Abstract:Multiple zeta values (MZVs for short) can be represented as iterated integrals of $\mathbb{Q}$-rational algebraic differential forms on $\mathbb{P}^1(\mathbb{C})\setminus\{0, 1, \infty\}$. This interpretation allows us to consider MZVs geometrically, and this is one of the motivations for Deligne--Goncharov, Terasoma et al. to give motivic interpretations of MZVs by using the theory of mixed Tate motives and the motivic fundamental groups. In this paper, we consider the iterated integrals on some rational curves over $\mathbb{Q}$ and study their arithmetic properties. They are an extension of MZVs and also include some other known special values such as multiple $\widetilde{T}$-values. Furthermore, we give motivic interpretations of them by investigating a relationship with motivic iterated integrals given by Goncharov. At this point, it is important to consider the base expansion and the Galois invariant part of the space of motivic iterated integrals. Finally, we denote that a motivic interpretation of the alternating multiple mixed values can be given by the same method. Our results also extend a part of author's previous work.

Abstract:The paper deals with a class of periods, Frobenius constants, which describe monodromy of Frobenius solutions of differential equations arising in algebraic geometry. We represent Frobenius constants related to families of elliptic curves as iterated integrals of modular forms. Using the theory of periods of modular forms, we then witness some of these constants in terms of zeta values.

Rankin-Selberg's local zeta integrals produce linear functionals on generic irreducible admissible smooth representations of $GL_n(k)\times GL_r(k)$, with certain invariance properties. We show that up to scalar multiplication, these linear functionals are determined by the invariance properties.

Abstract:We study an integer sequence associated with Cantor's division polynomials of a genus $2$ curve having an integral point. We show that the modulo $p$ of such a sequence is periodic for all but finitely many primes $p$, and describe the relation between the period of the modulo $p$ of the sequence and the order of the integral point on the reduction modulo $p$ in the Jacobian variety explicitly. This generalizes Ward's results on elliptic divisibility sequences associated with division polynomials of elliptic curves.

Abstract:We give a dynamical proof of a result of Masser and Zannier [MZ2, MZ3] about torsion points on the Legendre family of elliptic curves. Our methods also treat points of small height. A key ingredient is the arithmetic equidistribution theorem on $\mathbb{P}^1$ of Baker-Rumely, Chambert-Loir, and Favre-Rivera-Letelier. Torsion points on the elliptic curve coincide with preperiodic points for the degree-4 Lattes family of rational functions. Our main new results concern properties of the bifurcation measures for this Lattes family associated to marked points.
Zeta functions and nonvanishing theorems for toric periods on $\mathrm{GL}_2$

Abstract:Let $F$ be a number field and $D$ a quaternion algebra over $F$. Take a cuspidal automorphic representation $\pi$ of $D_\mathbb{A}^\times$ with trivial central cahracter. We study the zeta functions with period integrals on $\pi$ for the perhomogeneous vector space $(D^\times\times D^\times\times\mathrm{GL}_2, D\oplus D)$. We show their meromorphic continuation and functional equation, determine the location and orders of possible poles and compute the residue. Arguing along the theory of Saito and computing unramified local factors, the explicit formula of the zeta functions is obtained. Counting the order of possible poles of this explicit formula, we show that if $L(1/2, \pi)\neq0$, there are infinitely many quadratic extension $E$ of $F$ which embeds in $D$, such that $\pi$ has nonvanishing toric period with respect to $E$.

Abstract:We propose a relation between values of the Riemann zeta function $\zeta$ and a family of integrals. This results in an integral representation for $\zeta(2p)$, where $p$ is a positive integer, and an expression of $\zeta(2p+1)$ involving one of the above mentioned integrals together with a harmonic-number sum. Simplification of the latter eventually leads to an integral representation of $\zeta(2p + 1)$.

Abstract:In this talk we discuss a class of Feynman integrals, which can be expressed to all orders in the dimensional regularisation parameter as iterated integrals of modular forms. We review the mathematical prerequisites related to elliptic curves and modular forms. Feynman integrals, which evaluate to iterated integrals of modular forms go beyond the class of multiple polylogarithms. Nevertheless, we may bring for all examples considered the associated system of differential equations by a non-algebraic transformation to an $\varepsilon$-form, which makes a solution in terms of iterated integrals immediate.

Hypergeometric Motives from Euler Integral Representations

Abstract:We revisit certain one-parameter families of affine covers arising naturally from Euler's integral representation of hypergeometric functions. We introduce a partial compactification of this family. We show that the zeta function of the fibers in the family can be written as an explicit product of $L$-series attached to nondegenerate hypergeometric motives and zeta functions of tori, twisted by Hecke Grossencharacters. This permits a combinatorial algorithm for computing the Hodge numbers of the family.

Abstract:We introduce and prove evaluations for families of multiple elliptic integrals by solving special types of ordinary and partial differential equations. As an application, we obtain new expressions of Ramanujan-type series of level 4 and associated singular values for the complete elliptic integral $\mathbf K$ with integrals involving $\mathbf K$.

