Abstract:The objective of the current study was to determine the capability of 3 recently described one-step TaqMan real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (real-time RT-PCR) assays targeting the nucleoprotein (NP), matrix (M), and hemagglutinin (HA) genes of H3N8 Equine influenza virus (EIV NP, EIV M, and EIV HA3 assays, respectively) to detect Canine influenza virus (CIV). The assays were initially evaluated with nucleic acid extracted from tissue culture fluid (TCF) containing the A/canine/FL/43/04 strain of Influenza A virus associated with the 2004 canine influenza outbreak in Florida. The EIV NP, EIV M, and EIV HA3 assays could detect CIV nucleic acid at threshold cycle (Ct) values of 16.31, 23.71, and 15.28, respectively. Three assays using TCF or allantoic fluid (AF) samples containing CIV ( n = 13) and archived canine nasal swab samples ( n = 20) originally submitted for laboratory diagnosis of CIV were further evaluated. All TCF and AF samples, together with 10 nasal swab samples that previously tested positive for virus by attempted isolation in embryonated hens' eggs or Madin–Darby canine kidney cells, were positive in all 3 real-time RT-PCR assays. None of the 3 assays detected the H1N1 Swine influenza virus strain in current circulation. These findings demonstrate that previously described real-time RT-PCR assays targeting NP, M, and H3 HA gene segments of H3N8 EIV are also valuable for the diagnosis of CIV infection in dogs. The assays could expedite the detection and identification of CIV.

Abstract:Sustained transmission of canine Influenza A virus (CIV) H3N8 among U.S. dogs underscores the threat influenza continues to pose to canine health. Because rapid and accurate detection of infection is critical to the diagnosis and control of CIV, the 2 main objectives of the current study were to estimate and compare the sensitivities of CIV testing methods on canine swab samples and to evaluate the performance of Flu DetectTM (Synbiotics Corp., Kansas City, MO) for detecting CIV nasal shedding in high-risk shelter dogs. To address the first objective, nasal and pharyngeal swab samples were collected from 124 shelter and household dogs seen by Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital clinicians for canine infectious respiratory disease between April 2006 and March 2007 and tested for CIV shedding using virus isolation, the rapid influenza diagnostic test Directigen Flu A+BTM (BD Diagnostic Systems, Sparks, MD), and real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). For the second objective, 1,372 dogs with unknown respiratory health status were sampled from 6 U.S. shelters from December 2009 to November 2010. Samples were tested for presence of CIV using real-time RT-PCR and Flu Detect. Using a stochastic latent class modeling approach, the median sensitivities of virus isolation, rapid influenza diagnostic test, and real-time RT-PCR were 72%, 65%, and 95%, respectively. The Flu Detect test performed poorly for detecting CIV nasal shedding compared to real-time RT-PCR. In conclusion, the real-time RT-PCR has the highest sensitivity for detecting virus nasal shedding and can be used as a rapid diagnostic test for CIV.

Abstract:The novel influenza A(H1N1) virus that emerged recently in Mexico has spread rapidly to many countries and initiated a human pandemic. It would be interesting to determine whether the virus has existed in, or will spread to, the swine population. However, it is difficult to differentiate the virus from some swine influenza viruses. In this study, a SYBR Green I real-time RT-PCR assay was designed for detection and differentiation of influenza A(H1N1) virus from some swine influenza viruses, by comparing the amplification of two pairs of primers corresponding to influenza A(H1N1) virus and some swine influenza viruses, respectively. The assay was evaluated using online analysis, identified influenza viruses and clinical samples. The results indicated that the assay has high sensitivity and specificity to detect influenza A(H1N1) virus, and is able to differentiate it from some swine influenza viruses. This, in turn, could provide essential epidemiological information for risk analysis and decision making in combating the disease, and stimulate research to differentiate pathogens similar to each other using the same method.
A Multiplex RT-PCR Assay for Detection and Differentiation of Avian-Origin Canine H3N2, Equine-Origin H3N8, Human-Origin H3N2, and H1N1/2009 Canine Influenza Viruses

