Abstract:We characterize zero sets for which every subset remains a zero set too in the Fock space $\mathcal{F}^p$, $1\leq p<\infty$. We are also interested in the study of a stability problem for some examples of uniqueness set with zero excess in Fock spaces.

Abstract:A sequence $Z$ in the complex plane $\C$ is called a zero sequence for the Fock space $F^p_\alpha$ if there exists a function $f\in F^p_\alpha$, not identically zero, such that $Z$ is the zero set of $f$, counting multiplicities. We show that there exist zero sequences $Z$ for $F^p_\alpha$ with the following properties: (1) For any $a\in\C$ the sequence $Z\cup\{a\}$ is no longer a zero sequence for $F^p_\alpha$; (2) the space $I_Z$ consisting of all functions in $F^p_\alpha$ that vanish on $Z$ is one dimensional. These $Z$ are naturally called maximal zero sequences for $F^p_\alpha$.

Abstract:In this paper, we analyze the existence of algebraic and topological structures in the set of sequences that contain only a finite number of zero coordinates. Inspired by the work of Daniel Cariello and Juan B. Seoane-Sepúlveda, our research reveals new insights and complements their notable results beyond the classical $ \ell_p $ spaces for $ p $ in the interval from 1 to infinity, including the intriguing case where $ p $ is between 0 and 1. Our exploration employs notions such as S-lineability, pointwise lineability, and (alpha, beta)-spaceability. This investigation allowed us to verify, for instance, that the set $ F \setminus Z(F) $, where $ F $ is a closed subspace of $ \ell_p $ containing $ c_0 $, is (alpha, c)-spaceable if and only if alpha is finite.

Abstract:We obtain a complete characterization of the bounded Hausdorff operators acting on a Fock space $F^p_\alpha$ and taking its values into a larger one $F^q_\alpha,\ 0 < p \leq q \leq \infty,$ as well as some necessary or sufficient conditions for a Hausdorff operator to transform a Fock space into a smaller one. Some results are written in the context of mixed norm Fock spaces. Also the compactness of Hausdorff operators on a Fock space is characterized. The compactness result for Hausdorff operators on the Fock space $F^\infty_\alpha$ is extended to more general Banach spaces of entire functions with weighted sup norms defined in terms of a radial weight and conditions for the Hausdorff operators to become $p$-summing are also included.

Abstract:We study the Fock quantization of a free Dirac field in 2+1-dimensional backgrounds which are conformally ultrastatic, with a time-dependent conformal factor. As it is typical for field theories, there is an infinite ambiguity in the Fock representation of the canonical anticommutation relations. Different choices may lead to unitarily inequivalent theories that describe different physics. To remove this ambiguity one usually requires that the vacuum be invariant under the unitary transformations that implement the symmetries of the equations of motion. However, in non-stationary backgrounds, where time translation is not a symmetry transformation, the requirement of vacuum invariance is in general not enough to fix completely the Fock representation. We show that this problem is overcome in the considered scenario by demanding, in addition, a unitarily implementable quantum dynamics. The combined imposition of these conditions selects a unique family of equivalent Fock representations. Moreover, one also obtains an essentially unique splitting of the time variation of the Dirac field into an explicit dependence on the background scale factor and a quantum evolution of the corresponding creation and annihilation operators.

In this paper, given p ∈ ( 0 , 1 ] we introduce the concept of weakly localized operators on F φ p , we characterize the compact operators in the algebra generated by weakly localized operators. As an application, for 0 < p < ∞ we prove that an operator T in the algebra generated by bounded Toeplitz operators with BMO symbols is compact on F φ p if and only if its Berezin transform satisfies certain vanishing property at ∞. In the classical Fock space, we extend the Axler–Zheng condition on linear operators T, which ensures T is compact on F α p for all possible 0 < p < ∞ .

Abstract:Irredundance has been studied in the context of dominating sets, via the concept of private neighbor. Here irredundance of zero forcing sets is introduced via the concept of a private fort and the upper and lower zero forcing irrdedundance numbers $\mbox{ZIR}(G)$ and $\mbox{zir}(G)$ are defined. Bounds on $\mbox{ZIR}(G)$ and $\mbox{zir}(G)$ are established and graphs having extreme values of $\mbox{ZIR}(G)$ and $\mbox{zir}(G)$ are characterized. The effect of the join and corona operations is studied. As the concept of a zero forcing irrdedundant set is new, there are many questions for future research.

Abstract:All spaces are assumed to be separable and metrizable. Ostrovsky showed that every zero-dimensional Borel space is $\sigma$-homogeneous. Inspired by this theorem, we obtain the following results: assuming $\mathsf{AD}$, every zero-dimensional space is $\sigma$-homogeneous; assuming $\mathsf{AC}$, there exists a zero-dimensional space that is not $\sigma$-homogeneous; assuming $\mathsf{V=L}$, there exists a coanalytic zero-dimensional space that is not $\sigma$-homogeneous. Along the way, we introduce two notions of hereditary rigidity, and give alternative proofs of results of van Engelen, Miller and Steel. It is an open problem whether every analytic zero-dimensional space is $\sigma$-homogeneous.