Abstract:This work is a study of $p$-adic multiple zeta values at roots of unity ($p$MZV$\mu_{N}$'s), the $p$-adic periods of the crystalline pro-unipotent fundamental groupoid of $(\mathbb{P}^{1} - \{0,\mu_{N},\infty\})/ \mathbb{F}_{q}$. The main tool is new objects which we call $p$-adic pro-unipotent harmonic actions. In this part IV we define and study $p$-adic analogues of some elementary complex analytic functions which interpolate multiple zeta values at roots of unity such as the multiple zeta functions. The indices of $p$MZV$\mu_{N}$'s involve sequences of positive integers ; in this IV-1, by considering an operation which we call localization (inverting certain integration operators) in the pro-unipotent fundamental groupoid of $\mathbb{P}^{1} - \{0,\mu_{N},\infty\}$, and by using $p$-adic pro-unipotent harmonic actions, we extend the definition of $p$MZV$\mu_{N}$'s to indices for which these integers can be negative, and we study these generalized $p$MZV$\mu_{N}$'s.

Abstract:In this paper, we give a natural construction of mixed Tate motives whose periods are a class of iterated integrals which include the multiple polylogarithm functions. Given such an iterated integral, we construct two divisors A and B in the moduli spaces M¯0,n of n-pointed stable curves of genus 0, and prove that the cohomology of the pair (M¯0,n−A,B−B∩A) is a framed mixed Tate motive whose period is that integral. It generalizes the results of A. Goncharov and Yu. Manin for multiple ζ-values. Then we apply our construction to the dilogarithm and calculate the period matrix which turns out to be same with the canonical one of Deligne.

Abstract:We give a simple expression for the integral of the canonical holomorphic volume form in degenerating families of varieties constructed from wall structures and with central fiber a union of toric varieties. The cycles to integrate over are constructed from tropical 1-cycles in the intersection complex of the central fiber. One application is a proof that the mirror map for the canonical formal families of Calabi-Yau varieties constructed by Gross and the second author is trivial. We also show that these families are the completion of an analytic family, without reparametrization, and that they are formally versal as deformations of logarithmic schemes. Other applications include canonical one-parameter type III degenerations of K3 surfaces with prescribed Picard groups. As a technical result of independent interest we develop a theory of period integrals with logarithmic poles on finite order deformations of normal crossing analytic spaces.

Abstract:We define the twisted doubling zeta integrals of Cai-Friedberg-Ginzburg-Kaplan in the setting of algebraic families. We then prove a rationality result and a functional equation for these zeta integrals. This allows us to define an unnormalized $\gamma$-factor associated to certain families of representation of a classical group times a general linear group.

Abstract:Motivated by the work of Candelas et al. (Calabi–Yau manifolds over finite fields, I. arXiv:hep-th/0012233 , 2000) on counting points for quintic family over finite fields, we study the relations among Hasse–Witt matrices, unit-root part of zeta functions and period integrals of Calabi–Yau hypersurfaces in both toric varieties and flag varieties. We prove a conjecture by Vlasenko (Higher Hasse–Witt matrices. Indag Math 29(5):1411–1424, 2018) on unit-root F-crystals for toric hypersurfaces following Katz’s local expansion method (1984, 1985) in logarithmic setting. The Frobenius matrices of unit-root F-crystals also have close relation with period integrals. The proof gives a way to pass from Katz’s congruence relations in terms of expansion coefficients (1985) to Dwork’s congruence relations (1969) about periods.
$p$-adic zeta integrals on unitary groups via Bushnell-Kutzko types

Abstract:In this paper, we compute certain $p$-adic zeta integrals appearing in the doubling method of Garrett and Piatetski-Shapiro-Rallis for unitary groups. Using structure theorems in the author's work <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2310.09110" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2310.09110">arXiv:2310.09110</a> for $P$-(anti-)ordinary automorphic representations involving Bushnell-Kutzko types, we associate local Siegel-Weil sections at $p$ to such Bushnell-Kutzko types. Then, fixing compatible choices of $P$-anti-ordinary vectors, we find explicit formulae relating the corresponding $p$-adic zeta integral to modified $p$-Euler factors and volumes of $P$-Iwahoric subgroups. Our results extend the ones of Eischen, Harris, Li and Skinner for the ordinary setting by allowing automorphic representations with nontrivial supercuspidal support at $p$.

Abstract:We construct a family of elliptic surfaces with $p_g=q=1$ that arise from base change of the Hesse pencil. We identify explicitly a component of the higher Noether-Lefschetz locus with positive Mordell-Weil rank, and a particular surface having maximal Picard number and defined over $\mathbb Q$. These examples satisfy the infinitesimal Torelli theorem, providing a second proof of the dominance of period map, which was first obtained by Engel-Greer-Ward. A third proof is provided using the Shioda modular surface associated with $\Gamma_0(11)$. Finally, we find birational models for the degenerations at the boundary of the one-dimensional Noether-Lefschetz locus, and extend the period map at those limit points.