Abstract:Virological and serological surveys have documented that H1N1/2009, avian-origin canine H3N2 (cH3N2), seasonal human-origin H3N2 (hH3N2), and equine-origin H3N8 influenza viruses are consistently circulating in dogs. In the present study, a multiplex reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (mRT-PCR) assay was developed for simultaneous detection and differentiation of these influenza viruses. Four primer sets were designed to target the hemagglutinin genes of H1N1/2009, cH3N2, hH3N2, and H3N8 canine influenza viruses (CIVs). This mRT-PCR assay demonstrated high specificity and sensitivity for the four CIV subtypes. Additionally, mRT-PCR results obtained from 420 clinical samples were consistent with those obtained by the conventional virus isolation method. Our mRT-PCR assay is reliable for clinical diagnosis and rapid identification of CIVs.

Rapid detection of equine influenza virus H3N8 subtype by insulated isothermal RT-PCR (iiRT-PCR) assay using the POCKIT™ Nucleic Acid Analyzer

Abstract:Equine influenza (EI) is an acute, highly contagious viral respiratory disease of equids. Currently, equine influenza virus (EIV) subtype H3N8 continues to be the most important respiratory pathogen of horses in many countries around the world. The need to achieve a rapid diagnosis and to implement effective quarantine and movement restrictions is critical in controlling the spread of EIV. In this study, a novel, inexpensive and user-friendly assay based on an insulated isothermal RT-PCR (iiRT-PCR) method on the POCKIT™, a field-deployable device, was described and validated for point-of-need detection of EIV-H3N8 in clinical samples. The newly established iiRT-PCR assay targeting the EIV HA3 gene was evaluated for its sensitivity using in vitro transcribed (IVT) RNA, as well as ten-fold serial dilutions of RNA extracted from the prototype H3N8 strain A/equine/Miami/1/63. Inclusivity and exclusivity panels were tested for specificity evaluation. Published real-time RT-PCR (rRT-PCR) assays targeting the NP and HA3 genes were used as the reference standards for comparison of RNA extracted from field strains and from nasal swab samples collected from experimentally infected horses, respectively. Limit of detection with a 95% probability (LoD95%) was estimated to be 11copies of IVT RNA. Clinical sensitivity analysis using RNA prepared from serial dilutions of a prototype EIV (Miami 1/63/H3N8) showed that the iiRT-PCR assay was about 100-fold more sensitive than the rRT-PCR assay targeting the NP gene of EIV subtype H3N8. The iiRT-PCR assay identified accurately fifteen EIV H3N8 strains and two canine influenza virus (CIV) H3N8 strains, and did not cross-react with H6N2, H7N7, H1N1 subtypes or any other equine respiratory viral pathogens. Finally, 100% agreement was found between the iiRT-PCR assay and the universal influenza virus type A rRT-PCR assay in detecting the EIV A/equine/Kentucky/7/07 strain in 56 nasal swab samples collected from experimentally inoculated horses. Therefore, the EIV H3N8 subtype specific iiRT-PCR assay along with the portable POCKIT™ Nucleic Acid Analyzer provides a highly reliable, sensitive and specific on-site detection system of both equine and canine influenza viruses.

Abstract:Introduction:Influenza A viruses (IAVs) are important pathogens of respiratory infections, causing not only seasonal influenza but also influenza pandemics and posing a global threat to public health. IAVs infection spreads rapidly, widely, and across species, causing huge losses, especially zoonotic IAVs infections that are more harmful. Fast and sensitive detection of IAVs is critical for controlling the spread of this disease.Methods:Here, a real-time reverse transcription recombinase-aided amplification (real-time RT-RAA) assay targeting conserved positions in the matrix protein gene (M gene) of IAVs, is successfully established to detect IAVs. The assay can be completed within 20 min at 42°C.Results:The sensitivity of the real-time RT-RAA assay was 142 copies per reaction at 95% probability, which was comparable to the sensitivity of the RT-qPCR assay. The specificity assay showed that the real-time RT-RAA assay was specific to IAVs, and there was no cross-reactivity with other important viruses. In addition, 100%concordance between the real-time RT-RAA and RT-qPCR assays was achieved after testing 120 clinical specimens.Discussion:The results suggested that the real-time RT-RAA assay we developed was a specific, sensitive and reliable diagnostic tool for the rapid detection of IAVs.

