Abstract:Using combinatorial properties of symmetric polynomials, we compute explicitly the Soergel modules for some permutations whose corresponding Schubert varieties are rationally smooth. We build from them diagram algebras whose module categories are equivalent to the subquotient categories of the BGG category $\mathcal{O}(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$ which show up in categorification of $\mathfrak{gl}(1|1)$-representations. We construct diagrammatically the graded cellular structure and the properly stratified structure of these algebras.

Abstract:The Hecke algebras for all symmetric groups taken together form a braided monoidal category that controls all quantum link invariants of type A and, by extension, the standard canon of topological quantum field theories in dimension 3 and 4. Here we provide the first categorification of this Hecke braided monoidal category, which takes the form of an $\mathbb{E}_2$-monoidal $(\infty,2)$-category whose hom-$(\infty,1)$-categories are $k$-linear, stable, idempotent-complete, and equipped with $\mathbb{Z}$-actions. This categorification is designed to control homotopy-coherent link homology theories and to-be-constructed topological quantum field theories in dimension 4 and 5.

Abstract:There is an action of $\mathbb{Z}/2$ on the category of Soergel Bimodules of type $A_1 \times A_1$ induced by the nontrivial automorphism of its Dynkin diagram. We give an isotopy presentation by local generators and relations of the equivariantization of the category of Soergel Bimodules of type $A_1 \times A_1$ under this action. This is the first step in a program to describe and study the categories of equivariant Soergel Bimodules.

Abstract:We study moduli spaces of objects in the derived category of noncommutative ruled surfaces over orbifold curves to find equivariant deformations of moduli spaces of framed sheaves on equivariant elliptic surfaces. These derived categories are a common generalization of the category of modules of the preprojective algebra and of the category of twisted D-modules over a curve. We show that the birational geometry of the Hilbert scheme of points on an equivariant elliptic surface is controlled by an elliptic root system, and conjecture in general and prove in special cases that moduli spaces of objects in these derived categories provides a deformation of birational models for the Hilbert scheme. We also study the applications of this deformation to the geometric representation theory of the central fiber, specifically to produce geometric correspondences giving rise to Lie algebra actions on the equivariant cohomology of the central fiber and give formulas for the action of the Namikawa-Markman Weyl group of monodromy reflections in terms of this Lie algebra.

Braiding on complex oriented Soergel bimodules

Abstract:In this note, we study U(n) Soergel bimodules in the context of stable homotopy theory. We define the $(\infty, 1)$-category $\mathrm{SBim}_E(n)$ of $E$-valued U(n) Soergel bimodules, where $E$ is a connective $\mathbb{E}_\infty$-ring spectrum, and assemble them into a monoidal locally additive $(\infty, 2)$-category $\mathrm{SBim}_E$. When $E$ has a complex orientation, we then construct a braiding, i.e. an $\mathbb{E}_2$-algebra structure, on the universal locally stable $(\infty, 2)$-category $\mathrm{K}^b_{\mathrm{loc}}(\mathrm{SBim}_E)$ associated to $\mathrm{SBim}_E$. Along the way, we also prove spectral analogs of standard splittings of Soergel bimodules. This is a topological generalization of the type $A$ Soergel bimodule theory developed in a previous paper.

Abstract:Rig categories with finite biproducts are categories with two monoidal products, where one is a biproduct and the other distributes over it. In this work we present tape diagrams, a sound and complete diagrammatic language for these categories, that can be intuitively thought as string diagrams of string diagrams. We test the effectiveness of our approach against the positive fragment of Tarski's calculus of relations.

Abstract:In this paper, we use Soergel calculus to define a monoidal functor, called the evaluation functor, from extended affine type A Soergel bimodules to the homotopy category of bounded complexes in finite type A Soergel bimodules. This functor categorifies the well-known evaluation homomorphism from the extended affine type A Hecke algebra to the finite type A Hecke algebra. Through it, one can pull back the triangulated birepresentation induced by any finitary birepresentation of finite type A Soergel bimodules to obtain a triangulated birepresentation of extended affine type A Soergel bimodules. We show that if the initial finitary birepresentation in finite type A is a cell birepresentation, the evaluation birepresentation in extended affine type A has a finitary cover, which we illustrate by working out the case of cell birepresentations with subregular apex in detail.

dg-Hecke duality and tensor products

Abstract:We continue our study of the monoidal category $D(G)$. At the level of cohomology we transfer the duality functor to the derived category of Hecke dg-modules. In the process we develop a more general and streamlined approach to the anti-involution first defined by Ollivier and Schneider. We also verify that the tensor product on $D(G)$ corresponds to an operadic tensor product on the dg-side. This uses a result of Schnürer on dg-categories with a model structure.

Geometric realisations of the unipotent enveloping algebra of a quiver

Abstract:We compare and generalise the various geometric constructions (due to Ringel, Lusztig, Schofield, Bozec, Davison...) of the unipotent generalised Kac-Moody algebra associated with an arbitrary quiver. These constructions are interconnected through several geometric operations, including the stalk Euler characteristic of constructible complexes, the characteristic cycle, the Euler obstruction map, and the intersection multiplicities of Lagrangian subvarieties. We provide a proof that these geometric realisations hold for the integral form of the Lie algebra. Furthermore, by modifying the generators of the enveloping algebra, we ensure compatibility with the natural coproducts that can be defined in terms of restriction diagrams. As a result, we establish that the top cohomological Hall algebra of the strictly seminilpotent stack is isomorphic to the positive part of the enveloping algebra of the generalised Kac-Moody algebra associated with the quiver. This appears to be one of the cornerstones needed to describe the BPS algebra of very general $2$-Calabi-Yau categories, which is the subject of the author's work on BPS Lie algebras for $2$-Calabi-Yau categories with Davison and Schlegel Mejia.