Abstract:We introduce a notion of real rank zero for inclusions of C$^*$-algebras. After showing that our definition has many equivalent characterisations, we offer a complete description of the commutative case. We provide permanence and K-theoretic properties of inclusions of real rank zero and prove that a large class of full infinite inclusions have real rank zero.

Abstract:We compare the canonical bases of level-$1$ quantised Fock spaces in affine types $A^{(1)}$ and $A^{(2)}$, showing how to derive the canonical basis in type $A^{(2)}_{2n}$ from the the canonical basis in type $A^{(1)}_n$ in certain weight spaces. In particular, we derive an explicit formula for the canonical basis in extremal weight spaces, which correspond to RoCK blocks of double covers of symmetric groups. In a forthcoming paper with Kleshchev and Morotti we will use this formula to find the decomposition numbers for RoCK blocks of double covers with abelian defect.

Abstract:We provide a summary of research on disjoint zero-sum subsets in finite Abelian groups, which is a branch of additive group theory and combinatorial number theory. An orthomorphism of a group $\Gamma$ is defined as a bijection $\varphi$ $\Gamma$ such that the mapping $g \mapsto g^{-1}\varphi(g)$ is also bijective. In 1981, Friedlander, Gordon, and Tannenbaum conjectured that when $\Gamma$ is Abelian, for any $k \geq 2$ dividing $|\Gamma| -1$, there exists an orthomorphism of $\Gamma$ fixing the identity and permuting the remaining elements as products of disjoint $k$-cycles. Using the idea of disjoint-zero sum subset we provide a solution of this conjecture for $k=3$ and $|\Gamma|\cong 4\pmod{24}$. We also present some applications of zero-sum sets in graph labeling.

Abstract:Zero-sum problems for abelian groups and covers of the integers by residue classes, are two different active topics initiated by P. Erdős more than 40 years ago and investigated by many researchers separately since then. In an earlier announcement [S03b], the author claimed some surprising connections among these seemingly unrelated fascinating areas. In this paper we establish further connections between zero-sum problems for abelian p-groups and covers of the integers. For example, we extend the famous Erdős-Ginzburg-Ziv theorem in the following way: If { a s (mod ns)} s=1 k covers each integer either exactly 2q − 1 times or exactly 2q times where q is a prime power, then for any c 1,...,c k ∈ ℤ/qℤ there exists an I ⊆ {1,...,k} such that ∑ s∈I 1/n s = q and ∑ s∈I c s = 0. The main theorem of this paper unifies many results in the two realms and also implies an extension of the Alon-Friedland-Kalai result on regular subgraphs.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the Fock space over $\mathbb{C}^{\infty}$ and obtain an isomorphism between the Fock space over $\mathbb{C}^{\infty}$ and Bose-Fock space. Based on this isomorphism, we obtain representations of some operators on the Bose-Fock space and answer a question in \cite{coburn1985}. As a physical application, we study the Gibbs state.

Abstract:We study the Fock quantization of scalar fields in (generically) time dependent scenarios, focusing on the case in which the field propagation occurs in --either a background or effective-- spacetime with spatial sections of flat compact topology. The discussion finds important applications in cosmology, like e.g. in the description of test Klein-Gordon fields and scalar perturbations in Friedmann-Robertson-Walker spacetime in the observationally favored flat case. Two types of ambiguities in the quantization are analyzed. First, the infinite ambiguity existing in the choice of a Fock representation for the canonical commutation relations, understandable as the freedom in the choice of inequivalent vacua for a given field. Besides, in cosmological situations, it is customary to scale the fields by time dependent functions, which absorb part of the evolution arising from the spacetime, which is treated classically. This leads to an additional ambiguity, this time in the choice of a canonical pair of field variables. We show that both types of ambiguities are removed by the requirements of (a) invariance of the vacuum under the symmetries of the three-torus, and (b) unitary implementation of the dynamics in the quantum theory. In this way, one arrives at a unique class of unitarily equivalent Fock quantizations for the system. This result provides considerable robustness to the quantum predictions and renders meaningful the confrontation with observation.

Abstract:In this paper, we extend the Brown-Halmos theorems to the Fock space and investigate the range of the Berezin transform. We observe that there are non-pluriharmonic functions $u$ that can be written as a finite sum $B(u)=\sum_lf_l\overline{g_l}$, where $f_l,g_l$ are holomorphic functions belonging to the class $\mathrm{Sym}(\mathbb{C}^n)$. In addition, we solve an open question about the zero product of Toeplitz operators, which was posed by Bauer et al. in 2015. Our results reveal that the Brown-Halmos theorems on the Fock space are more complicated than that on the classical Bergman space.