Abstract:The aim of this study was to develop a rapid, cost-saving triple reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (triple RT-PCR) for subtyping H9N2 avian influenza viruses (AIVs). The three primer pairs for amplification of target sequences of nucleoprotein (NP), hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) genes, respectively, were designed for subtyping the viruses in the triple RT-PCR. The sensitivity of triple RT-PCR was found to be 10(2) copies per reaction for each of NP, H9 and N2 gene. The specificity tests indicated that all of NP, HA and NA genes were positive for H9N2, only NP gene was positive for H5N1 and H1N1 AIVs, and the results were negative for the other avian viruses including Newcastle disease virus, infectious bronchitis virus, infectious bursal disease virus, duck hepatitis virus and avian encephalomyelitis virus. A total of 112 clinical samples were evaluated by the assay and the results showed that the sensitivity and specificity of triple RT-PCR were in accordance with the virus isolation. In conclusion, this method is rapid and cost-effective making it feasible and attractive for large-scale epidemiological investigation of H9N2 influenza virus.
POLARIMETRIC OPTIONS FOR SAR TOMOGRAPHY OF FORESTED AREAS

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to discuss the potentialities of SAR Tomograph y to infer information about the vertical structure of forested areas, basing on the availability of either multi-polarimetric or single-polarimetric data. The core of the analysis is represented by a model of the second order statistics of the multi-baseline, multi-polarimetric data that describes the imaged scene as the superposition of two distributed scattering mechanisms. In this framework, the well posing of the Tomographic problem can be discussed in a simple fashion, by considering the number of equations that arise from the data-set with respect to the number of the unknowns required to solve the model. As a result, it follows that through the exploitation of strongly structured models the vertical structure can be retrieved basing on single-polarimetric data as well, provided that a sufficient number of baselines is available. Still, the availability of multi-polarimetric and multi-baseline data offers the possibility to face the problem of the retrieval of the vertical structure of each scattering mechanism from a very general point of view, allowing to relax many of the assumptions that are otherwise mandatory. In other words, the availability of multipolarimetric data makes it possible to exploit not only model based approaches, but also model free, and hybrid approaches. As a result of this analysis, a new general methodology will be presented for the processing of multi-polarimetric and multibaseline data, that is consistent the inversion procedures usually exploited in single-baseline PolInSAR in the case where only single baseline data are available. Experimental results will be shown basing on a data-set of 9 P-Band SAR images of the forest site of Remningstorp, Sweden, acquired under the framework of the ESA campaign BioSAR 2007. Abstract:Background Highly pathogenic influenza A (H5N8) viruses have caused several worldwide outbreaks in birds and are of potential risk to humans. Thus, a specific, rapid and sensitive method for detection is urgently needed. Methods In the present study, TaqMan minor groove binder probes and multiplex real-time RT-PCR primers were designed to target the H5 hemagglutinin and N8 neuraminidase genes. A total of 38 strains of avian influenza viruses and other viruses were selected to test the performance of the assay. Results The results showed that only H5 and N8 avian influenza viruses yielded a positive signal, while all other subtypes avian influenza viruses and other viruses were negative. High specificity, repeatability, and sensitivity were achieved, with a detection limit of 10 copies per reaction. Conclusions The developed assay could be a powerful tool for rapid detection of H5N8 influenza viruses in the future.
A Multiplex TaqMan Real-Time RT-PCR Assay for the Simultaneous Detection of H4, H6, and H10 Avian Influenza Viruses

Abstract:Avian influenza viruses (AIVs) have caused a large number of epidemics in domestic and wild birds, and even posed a health challenge to humans. Highly pathogenic AIVs have attracted the most public attention. However, low pathogenic AIVs, including H4, H6, and H10 subtype AIVs, have spread covertly in domestic poultry, without obvious clinical signs. The emergence of human infections with H6 and H10 AIVs and the evidence of seropositivity of H4 AIV in poultry-exposed individuals indicated that these AIVs sporadically infect humans and could cause a potential pandemic. Therefore, a rapid and sensitive diagnostic method to simultaneously detect Eurasian lineage H4, H6, and H10 subtype AIVs is urgently required. Four singleplex real-time RT-PCR (RRT-PCR) assays were established based on carefully designed primers and probes of the conserved regions of the matrix, H4, H6, and H10 genes and combined into a multiplex RRT-PCR method to simultaneously detect H4, H6, and H10 AIVs in one reaction. The detection limit of the multiplex RRT-PCR method was 1-10 copies per reaction when detecting standard plasmids, and showed no cross-reaction against other subtype AIVs and other common avian viruses. Additionally, this method was suitable to detect the AIVs in samples from different sources, the results of which showed high consistency with virus isolation and a commercial influenza detection kit. In summary, this rapid, convenient, and practical multiplex RRT-PCR method could be applied in laboratory testing and clinical screening to detect AIVs.
Rapid diagnosis of canine respiratory coronavirus, canine influenza virus, canine distemper virus and canine parainfluenza virus with a Taqman probe-based multiplex real-time PCR

