Abstract:A stochastic sewing lemma which is applicable for processes taking values in Banach spaces is introduced. Applications to additive functionals of fractional Brownian motion of distributional type are discussed.

Abstract:We give an extension of Lê's stochastic sewing lemma [Electron. J. Probab. 25: 1 - 55, 2020]. The stochastic sewing lemma proves convergence in $L_m$ of Riemann type sums $\sum _{[s,t] \in \pi } A_{s,t}$ for an adapted two-parameter stochastic process $A$, under certain conditions on the moments of $A_{s,t}$ and of conditional expectations of $A_{s,t}$ given $\mathcal {F}_s$. Our extension replaces the conditional expectation given $\mathcal F_s$ by that given $\mathcal F_v$ for $v < s$, and it allows to make use of asymptotic decorrelation properties between $A_{s,t}$ and $\mathcal {F}_v$ by including a singularity in $(s-v)$. We provide three applications for which Lê's stochastic sewing lemma seems to be insufficient.The first is to prove the convergence of Itô or Stratonovich approximations of stochastic integrals along fractional Brownian motions under low regularity assumptions. The second is to obtain new representations of local times of fractional Brownian motions via discretization. The third is to improve a regularity assumption on the diffusion coefficient of a stochastic differential equation driven by a fractional Brownian motion for pathwise uniqueness and strong existence.

Abstract:The stochastic sewing lemma recently introduced by Le~(2020) allows to construct a unique limit process from a doubly indexed stochastic process that satisfies some regularity. This lemma is stated in a given probability space on which these processes are defined. The present paper develops a version of this lemma for probability measures: from a doubly indexed family of maps on the set of probability measures that have a suitable probabilistic representation, we are able to construct a limit flow of maps on the probability measures. This result complements and improves the existing result coming from the classical sewing lemma. It is applied to the case of law-dependent jump SDEs for which we obtain weak existence result as well as the uniqueness of the marginal laws.

Abstract:In this paper, we first obtain a Bernstein type of concentration inequality for stochastic integrals of multivariate point processes under some conditions through the Doléans-Dade exponential formula, and then derive a uniform exponential inequality using a generic chaining argument. As a direct consequence, we obtain an upper bound for a sequence of discrete time martingales indexed by a class of functionals. Finally, we apply the uniform exponential bound to nonparametric maximum likelihood estimators and provide a rate of convergence in terms of Hellinger distance, which is an improvement of earlier work of van de Geer (1995).

Abstract:Stochastic processes of bounded variation are generated based on their two most important characteristics: spectral density functions and probability density functions. Two models are presented for the purpose: the randomized harmonic model and the nonlinear filter model. In the randomized harmonic model, a random noise is introduced in the phase angle; while in the nonlinear filter model, a set of nonlinear Ito differential equations are employed. In both methods, the spectral density of a stochastic process to be modeled, either with one peak or with multiple peaks, can be matched by adjusting model parameters. However, the probability density of the process generated by the randomized harmonic model has a fixed shape and cannot be adjusted. On the other hand, the nonlinear filter model covers a variety of profiles of probability distributions. For the Monte Carlo simulation using these two models, equivalent and alternative expressions are proposed, which make the simulation more effective and efficient.

As an application, we try to find the ruin probability with an unknown parameter driven by mfBm and the Least Square Estimator of the drift parameter in the mixed fractional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process.
Approximation of SDEs: a stochastic sewing approach

Abstract:We give a new take on the error analysis of approximations of stochastic differential equations (SDEs), utilizing and developing the stochastic sewing lemma of Lê (Electron J Probab 25:55, 2020. 10.1214/20-EJP442). This approach allows one to exploit regularization by noise effects in obtaining convergence rates. In our first application we show convergence (to our knowledge for the first time) of the Euler-Maruyama scheme for SDEs driven by fractional Brownian motions with non-regular drift. When the Hurst parameter is H ∈ ( 0 , 1 ) and the drift is C α , α ∈ [ 0 , 1 ] and α > 1 - 1 / ( 2 H ) , we show the strong L p and almost sure rates of convergence to be ( ( 1 / 2 + α H ) ∧ 1 ) - ε , for any ε > 0 . Our conditions on the regularity of the drift are optimal in the sense that they coincide with the conditions needed for the strong uniqueness of solutions from Catellier and Gubinelli (Stoch Process Appl 126(8):2323-2366, 2016. 10.1016/j.spa.2016.02.002). In a second application we consider the approximation of SDEs driven by multiplicative standard Brownian noise where we derive the almost optimal rate of convergence 1 / 2 - ε of the Euler-Maruyama scheme for C α drift, for any ε , α > 0 .
Rough Stochastic Analysis with Jumps

Abstract:We present a new version of the stochastic sewing lemma, capable of handling multiple discontinuous control functions. This is then used to develop a theory of rough stochastic analysis in a càdlàg setting. In particular, we define rough stochastic integration and establish solutions to rough stochastic differential equations with jump discontinuities in both sources of noise, along with an Itô formula for stochastic controlled paths with jumps.

