Abstract:In this proceeding, I summarize results on various new physics extensions of the Standard Model, for models with and without dark matter candidates. I discuss current constraints as well as rates and discovery prospects at future colliders.

Abstract:We study the implications of dark matter searches, together with collider constraints, on the phenomenological MSSM with neutralino dark matter and focus on the consequences of the related uncertainties in some detail. We consider, inter alia, the latest results from AMS-02, Fermi-LAT and XENON1T. In particular, we examine the impact of the choice of the dark matter halo profile, as well as the propagation model for cosmic rays, for dark matter indirect detection and show that the constraints on the MSSM differ by one to two orders of magnitude depending on the astrophysical hypotheses. On the other hand, our limited knowledge of the local relic density in the vicinity of the Earth and the velocity of Earth in the dark matter halo leads to a factor 3 in the exclusion limits obtained by direct detection experiments. We identified the astrophysical models leading to the most conservative and the most stringent constraints and for each case studied the complementarities with the latest LHC measurements and limits from Higgs, SUSY and monojet searches. We show that combining all data from dark matter searches and colliders, a large fraction of our supersymmetric sample could be probed. Whereas the direct detection constraints are rather robust under the astrophysical assumptions, the uncertainties related to indirect detection can have an important impact on the number of the excluded points.

Scalar extensions of the SM and recent experimental anomalies

Abstract:The Brout-Englert-Higgs mechanism describes the generation of masses of fundamental particles in the Standard Model (SM). It predicts the existence of one scalar particle with precisely predicted couplings to fermions and gauge bosons. Deviations from these predictions, such as the observation of additional scalar particles, would indicate non-minimal Higgs sectors and beyond-the-SM physics. We motivate extended scalar sectors based on theoretical and observational grounds and discuss their possible manifestations at colliders or gravitational-wave experiments. We explore smoking-gun signatures of electroweak baryogenesis at the LHC or a future $e^+e^-$ collider, and we examine their interplay with the observation of a primordial gravitational-wave background at LISA. We also consider the possibility of an additional Higgs boson at about 95 GeV motivated by excesses in diphoton and ditau final states observed by CMS. Finally, we discuss the impact of the CDF measurement of the $W$-boson mass on the parameter space of scalar extensions of the SM.

I concentrate on cases where at least one of the additional scalar has a mass below 125 GeV, and discuss both models where this could be realized, as well as studies which focus on such scenarios. Abstract:Abstract In this work, we investigate the collider constraints on effective interactions between Dark Matter (DM) particles and electroweak gauge bosons in a systematic way. We consider the simplified models in which scalar or Dirac fermion DM candidates only couple to electroweak gauge bosons through high dimensional effective operators. Taking into account the induced DM-quarks and DM-gluons operators from the Renormalization Group Evolution (RGE) running effect, we present comprehensive constraints on effective energy scale $\Lambda$ and Wilson coefficients $C_B(\Lambda),\,C_W(\Lambda)$ from direct detection, indirect detection, and collider searches. In particular, we present the corresponding sensitivity from the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC) and the Future Circular Collider in electron-proton mode (FCC-ep) for the first time, update the mono-$j$ and mono-$\gamma$ search limits at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), and derive the new limits at the Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC). Abstract:We present the results and prospects for searches beyond the Standard Model (SM) at the LHC by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations. The minimal supersymmetric extension of the SM has been investigated in various configurations and lower limits are set on the s-particle masses. The searches for other scenarios of physics beyond the SM are also presented and lower limits on the mass scale are derived in a large variety of models (new heavy gauge bosons, extra-dimensions, compositeness or dark matter). The prospects for physics using 300 /fb and 3000 /fb of data at the high luminosity LHC are also shown.

Abstract:We investigate the prospects of indirect and direct dark matter searches within the minimal supersymmetric standard model with nine parameters (MSSM-9). These nine parameters include three gaugino masses, Higgs, slepton and squark masses, all treated independently. We perform a Bayesian Monte Carlo scan of the parameter space taking into consideration all available particle physics constraints such as the Higgs mass of 126 GeV, upper limits on the scattering cross-section from direct-detection experiments, and assuming that the MSSM-9 provides all the dark matter abundance through thermal freeze-out mechanism. Within this framework we find two most probable regions for dark matter: 1-TeV higgsino-like and 3-TeV wino-like neutralinos. We discuss prospects for future indirect (in particular the Cherenkov Telescope Array, CTA) and direct detection experiments. We find that for slightly contracted dark matter profiles in our Galaxy, which can be caused by the effects of baryonic infall in the Galactic center, CTA will be able to probe a large fraction of the remaining allowed region in synergy with future direct detection experiments like XENON-1T.

