Abstract:In this paper, we show the strong well-posedness of Mckean-Vlasov SDEs with non-Lipschitz coefficients. Moreover, propagation of chaos and the convergence rate for Euler's scheme of Mckean-Vlasov SDEs are also obtained.

Moreover, the propagation of chaos and the convergence rate for Euler's scheme of jump-type McKean-Vlasov SDEs are also obtained by taking advantage of Yamada-Watanabe's approximation approach and stopping time.

Abstract:In this paper, our work is devoted to studying Volterra type McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations with singular kernels. Firstly, the well-posedness of Volterra type McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations are established. And then propagation of chaos is proved with explicit estimate of the convergence rate. Finally, We also propose an explicit Euler scheme for an interacting particle system associated with the Volterra type McKean-Vlasov equation.

Abstract:This paper develops strong convergence of the Euler-Maruyama (EM) schemes for approximating McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations (SDEs). In contrast to the existing work, a novel feature is the use of a much weaker condition-local Lipschitzian in the state variable, but under uniform linear growth assumption. To obtain the desired approximation, the paper first establishes the existence and uniqueness of solutions of the original McKean-Vlasov SDE using a Euler-like sequence of interpolations and partition of the sample space. Then, the paper returns to the analysis of the EM scheme for approximating solutions of McKean-Vlasov SDEs. A strong convergence theorem is established. Moreover, the convergence rates under global conditions are obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a type of stochastic McKean–Vlasov equations with non-Lipschitz coefficients. Firstly, by an Euler–Maruyama approximation the existence of its weak solutions is proved. Then we observe the pathwise uniqueness of its weak solutions. Finally, it is shown that the Euler–Maruyama approximation has an optimal strong convergence rate.

Abstract:In this paper, we develop strong convergence of the Euler–Maruyama (EM) scheme for approximating the doubly perturbed McKean–Vlasov stochastic differential equations. In contrast to the existing work, a novel feature is that we use more general conditions for parameters α and β . To obtain the desired approximation, this paper also proves the existence and uniqueness of strong solution for this class of McKean–Vlasov SDEs. Combining with the results of propagation of chaos, the overall convergence rate is obtained for the EM scheme. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to demonstrate our results.

Abstract:We study a class of McKean--Vlasov Stochastic Differential Equations (MV-SDEs) with drifts and diffusions having super-linear growth in measure and space -- the maps have general polynomial form but also satisfy a certain monotonicity condition. The combination of the drift's super-linear growth in measure (by way of a convolution) and the super-linear growth in space and measure of the diffusion coefficient require novel technical elements in order to obtain the main results. We establish wellposedness, propagation of chaos (PoC), and under further assumptions on the model parameters we show an exponential ergodicity property alongside the existence of an invariant distribution. No differentiability or non-degeneracy conditions are required. Further, we present a particle system based Euler-type split-step scheme (SSM) for the simulation of this type of MV-SDEs. The scheme attains, in stepsize, the strong error rate $1/2$ in the non-path-space root-mean-square error metric and we demonstrate the property of mean-square contraction. Our results are illustrated by numerical examples including: estimation of PoC rates across dimensions, preservation of periodic phase-space, and the observation that taming appears to be not a suitable method unless strong dissipativity is present.

Stability of the numerical scheme for stochastic McKean-Vlasov equations

Abstract:This paper studies the infinite-time stability of the numerical scheme for stochastic McKean-Vlasov equations (SMVEs) via stochastic particle method. The long-time propagation of chaos in mean-square sense is obtained, with which the almost sure propagation in infinite horizon is proved by exploiting the Chebyshev inequality and the Borel-Cantelli lemma. Then the mean-square and almost sure exponential stabilities of the Euler-Maruyama scheme associated with the corresponding interacting particle system are shown through an ingenious manipulation of empirical measure. Combining the assertions enables the numerical solutions to reproduce the stabilities of the original SMVEs. The examples are demonstrated to reveal the importance of this study.