Abstract:The Soergel category B of a Coxeter system (W,S) is a bimodule category over a polynomial algebra on which W acts. It's a categorification of the Hecke Algebra of (W,S). In this article we give a combinatorial description of morphism spaces in B. As a corollary, we give an analogous description of the morphisms in O_0-proj, where O_0 is the principal block of the BGG category O. ----- La catégorie B de Soergel d'un système de Coxeter (W,S) est une catégorie de bimodules sur une algèbre de polynômes sur laquelle W agit. C'est une catégorification de l'algèbre de Hecke de (W,S). Dans cet article nous donnons une description combinatoire des espaces de morphismes dans B. Abstract:We initiate the study of K ‐theory Soergel bimodules, a global and K ‐theoretic version of Soergel bimodules. We show that morphisms of K ‐theory Soergel bimodules can be described geometrically in terms of equivariant K ‐theoretic correspondences between Bott–Samelson varieties. We thereby obtain a natural categorification of K ‐theory Soergel bimodules in terms of equivariant coherent sheaves. We introduce a formalism of stratified equivariant K ‐motives on varieties with an affine stratification, which is a K ‐theoretic analog of the equivariant derived category of Bernstein–Lunts. We show that Bruhat‐stratified torus‐equivariant K ‐motives on flag varieties can be described in terms of chain complexes of K ‐theory Soergel bimodules. Moreover, we propose conjectures regarding an equivariant/monodromic Koszul duality for flag varieties and the quantum K ‐theoretic Satake.

Geometric categorifications of Verma modules: Grassmannian Quiver Hecke algebras

Abstract:Naisse and Vaz defined an extension of KLR algebras to categorify Verma modules. We realise these algebras geometrically as convolution algebras in Borel-Moore homology. For this we introduce Grassmannian-Steinberg quiver flag varieties. They generalize Steinberg quiver flag varieties in a non-obvious way, reflecting the diagrammatics from the Naisse-Vaz construction. Using different kind of stratifications we provide geometric explanations of the rather mysterious algebraic and diagrammatic basis theorems. A geometric categorification of Verma modules was recently found in the special case of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ by Rouquier. Rouquier's construction uses coherent sheaves on certain quasi-map spaces to flag varieties (zastavas), whereas our construction is implicitly based on perverse sheaves. Both should be seen as parts (on dual sides) of a general geometric framework for the Naisse-Vaz approach. We first treat the (substantially easier) $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ case in detail and construct as a byproduct a geometric dg-model of the nil-Hecke algebras. The extra difficulties we encounter in general require the use of more complicated Grassmannian-Steinberg quiver flag varieties. Their definition arises from combinatorially defined diagram varieties which we assign to each Naisse-Vaz basis diagram. Our explicit analysis here might shed some light on categories of coherent sheaves on more general zastava spaces studied by Feigin-Finkelberg-Kuznetsov-Mirković and Braverman, which we expect to occur in a generalization of Rouquier's construction away from $\mathfrak{sl}_2$.

Counting in Calabi--Yau categories, with applications to Hall algebras and knot polynomials

Abstract:We show that homotopy cardinality -- a priori ill-defined for many dg-categories, including all periodic ones -- has a reasonable definition for even-dimensional Calabi--Yau (evenCY) categories and their relative generalizations (under appropriate finiteness conditions). As a first application we solve the problem of defining an intrinsic Hall algebra for degreewise finite pre-triangulated dg-categories in the case of oddCY categories. We compare this definition with Toën's derived Hall algebras (in case they are well-defined) and with other approaches based on extended Hall algebras and central reduction, including a construction of Hall algebras associated with Calabi--Yau triples of triangulated categories. For a category equivalent to the root category of a 1CY abelian category $\mathcal A$, the algebra is shown to be isomorphic to the Drinfeld double of the twisted Ringel--Hall algebra of $\mathcal A$, thus resolving in the Calabi--Yau case the long-standing problem of realizing the latter as a Hall algebra intrinsically defined for such a triangulated category. Our second application is the proof of a conjecture of Ng--Rutherford--Shende--Sivek, which provides an intrinsic formula for the ruling polynomial of a Legendrian knot $L$, and its generalization to Legendrian tangles, in terms of the augmentation category of $L$.

Abstract:Around the year 1988, Joyal and Street established a graphical calculus for monoidal categories, which provides a firm foundation for many explorations of graphical notations in mathematics and physics. For a deeper understanding of their work, we consider a similar graphical calculus for semi-groupal categories. We introduce two frameworks to formalize this graphical calculus, a topological one based on the notion of a processive plane graph and a combinatorial one based on the notion of a planarly ordered processive graph, which serves as a combinatorial counterpart of a deformation class of processive plane graphs. We demonstrate the equivalence of Joyal and Street's graphical calculus and the theory of upward planar drawings. We introduce the category of semi-tensor schemes, and give a construction of a free monoidal category on a semi-tensor scheme. We deduce the unit convention as a kind of quotient construction, and show an idea to generalize the unit convention. Finally, we clarify the relation of the unit convention and Joyal and Street's construction of a free monoidal category on a tensor scheme.
Derived categories of Quot schemes on smooth curves and tautological bundles

Abstract:We define a categorical action of the shifted quantum loop group of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ on the derived categories of Quot schemes of finite length quotient sheaves on a smooth projective curve. As an application, we obtain a semi-orthogonal decomposition of the derived categories of Quot schemes, of representation theoretic origin. We use this decomposition to calculate the cohomology of interesting tautological vector bundles over the Quot scheme.