Abstract:Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex (CIRDC) is a highly infectious diseases. Canine respiratory coronavirus (CRCoV), Canine influenza virus (CIV), Canine distemper virus (CDV), and Canine parainfluenza virus (CPiV) are crucial pathogens causing CIRDC. Due to the similar clinical symptoms induced by these viruses, differential diagnosis based solely on symptoms can be challenging. In this study, a multiplex real-time PCR assay was developed for detecting the four RNA viruses of CIRDC. Specific primers and probes were designed to target M gene of CRCoV, M gene of CIV, N gene of CDV and NP gene of CPiV. The detection limit is 10 copies/μL for CIV or CRCoV, while the detection limit of CDV or CPiV is 100 copies/μL. Intra-group and inter-group repeatability coefficient of variation (CV) were both less than 2 %. A total of 341 clinical canine samples were analyzed, and the results indicated that the method developed in our study owns a good consistency and better specificity compared with the conventional reverse transcription PCR. This study provides a new method to enable the simultaneous detection of all four pathogens in a single reaction, improving the efficiency for monitoring the prevalence of four viruses in CIRDC, which benefits the control of CIRDC.

Abstract:Swine harbors a genetically diverse population of swine influenza A viruses (IAV-S), with demonstrated potential to transmit to the human population, causing outbreaks and pandemics. Here, we describe the development of a one-step, triplex real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) assay that detects and distinguishes the majority of the antigenically distinct influenza A virus hemagglutinin (HA) clades currently circulating in North American swine, including the IAV-S H1 1A.1 (α), 1A.2 (β), 1A.3 (γ), 1B.2.2 (δ1) and 1B.2.1 (δ2) clades, and the IAV-S H3 2010.1 clade. We performed an in-field test at an exhibition swine show using in-field viral concentration and RNA extraction methodologies and a portable real-time PCR instrument, and rapidly identified three distinct IAV-S clades circulating within the N.A. swine population. Portable sequencing is used to further confirm the results of the in-field test of the swine triplex assay. The IAV-S triplex rRT-PCR assay can be easily transported and used in-field to characterize circulating IAV-S clades in North America, allowing for surveillance and early detection of North American IAV-S with human outbreak and pandemic potential.

Abstract:The H2 subtypes of avian influenza A viruses (avian IAVs) have been circulating in poultry, and they have the potential to infect humans. Therefore, establishing a method to quickly detect this subtype is pivotal. We developed a TaqMan minor groove binder real-time RT-PCR assay that involved probes and primers based on conserved sequences of the matrix and hemagglutinin genes. The detection limit of this assay was as low as one 50% egg infectious dose (EID50)/mL per reaction. This assay is specific, sensitive, and rapid for detecting avian IAV H2 subtypes.

Abstract:Objective To develop a new quantification method for equine infectious anemia virus(EIAV) RNA by real-time PCR.Methods A pair of primers and a Taqman probe were designed on the bases of conservative sequence of strain LN40 for the amplification of real-time PCR and transcripted RNA containing the amplified fragment was used as a standard to quantify the sample RNA. To detect viral load in the plasma of horses challenged by DLV and/or LN40.Results The EIAV real-time PCR assay had a sensitivity of 10 copies/ml, with a dynamic range of detection between 10~1 and 10~9 copies/ml. The horses attacked by LN40 had fever and then died. During the fever phase, the viral load was positively related to body temperature. As a whole, the viral load of horses challenged by LN40 after being vaccinated by DLV was lower than that of horses directly challenged by LN40, and showed less than 10 copies/ml after three months of being challenged by LN40.Conclusion We successfully established a method for the quantification of EIAV RNA in plasma, and the feasibility of infectious state observation by detecting EIAV viral load using real-time PCR was proved. This method has potential application for investigating the pathogenesis of the virulent EIAV and the protective mechanism of the EIAV vaccine.
Establishment of reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification for rapid detection and differentiation of canine distemper virus infected and vaccinated animals