Abstract:In this article some of the important ideas in ordinary stochastic analysis are applied to fractional Brownian motions (fBm's). First we give a simple and elementary proof of the fact that any fBm has zero quadratic variation. This fact leads to the non-semimartingale structure of fBm's. Another consequence is that we can integrate (in probability) the functionals of fBm's with fBm differentials. With the same integrator, we then develop the L2 integration theory of bounded sure processes based on of K. Bichteler's integral extension theory. Finally, we investigate the corresponding stochastic differential equations with fractional Brownian noise

Abstract:Stochastic processes on topological vector spaces over non-Archimedean fields and with transition measures having values in non-Archimedean fields are defined and investigated. For this the non-Archimedean analog of the Kolmogorov theorem is proved. The analogos of Markov and Poisson processes are studied. For Poisson processes the corresponding Poisson measures are considered and the non-Archimedean analog of the L\`evy theorem is proved. Wide classes of stochastic processes are constructed.

This work aims at establishing existence, uniqueness, regularity results for mild solutions to an initial value problem for considered equations in two cases of H that are H>12 and H<12. In addition, the continuities of mild solutions with respect to the time variable and the order fractional derivative are constructed.

Abstract:First, we solve a crucial problem under which conditions increasing uniform K-monotonicity is equivalent to lower locally uniform K-monotonicity. Next, we investigate properties of substochastic operators on $L^1+L^\infty$ with applications. Namely, we show that a countable infinite combination of substochastic operators is also substochastic. Using K-monotonicity properties, we prove several theorems devoted to the convergence of the sequence of substochastic operators in the norm of a symmetric space E under addition assumption on E. In our final discussion we focus on compactness of admissible operators for arbitrary Banach couples.

Stochastic Processes and their Applications

Abstract:In this article we introduce cylindrical fractional Brownian motions in Banach spaces and develop the related stochastic integration theory. Here a cylindrical fractional Brownian motion is understood in the classical framework of cylindrical random variables and cylindrical measures. The developed stochastic integral for deterministic operator valued integrands is based on a series representation of the cylindrical fractional Brownian motion, which is analogous to the Karhunen–Loève expansion for genuine stochastic processes. In the last part we apply our results to study the abstract stochastic Cauchy problem in a Banach space driven by cylindrical fractional Brownian motion.

Abstract:We will develop some elements in stochastic analysis in the Wasserstein space $\mathbb{P}_2(M)$ over a compact Riemannian manifold $M$, such as intrinsic It$ô$ formulae, stochastic regular curves and parallel translations along them. We will establish the existence of parallel translations along regular curves, or stochastic regular curves in case of $\mathbb{P}_2(\mathbb{T})$. Surprisingly enough, in this last case, the equation defining stochastic parallel translations is a SDE on a Hilbert space, instead of a SPDE.

Abstract:In this paper, by using a Taylor development type formula, we show how it is possible to associate differential operators with stochastic differential equations driven by a fractional Brownian motion. As an application, we deduce that invariant measures for such SDEs must satisfy an infinite dimensional system of partial differential equations.

Abstract:In this paper we study a general family of multivariable Gaussian stochastic processes. Each process is prescribed by a fixed Borel measure $\sigma$ on $\mathbb R^n$. The case when $\sigma$ is assumed absolutely continuous with respect to Lebesgue measure was studied earlier in the literature, when $n=1$. Our focus here is on showing how different equivalence classes (defined from relative absolute continuity for pairs of measures) translate into concrete spectral decompositions of the corresponding stochastic processes under study. The measures $\sigma$ we consider are typically purely singular. Our proofs rely on the theory of (singular) unbounded operators in Hilbert space, and their spectral theory.

Abstract:In the continuity of a recent paper ([6]), dealing with finite Markov chains, this paper proposes and analyzes a recursive algorithm for the approximation of the quasi-stationary distribution of a general Markov chain living on a compact metric space killed in finite time. The idea is to run the process until extinction and then to bring it back to life at a position randomly chosen according to the (possibly weighted) empirical occupation measure of its past positions. General conditions are given ensuring the convergence of this measure to the quasi-stationary distribution of the chain. We then apply this method to the numerical approximation of the quasi-stationary distribution of a diffusion process killed on the boundary of a compact set and to the estimation of the spectral gap of irreducible Markov processes. Finally, the sharpness of the assumptions is illustrated through the study of the algorithm in a non-irreducible setting.
