an L2 Hodge-deRham theory This one hopes to establish through a suitable complex of differential forms. Since the space is a Banach manifolds, and the Hodge theory is based on Hilbert spaces, it is trick to find such a complex. The relatively simpler Bismut tangent spaces and their tensor products, whose dual spaces are natural candidates for the complex, cannot be used, because these spaces are not necessarily closed under the Lie bracket operation if there is the effect of curvature. In this article we seek out a class of nice vector fields whose brackets behaves are calculable and behave nicely the damped tensor vector fields, using an Itô mp, which is also used by the authors in `Special Itô maps and an L2 Hodge theory for one forms on path spaces. Abstract:The initial part of this paper is devoted to the notion of pseudo-seminorm on a vector space $E$. We prove that the topology of every topological vector space is defined by a family of pseudo-seminorms (and so, as it is known, it is uniformizable). Then we devote ourselves to the Lipschitz vector structures on $E$, that is those Lipschitz structures on $E$ for which the addition is a Lipschitz map, while the scalar multiplication is a locally Lipschitz map, and we prove that any topological vector structure on $E$ is associated to some Lipschitz vector structure. Afterwards, we attend to the bornological Lipschitz maps. The final part of the article is devoted to the Lipschitz vector structures compatible with locally convex topologies on $E$.

Abstract:We establish the equivalence between Levitt-Ranicki's theory and Brumfiel-Morgan, Madsen-Milgram, Morgan-Sullivan, Rourke-Sullivan, Sullivan's theories. This answers Brumfiel's question on the equivalence. These two theories are fundamental tools to study the existence and uniqueness of $TOP$ bundle reductions for spherical fibrations, which is equivalent to the existence and uniqueness of manifolds in a homotopy type.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to study fields whose multiplicative groups admit the structure of linear spaces. We prove that the multiplicative group of a finite field is a linear space if and only if the order of the multiplicative group is 1, 2, or a Mersenne prime. We give necessary conditions for the multiplicative group of an infinite field to be a linear space over another field. We also construct an example of an infinite field whose multiplicative group is a linear space over $\mathbb{Q}$.

Abstract:We construct the space of vector fields on quantum groups . Its elements are products of the known left invariant vector fields with the elements of the quantum group itself. We also study the duality between vector fields and 1-forms. The construction is easily generalized to tensor fields. A Lie derivative along any (also non left invariant) vector field is proposed. These results hold for a generic Hopf algebra.

Abstract:Drawing on work of Berndtsson and of Lempert and Szőke, we define a kind of complex analytic structure for families of (possibly finite-dimensional) Hilbert spaces that might not fit together to form a holomorphic vector bundle but nevertheless have a reasonable definition of curvature that agrees with the curvature of the Chern connection when the family of Hilbert spaces is locally trivial. We thus obtain a new proof of a celebrated theorem of Berndtsson on the curvature of direct images of semi-positively twisted relative canonical bundles (i.e., adjoint bundles), and of its higher-rank generalization due to Liu and Yang.