Abstract:In this paper, we study weak well-posedness of a McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations (SDEs) whose drift is density-dependent and whose diffusion is constant. The existence part is due to Hölder stability estimates of the associated Euler-Maruyama scheme. The uniqueness part is due to that of the associated Fokker-Planck equation. We also obtain convergence rate in weighted $L^1$ norm for the Euler-Maruyama scheme.

Abstract:By a semi-discrete tamed Euler approximation as a bridge, this paper examines the tamed Euler scheme for the Mckean-Vlasov stochastic dif-ferential equations (SDEs) and obtains the convergence rate under the one-sided Lipschitz condition for the drift coefficient. Under the local Lipschitz condition for the drift coefficient, the strong convergence of the tamed scheme is also examined. When the coefficients satisfy the Lipschitz condition, this paper also obtains the asymptotic error distribution.

Abstract:Recently, explicit tamed schemes were proposed to approximate the SDEs with the non-Lipschitz continuous coefficients. This work proposes a semi-tamed Euler scheme, which is also explicit, to solve the SDEs with the drift coefficient equipped with the Lipschitz continuous part and non-Lipschitz continuous part. It is shown that the semi-tamed Euler converges strongly with the standard order one-half to the exact solution of the SDE. We also investigate the stability inheritance of the semi-tamed Euler schemes and reveal that this scheme does have advantage in reproducing the exponential mean square stability of the exact solution. Numerical experiments confirm the theoretical analysis.

Abstract:SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, Volume 56, Issue 2, Page 2661-2713, April 2024. In this work we show the strong convergence of propagation of chaos for the particle approximation of McKean-Vlasov SDEs with singular [math]-interactions as well as for the moderate interaction particle systems on the level of particle trajectories. One of the main obstacles is to establish the strong well-posedness of the SDEs for particle systems with singular interaction. To this end, we extend the results on strong well-posedness of Krylov and Röckner [Probab. Theory Related Fields, 131 (2005), pp. 154–196] to the case of mixed [math]-drifts, where the heat kernel estimates play a crucial role. Moreover, when the interaction kernel is bounded measurable, we also obtain the optimal rate of strong convergence, which is partially based on Jabin and Wang's entropy method [P.-E. Jabin and Z. Wang, J. Funct. Anal., 271 (2016), pp. 3588–3627] and Zvonkin's transformation.

More precisely, propagation of chaos and convergence rate of Euler–Maruyama scheme associated with the consequent weakly interacting particle systems are investigated for McKean–Vlasov SDEs, where (1) the diffusion terms are Hölder continuous by taking advantage of Yamada–Watanabe’s approximation approach and (2) the drifts are Hölder continuous by freezing distributions followed by invoking Zvonkin’s transformation trick.

Abstract:In this paper we mainly investigate the strong and weak well-posedness of a class of McKean-Vlasov stochastic (partial) differential equations. The main existence and uniqueness results state that we only need to impose some local assumptions on the coefficients, i.e. locally monotone condition both in state variable and distribution variable, which cause some essential difficulty since the coefficients of McKean-Vlasov stochastic equations typically are nonlocal. Furthermore, the large deviation principle is also derived for the McKean-Vlasov stochastic equations under those weak assumptions. The wide applications of main results are illustrated by various concrete examples such as the granular media equations, plasma type models, kinetic equations, McKean-Vlasov type porous media equations and Navier-Stokes equations. In particular, we could remove or relax some typical assumptions previously imposed on those models.

Compound Poisson particle approximation for McKean-Vlasov SDEs

Abstract:We present a comprehensive discretization scheme for linear and nonlinear stochastic differential equations (SDEs) driven by either Brownian motions or $\alpha$-stable processes. Our approach utilizes compound Poisson particle approximations, allowing for simultaneous discretization of both the time and space variables in McKean-Vlasov SDEs. Notably, the approximation processes can be represented as a Markov chain with values on a lattice. Importantly, we demonstrate the propagation of chaos under relatively mild assumptions on the coefficients, including those with polynomial growth. This result establishes the convergence of the particle approximations towards the true solutions of the McKean-Vlasov SDEs. By only imposing moment conditions on the intensity measure of compound Poisson processes, our approximation exhibits universality. In the case of ordinary differential equations (ODEs), we investigate scenarios where the drift term satisfies the one-sided Lipschitz assumption. We prove the optimal convergence rate for Filippov solutions in this setting. Additionally, we establish a functional central limit theorem (CLT) for the approximation of ODEs and show the convergence of invariant measures for linear SDEs. As a practical application, we construct a compound Poisson approximation for 2D-Navier Stokes equations on the torus and demonstrate the optimal convergence rate.

