Abstract:We give a construction of non-ordinary $p$-adic families of classes in the cohomology of locally symmetric spaces associated to spherical pairs of reductive groups. In the étale case, we show how to map these classes into Galois cohomology. The methods developed in this paper can be used to give new constructions of $p$-adic families of Euler systems and $p$-adic $L$-functions. As an example, we show how the constructions of this paper can be used to construct norm-compatible classes associated to non-ordinary Siegel modular forms, generalising $p$-part of the Lemma--Flach Euler system constructed by Loeffler--Skinner--Zerbes.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
This paper aims to solve the problem of constructing non - ordinary \(p\)-adic families related to spherical symmetric spaces. Specifically, the author Rob Rockwood proposes a construction method in the paper for generating non - ordinary \(p\)-adic families, and these classes are in the cohomology of local symmetric spaces of spherical symmetric group pairs. In the étale case, the author shows how to map these classes into Galois cohomology. Through this method, new examples of \(p\)-adic Euler systems and \(p\)-adic \(L\)-functions can be constructed, especially norm - compatible classes related to non - ordinary Siegel modular forms, which extends the \(p\)-part of the Lemma - Flach Euler system constructed by Loeffler - Skinner - Zerbes. The core contribution of the paper lies in providing a method for constructing \(p\)-adic families under the relaxed ordinarity assumption. The key to this method is to use large coefficient sheaves, which are composed of local analytic functions taking values in the space of rigid analytic functions. By constructing "over - convergent branching maps", the author shows how to apply the formalism in [Loe21] in the cohomology of these coefficient sheaves, thereby achieving the interpolation of families. This work not only provides new construction methods for existing Euler systems and \(p\)-adic \(L\)-functions, but also lays the foundation for constructing these objects in non - ordinary cases in the future.