Abstract:The status of the Standard Model (SM) is reviewed. We emphazize the fact that in spite of the success of the SM for the descrition of the fermionic sector, the status of the bosonic sector (gauge and scalar) suffers from many theoretical deficiencies and from the lack of empirical support. This situation, which leaves room for several types of extensions or alternatives to SM, strongly motivates the pursue of intense efforts for finding hints of New Physics (NP) effects. We present a phenomenological description valid for energies lying below the NP scale. We discuss the indirect constraints established from high precision tests at LEP1, as well as the direct tests that could be performed at future machines

Abstract:One of the main motivations for low energy supersymmetric theories is their ability to address the hierarchy and naturalness problems in the Higgs sector of the Standard Model. In these theories, at least two doublets of scalar fields are required to break the electroweak symmetry and to generate the masses of the elementary particles, resulting in a rather rich Higgs spectrum. The search for the Higgs bosons of Supersymmetry and the determination of their basic properties is one of the major goals of high--energy colliders and, in particular, the LHC which will soon start operation. We review the salient features of the Higgs sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model and of some of its extensions and summarize the prospects for probing them at the LHC and at the future ILC.

Abstract:Many new physics scenarios beyond the Standard Model (BSM) necessitate the existence of new neutral and/or charged scalar fields, which might couple to the SM charged leptons (but not hadrons), and thus, can give rise to BSM signals while evading strong constraints mostly coming from the hadronic sector. I show that future lepton colliders provide a clean environment to probe these leptophilic new scalars via multi-lepton final states, including some interesting lepton flavor violating (LFV) channels. I also study the kinematic distributions of the final state leptons to distinguish the BSM contributions from neutral and doubly-charged scalars giving rise to the same final state, as well as from the irreducible SM background.

Non-decoupling scalars at future colliders

Abstract:We consider a class of BSM models where a generic scalar electroweak multiplet obtains a significant fraction of its mass from a coupling to the Higgs. Such models are non-decoupling: their new states are necessarily at the TeV scale or below, they can significantly alter the electroweak phase transition, and they have a pattern of low energy effects that are distinct from those predicted by SMEFT. Using their minimal gauge and Higgs couplings, we show that a future precision lepton collider (such as FCC-ee, CEPC, ILC, or CLIC) can probe all the non-decoupling parameter space of scalar electroweak multiplets, providing fundamental information on the mechanism of electroweak symmetry breaking.

Abstract:Abelian dark sector scenarios embedded into the two-Higgs doublet model are scrutinized within the Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering (CE$\nu$NS) experiment, which was first measured by the COHERENT Collaboration in 2017 with an ongoing effort to improve it since then and recently released data for the CsI target in 2022. In the theoretical framework, it is assumed that there is a $U(1)$ gauge group in the dark sector with a non-zero kinetic mixing with the hypercharge field. The COHERENT data for the targets CsI and liquid argon (LAr) are treated in both single and multi bin bases to constrain the multi dimensional parameter space, spanned by the dark gauge coupling, kinetic mixing parameter and the dark photon mass, of totally seven different representative scenarios which are also compared and contrasted among each other to find out about the most sensitive one to the data. The effect of refined quenching factor is also addressed.

The see-saw portal at future Higgs Factories

Abstract:We consider an extension of the Standard Model with two right-handed singlet fermions with mass at the electroweak scale that induce neutrino masses, plus a generic new physics sector at a higher scale $\Lambda$. We focus on the effective operators of lowest dimension $d=5$, which induce new production and decay modes for the singlet fermions. We assess the sensitivity of future Higgs Factories, such as FCC-ee, CLIC-380, ILC and CEPC, to the coefficients of these operators for various center of mass energies. We show that future lepton colliders can test the cut-off of the theory up to $\Lambda \simeq 500 - 1000\;$TeV, surpassing the reach of future indirect measurements of the Higgs and $Z$ boson widths. We also comment on the possibility of determining the underlying model flavor structure should a New Physics signal be observed, and on the impact of higher dimensional $d=6$ operators on the experimental signatures.

