Abstract:The authors consider the problem of conformally deforming a metric such that the k-curvature defined by an elementary symmetric function of the eigenvalues of the Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor on a compact manifold with boundary to a prescribed function. A consequence of our main result is that there exists a complete metric such that the Monge-Ampère type equation with respect to its Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor is solvable, provided that the initial Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor belongs to a negative convex cone.

Abstract:Using the ABP-method as in a recent work by Brendle (Commun Pure Appl Math 76:2192–2218, 2022), we establish some sharp Sobolev and isoperimetric inequalities for compact domains and submanifolds in a complete Riemannian manifold with asymptotically nonnegative Ricci/sectional curvature. These inequalities generalize those given by Brendle in the case of complete Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative curvature.

Abstract:We prove Michael-Simon type Sobolev inequalities for n -dimensional submanifolds in -dimensional Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative k th intermediate Ricci curvature by using the Alexandrov-Bakelman-Pucci method. Here . These inequalities extend Brendle's Michael-Simon type Sobolev inequalities on Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative sectional curvature Brendle (Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 76 (9), 2192–2218 (2022)) and Dong-Lin-Lu's Michael-Simon type Sobolev inequalities on Riemannian manifolds with asymptotically nonnegative sectional curvature Dong et al. (Sobolev inequalities in manifolds with asymptotically nonnegative curvature, 2022) to the k -Ricci curvature setting. In particular, a simple application of these inequalities gives rise to some isoperimetric inequalities for minimal submanifolds in Riemannian manifolds.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate Yau's rigidity problem for compact submanifolds with parallel mean curvature in pinched Riemannian manifolds. Firstly, we prove that if M-n is an oriented closed minimal submanifold in an (n + p)-dimensional complete simply connected Riemannian manifold Nn(+p), then there exists a constant delta(0)(n, p) is an element of (0, 1) such that if the sectional curvature of N satisfies (K) over bar (N) is an element of[delta(0)(n, p), 1], and if M has a lower bound for the sectional curvature and an upper bound for the normalized scalar curvature, then N is isometric to Sn+p. Moreover, M is either a totally geodesic sphere, one of the Clifford minimal hypersurfaces S-k(root k/n) x S-n (k)(root n-k/n) in Sn+1 for k = 1,..., n-1, or the Veronese submanifold in Sn+d, where d = 1/2n(n + 1) - 1. We then generalize the above theorem to the case where M ia a compact submanifold with parallel mean curvature in a pinched Riemannian manifold.

Abstract:We prove a sharp Log-Sobolev inequality for submanifolds of a complete non-compact Riemannian manifold with asymptotic non-negative intermediate Ricci curvature and Euclidean volume growth. Our work extends a result of Dong et al. (Acta Math. Sci. Ser. B (Engl. Ed.), 44(1):189–194 (2024)) which already generalizes Yi and Zheng (To appear in Chin. Ann. Math., (2023)) and Brendle (Comm. Pure Appl. Math. 75 (3), 449–454 (2022)).

Abstract:We study the qualitative stability of two classes of Sobolev inequalities on Riemannian manifolds. In the case of positive Ricci curvature, we prove that an almost extremal function for the sharp Sobolev inequality is close to an extremal function of the round sphere. In the setting of non-negative Ricci curvature and Euclidean volume growth, we show an analogous result in comparison with the extremal functions in the Euclidean Sobolev inequality. As an application, we deduce a stability result for minimizing Yamabe metrics. The arguments rely on a generalized Lions' concentration compactness on varying spaces and on rigidity results of Sobolev inequalities on singular spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we study 3-dimensional complete non-compact Riemannian manifolds with asymptotically nonnegative Ricci curvature and a uniformly positive scalar curvature lower bound. Our main result is that, if this manifold has $k$ ends and finite first Betti number, then it has at most linear volume growth, and furthermore, if the negative part of Ricci curvature decays sufficiently fast at infinity, then we have an optimal asymptotic volume ratio $\limsup_{r\rightarrow\infty}\frac{\mathrm{Vol}(B(p, r))}{r}\leq4k\pi$. In particular, our results apply to 3-dimensional complete non-compact Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature and a uniformly positive scalar curvature lower bound.