Abstract:Although widespread vaccination against canine distemper virus (CDV) has been conducted for many decades, several canine distemper outbreaks in vaccinated animals have been reported frequently. In order to detect and differentiate the wild-type and vaccine strains of the CDV from the vaccinated animals, a novel reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) method was developed. A set of four primers-two internal and two external-were designed to target the H gene for the specific detection of wild-type CDV variants. The CDV-H RT-LAMP assay rapidly amplified the target gene, within 60 min, using a water bath held at a constant temperature of 65°C. The assay was 100-fold more sensitive than conventional RT-PCR, with a detection limit of 10(-1)TCID50ml(-1). The system showed a preference for wild-type CDV, and exhibited less sensitivity to canine parvovirus, canine adenovirus type 1 and type 2, canine coronavirus, and canine parainfluenza virus. The assay was validated using 102 clinical samples obtained from vaccinated dog farms, and the results were comparable to a multiplex nested RT-PCR assay. The specific CDV-H RT-LAMP assay provides a simple, rapid, and sensitive tool for the detection of canines infected with wild-type CDV from canines vaccinated with attenuated vaccine.
Identification and HA Gene Sequence Analysis of a H3 N8 Subtype Equine Influenza Virus Isolate

Abstract:In April 2016,a suspect equine influenza case occurred in a horse ranch in Beijing.To make a defi-nite diagnosis of the etiological agent,virus isolation was taken by incubating the nose swabs collected from suffering horses to embryonated eggs,then hemagglutination test,hemagglutination inhibition test,gene sequencing and BLAST were conducted.A strain of equine influenza virus (EIV)named A/equine/Beijing/2016 was isolated from the nose swabs.The results of hemagglutination test,hemagglutination inhibition test and gene sequencing showed that the isolate belongs to H3N8 subtype.Further phylogenetic analysis of HA gene of the isolate indicated that this virus belongs to American EIV,Floride sublineage (clade 2).HA amino acid squence analysis of the isolate A/equine/Beijing/2016 and other EIV isolates in China for the past few years was conducted to find there was an important antigenic drift between A/equine/Beijing/2016 and the EIV vaiccine candidate strain recommaned by OIE.Frequent variations exist in HA gene of EIVand molecular epidemioloical surveillance of EIV need to be strengthened.
Establishment and application of a duplex fluorescent quantitative PCR assay for H9N2 subtype avian influenza virus and infectious bronchitis virus

Abstract:The H9N2 subtype of avian influenza virus (AIV) and infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) are important avian viruses that cause respiratory symptoms in poultry, and can form mixed infections. In this study, primers and probes were designed based on the HA gene of H9N2 and the 5′ noncoding region of IBV, respectively, and a fluorescent quantitative RT–PCR assay was established for simultaneous detection of these two pathogens. The reaction system and conditions were optimized. The method only detected AIV subtype H9N2 and IBV and no other viruses, confirming its high specificity. The assay detected 13.5 copies/μL and 1.66 copies/μL of H9N2 and IBV in clinical samples, respectively. The coefficients of variation for intra- and interassay repeatability were < 3%. The established method was used to analyze 254 clinical samples (oropharyngeal and cloacal swabs) from Hubei Province, China; 98.82% were positive for both pathogens. In summary, a duplex fluorescent quantitative RT–PCR method capable of simultaneously detecting AIV subtype H9N2 and IBV was established. It is specific, sensitive, and reproducible, and can be used for diagnosis of a variety of clinical samples. It provides a technological means for the rapid and simultaneous detection of both pathogens, and thus can facilitate clinical diagnosis and epidemiological investigations.