Abstract:In this paper, our main aim is to investigate the strong convergence for a neutral McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equation with super-linear delay driven by fractional Brownian motion with Hurst exponent $H\in(1/2, 1)$. After giving uniqueness and existence for the exact solution, we analyze the properties including boundedness of moment and propagation of chaos. Besides, we give the Euler-Maruyama (EM) scheme and show that the numerical solution converges strongly to the exact solution. Furthermore, a corresponding numerical example is given to illustrate the theory.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the numerical scheme of highly nonlinear neutral multiple-delay stohchastic McKean-Vlasov equation (NMSMVE) by virtue of the stochastic particle method. First, under general assumptions, the results about propagation of chaos in $\mathcal{L}^p$ sense are shown. Then the tamed Euler-Maruyama scheme to the corresponding particle system is established and the convergence rate in $\mathcal{L}^p$ sense is obtained. Furthermore, combining these two results gives the convergence error between the objective NMSMVE and numerical approximation, which is related to the particle number and step size. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to support the finding.

Explicit numerical approximations for McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations in finite and infinite time

Abstract:By using the stochastic particle method, the truncated Euler-Maruyama (TEM) method is proposed for numerically solving McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations (MV-SDEs), possibly with both drift and diffusion coefficients having super-linear growth in the state variable. Firstly, the result of the propagation of chaos in the L^q (q\geq 2) sense is obtained under general assumptions. Then, the standard 1/2-order strong convergence rate in the L^q sense of the proposed method corresponding to the particle system is derived by utilizing the stopping time analysis technique. Furthermore, long-time dynamical properties of MV-SDEs, including the moment boundedness, stability, and the existence and uniqueness of the invariant probability measure, can be numerically realized by the TEM method. Additionally, it is proven that the numerical invariant measure converges to the underlying one of MV-SDEs in the L^2-Wasserstein metric. Finally, the conclusions obtained in this paper are verified through examples and numerical simulations.

A note on Lévy-driven McKean-Vlasov SDEs under monotonicity

Abstract:In this note, under a weak monotonicity and a weak coercivity, we address strong well-posedness of McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equations (SDEs) driven by Lévy jump processes, where the coefficients are Lipschitz continuous (with respect to the measure variable) under the $L^\beta$-Wasserstein distance for $\beta\in[1,2].$ Moreover, the issue on the weak propagation of chaos (i.e., convergence in distribution via the convergence of the empirical measure) and the strong propagation of chaos (i.e., at the level paths by coupling) is explored simultaneously. To treat the strong well-posedness of McKean-Vlasov SDEs we are interested in, we investigate strong well-posedness of classical time-inhomogeneous SDEs with jumps under a local weak monotonicity and a global weak coercivity. Such a result is of independent interest, and, most importantly, can provide an available reference on strong well-posedness of Lévy-driven SDEs under the monotone condition, which nevertheless is missing for a long time. Based on the theory derived, along with the interlacing technique and the Banach fixed point theorem, the strong well-posedness of McKean-Vlasov SDEs driven by Lévy jump processes can be established. Additionally, as a potential extension, strong well-posedness and conditional propagation of chaos are treated for Lévy-driven McKean-Vlasov SDEs with common noise under a weak monotonicity.

Abstract:In this paper we consider the stability for a type of stochastic McKean-Vlasov equation with non-Lipschitz coefficients. First, sufficient conditions are given for the exponential stability of second moments for their solutions in terms of a Lyapunov function. Then we weaken the conditions and furthermore obtain the exponentially 2-ultimate boundedness of their solutions. After this, the almost surely asymptotic stability of their solutions is proved. Finally we give an example to motivate the choice of Lyapunov functions.