Abstract:In this paper we prove a rigidity result for the equality case of the Penrose inequality on 3-dimensional asymptotically flat manifolds with nonnegative scalar curvature and corners. Our result also has deep connections with the equality cases of Theorem 1 in Miao (Commun Math Phys 292(1):271–284, 2009 ) and Theorem 1.1 in Lu and Miao (Minimal hypersurfaces and boundary behavior of compact manifolds with nonnegative scalar curvature, arXiv:1703.08164v2 , 2017 ).

Abstract:In their seminal work, Cordero-Erausquin, Nazaret and Villani [Adv. Math., 2004] proved sharp Sobolev inequalities in Euclidean spaces via Optimal Mass Transportation, raising the question whether their approach is powerful enough to produce sharp Sobolev inequalities also on Riemannian manifolds. In this paper we affirmatively answer their question for Riemannian manifolds with non-negative Ricci curvature; namely, by using Optimal Mass Transportation with quadratic distance cost, sharp $L^p$-Sobolev and $L^p$-logarithmic Sobolev inequalities (both for $p>1$ and $p=1$) are established, where the optimal constants contain the asymptotic volume growth arising from precise asymptotic properties of the Talentian and Gaussian bubbles. As a byproduct, we give an alternative, elementary proof to the main result of do Carmo and Xia [Compos. Math., 2004] (and subsequent results) concerning the quantitative volume non-collapsing estimates on Riemannian manifolds with non-negative Ricci curvature that support certain Sobolev inequalities.

Abstract:The ABP method for proving isoperimetric inequalities has been first employed by Cabr\'e in $\mathbb{R}^n$, then developed by Brendle, notably in the context of non-compact Riemannian manifolds of non-negative Ricci curvature and positive asymptotic volume ratio. In this paper, we expand upon their approach and prove isoperimetric inequalities (sharp in the limit) in the presence of a small amount of negative curvature. First, we consider smallness of the negative part $\mathrm{Ric}_-$ of the Ricci curvature in terms of its elliptic Kato constant. Indeed, the Kato constant turns out to control the non-negativity of the ($\infty$-)Bakry-\'Emery Ricci-tensor of a suitable conformal deformation of the manifold, and the ABP method can be implemented in this setting. Secondly, we show that the smallness of the Kato constant is implied by a suitable polynomial decay of $\mathrm{Ric}_-$, provided that the asymptotic volume ratio is positive. To show this latter fact, we enhance techniques elaborated by Li-Tam and Kasue to obtain new estimates of the Green function valid on the whole manifold.

Abstract:In this work we establish a sharp geometric inequality for closed hypersurfaces in complete noncompact Riemannian manifolds with asymptotically nonnegative curvature using standard comparison methods in Riemannian Geometry. These methods have been applied in a recent work by Xiaodong Wang to greatly simplify the proof of a Willmore-type inequality in complete noncompact Riemannian manifolds of nonnegative Ricci curvature, which was first proved by Agostiniani, Fagagnolo and Mazzieri.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the scalar curvature in the distributional sense of \cite{MR3366052} and the scalar curvature lower bound in the $\beta-$weak $(\beta\in(0, \frac{1}{2}))$ sense of \cite{MR4685089} on an asymptotically flat $n-$manifold with a $W^{1,p}(p>n)$ metric. We first show that the scalar curvature lower bound under the Ricci-DeTurck flow depends on the scalar curvature lower bound in the $\beta-$weak sense and the time. Then we prove that the lower bound of the distributional scalar curvature of a $W^{1, p}$ metric coincides with the lower bound of the scalar curvature in the $\beta-$weak sense at infinity.

Abstract:In this paper, we present a unified method for deriving differential Harnack inequalities for positive solutions of the semilinear parabolic equation \begin{equation*} \partial_t u=\Delta_V u+H(u) \end{equation*} on complete Riemannian manifolds with Bakry-Émery curvature bounded below. This method transforms the problem of deriving differential Harnack inequalities into solving a related ODE system. As an application of this method, we obtain new and improved estimates for logarithmic-type equations and Yamabe-type equations. Moreover, under the non-negative Bakry-Émery curvature condition, we obtain complete sharp estimates for these equations. As a natural consequence of these results, we also establish sharp Harnack inequalities and Liouville-type theorems for these equations.
