Unearthed Bamboo-silk Literatures and New Vision of the World of Ancient Thoughts

Abstract:It is a increasingly urgent task that how to grasp the influence which unearthed literatures bring to the understanding of ancient Chinese philosophy and thoughts from a relative monolithic position based on the micro-study of bamboo-silk literatures about the history of philosophy and thoughts.On the other hand,the construction of a relative monolithic vision is also contributed to the comprehension of problems at micro-scale.In general,bamboo books"The Great One Giving Birth to the Waters"of Guodian,"Hengxian"and"Forming of the Myriad Things"of Shanghai museum,etc.,are all involved with a fresh mode of generating of the cosmos,which provokes a new understanding of ancient theory of the generation of cosmos.It is presented in"The Great Drought in the State of Lu","Enlightenment of Ghosts and Divine Spirits"and"Three Virtues"that,with the development of humanism thoughts and increasing importance of human behavior in Zhou and Qin Dynasties,religious faith and rites of sacrifices in old-time is weaken and performed in different forms.It could be designated that thinkers in Zhou and Qin Dynasties want to construct ways and processes of life under virtue ethics by ideas of"inner and external","body and mind/heart",and "heaven and human",etc.,according to literatures of Guodian,such as"Human Nature Comes from Orders of Heaven","Five Processes","Good or Bad Fortune Depends on Circumstances",etc.Some new thoughts about public reason and institutions or systems are appeared in silk book"Four Classics of Huangdi"of Mawangdui,bamboo book in"How to Be an Official"of Shuihudi,bamboo book"The Way of Tang and Yu"of Guodian,and bamboo book"Do Politics"of Shanghai museum,etc.It is illustrated by these that the early ancient world of thoughts is larger and more complicated than present knowledge.