Abstract:Canine infectious respiratory disease complex (CIRDC) is the primary cause of respiratory disease in the canine population and is caused by a wide array of viruses and bacterial pathogens with coinfections being common. Since its recognition in late 2019, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been reported to cause respiratory disease in dogs. Therefore, the rapid detection and differentiation of SARS-CoV-2 from other common viral and bacterial agents is critical from a public health standpoint. Here, we developed and validated a panel of four one-step multiplex qPCR/RT-qPCR assays for the detection and identification of twelve pathogens associated with CIRDC (canine adenovirus-2, canine distemper virus, canine herpesvirus-1, canine influenza A virus, canine parainfluenza virus, canine pneumovirus, canine respiratory coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Streptococcus equi subsp. zooepidemicus, Mycoplasma cynos, and M. canis), as well as the identification of three main CIV subtypes (i.e., H3N2, H3N8, and H1N1). All developed assays demonstrated high specificity and analytical sensitivity. This panel was used to test clinical specimens (n = 76) from CIRDC-suspected dogs. M. canis, M. cynos, and CRCoV were the most frequently identified pathogens (30.3%, 25.0%, and 19.7% of samples, respectively). The newly emerging pathogens CPnV and SARS-CoV-2 were detected in 5.3% of samples and coinfections were identified in 30.3%. This new multiplex qPCR/RT-qPCR panel is the most comprehensive panel developed thus far for identifying CIRDC pathogens, along with SARS-CoV-2.

Abstract:BACKGROUND: Canine influenza virus (CIV) of the H3N8 subtype has emerged in dog populations throughout the United States where it has become endemic in kennels and animal shelters in some regions. It has not previously been determined whether the canine-adapted H3N8 influenza virus can be transmitted to chickens, turkeys or ducks which are economically important animals that are susceptible to type A influenza virus from numerous species.METHODS: Four-week-old specific pathogen-free (SPF) chickens, 3-week-old SPF turkeys and 2-week-old commercial Pekin ducks were inoculated with 10(5·2) 50% tissue culture infectious doses of CIV per bird by the intra-choanal route. The birds were observed daily, and at 2 and 4 days post-inoculation (DPI), two inoculated birds and one sham-inoculated control bird were euthanized and necropsied to evaluate gross lesions and to collect tissues for microscopic examination. Cloacal and oral swabs were collected at 2, 4 and 7 DPI to evaluate virus shed by real-time RT-PCR (rRT-PCR). Two weeks post-infection, sera were collected from all remaining birds for type A influenza antibody detection by hemagglutination inhibition assay.RESULTS: Clinical signs and gross lesions were not observed in any of the birds of any species nor did any seroconvert. Oral and Cloacal swab material was negative for virus by rRT-PCR.CONCLUSIONS: Chickens, turkeys and Pekin ducks are not susceptible to infection with CIV by simulated respiratory exposure route with the dose administered.

Abstract:Swine influenza is an economically important respiratory disease in swine, but it also constantly poses a threat to human health. Therefore, developing rapid, sensitive, and efficient detection methods for swine influenza virus (SIV) is important. By aligning the haemagglutinin (HA) gene sequences of SIVs circulating in China over a 10-year period, an H1 primer-probe set targeting both Eurasian avian-like H1N1 (EA H1N1) and pandemic 2009 H1N1 ((H1N1)pdm09) lineages plus a H3 primer-probe set targeting the prevalent human-like H3N2 (HL H3N2) subtype were designed. Subsequently, a TaqMan-MGB-based duplex one-step real-time RT-PCR (RT-qPCR) assay was established and evaluated. The duplex RT-qPCR has a detection limit of 5 copies/μL of HA plasmid for EA H1N1, (H1N1)pdm09, and HL H3N2 subtype SIVs, and its overall detection sensitivity of 100% and specificity of 91.67% matches that of traditional virus isolation through chicken embryo inoculation using experimentally infected mouse lung samples. The method showed high repeatability both within run and between runs, and there was no cross-reactivity against several other porcine viruses that are commonly circulating in China. Furthermore, the duplex RT-qPCR method revealed a higher prevalence of subtype H1 than subtype H3 in 166 nasal swabs from pigs collected from one slaughterhouse between October and December 2019. This assay could be very helpful in the rapid differential detection and routine surveillance of EA H1N1, (H1N1)pdm09, and HL H3N2 SIVs in China.