Constraining Light Scalar Field with Torsion-Balance Gravity Experiments

Abstract:The light scalar field with a coupling to standard model particles provide a possible source of the dark matter, long-range Yukawa forces or violation of the weak equivalence principle, which can be potentially explored by precision gravity experiments. We describe the searches for such light scalar fields with the three types of gravity experiments, including the $G$-measurement experiments, Inverse-Square Law (ISL) experiments, and equivalence principle experiments. We investigate the potential influences of the scalar field as a function of its mass, and focus on the experimental constraints from torsion-balance gravity experiments. HUST-18 $G$-measurement torsion-balance experiments place bounds on the photon coupling and electron coupling at up to $\Lambda_{\gamma}=7\times10^{17}$ GeV and $\Lambda_{e}=1\times10^{17}$ GeV in the mass ranges $10^{-9}-10^{-4}$ eV. Results from the ISL experiments by the Universities of Washington, Stanford, IUPUI, HUST, Colorado, Irvine, Yale and others allow us to set limits on the photon coupling and electron coupling at up to $\Lambda_{\gamma}=5\times10^{17}$ GeV and $\Lambda_{e}=3\times10^{16}$ GeV for scalar field mass ranges between $10^{-5}$ and $10^{-1}$ eV. Additionally, we also discuss the limits from equivalence principle experiments, and $MICROSCOPE$ final result updates the constrains on the coupling parameters at up to $\Lambda_{\gamma}=7\times10^{22}$ GeV and $\Lambda_{e}=4\times10^{21}$ GeV for mass ranges $\lesssim 10^{-13}$ eV. These results contribute experimental constraints to relatively unexplored mass regions of {light scalar field} parameter space and improve upon previous limits in some mass ranges. This work paves the way for long-range Yukawa forces mediated by light scalar fields in future high-precision gravity experiments.

Abstract:The recent observation of three events by the CDMS II experiment can be interpreted as a 8.6 GeV dark matter scatters elastically with the nucleons inside the silicon detectors with a spin-independent cross section of 1.9 x 10^-41 cm^2. We employ the effective dark matter interaction approach to fit to the interpreted cross section, and make predictions for monojet and monophoton production at the LHC with the fitted parameters. We show that some of the operators are already ruled out by current data while the others can be further probed in the upcoming 14 TeV run of the LHC.
Collider and astrophysical signatures of light scalars with enhanced $τ$ couplings

Abstract:Beyond Standard Model scenarios addressing the flavor puzzle and the hierarchy problem generally predict dominant new physics couplings with fermions of the third generation. In this Letter, we explore the collider and astrophysical signatures of new light scalar and pseudoscalar particles dominantly coupled to the $\tau$-lepton. The best experimental prospects are expected at Belle II through the $e^+e^-\to\tau^+\tau^-\gamma\gamma$, $\tau^+\tau^-\gamma$, $3\gamma$, mono-$\gamma$ processes, and the $\tau$ anomalous magnetic moment. The correlated effects in these searches can unambiguously point toward the underlying new physics dynamics. Moreover, we study astrophysics bounds - especially from core-collapse supernovae and neutron star mergers - finding them particularly effective and complementary to collider bounds. We carry out this program in the well-motivated context of axion-like particles as well as generic CP-even and CP-odd particles, highlighting possible ways to discriminate among them.

Abstract:Scalars and pseudoscalars with masses in the MeV to GeV range are of interest in different extensions of the Standard Model. Such particles are often associated with dark matter, the strong CP problem and the $\left(g-2\right)_{\mu}$ anomaly. In this work we investigate limits for masses of such particles and their couplings to photons and leptons which can be derived from present and currently operating $e^+e^-$ collider experiments and recent $\left(g-2\right)_{l}$ measurements. Our work expands upon previous studies in several ways, demonstrating that the interplay of both couplings is a decisive factor in this type of analyses.

Abstract:A bstract We study a dark matter model constructed by extending the standard model with an inert SU(2) L sextuplet scalar of hypercharge 1/2. The sextuplet components are split by the quartic couplings between the sextuplet and the Higgs doublet after electroweak symmetry breaking, resulting in a dark sector with one triply charged, two doubly charged, two singly charged, and two neutral scalars. The lighter neutral scalar boson acts as a dark matter particle. We investigate the constraints on this model from the monojet + "Image missing" and soft-dilepton + jets + "Image missing" searches at the 13 TeV Large Hadron Collider, as well as from the current electroweak precision test. Furthermore, we estimate the projected sensitivities of a 100 TeV pp collider and of a future e + e − collider, and find that such future projects could probe TeV mass scales. Nonetheless, such mass scales only correspond to a subdominant component of the observed relic abundance if the dark matter particles solely originate from thermal production.
