Abstract:The main aim of the present work deals with the various derivatives to any order of the Humbert confluent hypergeometric functions with respect to the parameters is presented, believed to be new, by using the conception of the calculus. The present paper contains various properties and compact forms for the derivatives with respect to the parameters for the Humbert confluent hypergeometric functions. A few interesting new as well as certain related results are also discussed in the analysis of the properties.

Abstract:Owing to the remarkable success of the hypergeometric functions of one variable, the authors present a study of some families of hypergeometric functions of two or more variables. These functions include (for example) the Kampé de Fériet-type hypergeometric functions in two variables and Srivastava's general hypergeometric function in three variables. The main aim of this paper is to provide several (presumably new) transformation and summation formulas for appropriately specified members of each of these families of hypergeometric functions in two and three variables. The methodology and techniques, which are used in this paper, are based upon the evaluation of some definite integrals involving logarithmic functions in terms of Riemann's zeta function, Catalan's constant, polylogarithm functions, and so on.

Abstract:Various families of such Special Functions as the hypergeometric functions of one, two and more variables, and their associated summation, transformation and reduction formulas, are potentially useful not only as solutions of ordinary and partial differential equations, but also in the widespread problems in the mathematical, physical, engineering and statistical sciences. The main object of this paper is first to establish four general double-series identities, which involve some suitably-bounded sequences of complex numbers, by using zero-balanced terminating hypergeometric summation theorems for the generalized hypergeometric series r+1Fr(1) (r = 1, 2, 3) in conjunction with the series rearrangement technique. The sum (or difference) of two general double hypergeometric functions of the Kamp? de F?riet type are then obtained in terms of a generalized hypergeometric function under appropriate convergence conditions. A closed form of the following Clausen hypergeometric function: 3F2 (?27z/4(1?z)3) and a reduction formula for the Srivastava-Daoust double hypergeometric function with the arguments (z,?z/4 ) are also derived. Many of the reduction formulas, which are established in this paper, are verified by using the software program, Mathematica. Some potential directions for further researches along the lines of this paper are also indicated.

Abstract:Series containing the digamma function arise when calculating the parametric derivatives of the hypergeometric functions and play a role in evaluation of Feynman diagrams. As these series are typically non-hypergeometric, a few instances when they are summable in terms of hypergeometric functions are of importance. In this paper, we convert multi-term identities for the generalized hypergeometric functions evaluated at unity into identities connecting them to the digamma series via the appropriate limiting process. The resulting formulas can be viewed as hypergeometric expressions for the $1$-norm of the gradient of the generalized hypergeometric function with respect to all its parameters and seem to have no direct analogues in the literature.

Abstract:Abstract In this manuscript, we introduce and study the concept of exponential trigonometric convex functions and their some algebraic properties. We obtain Hermite-Hadamard type inequalities for the newly introduced class of functions. We also obtain some refinements of the Hermite-Hadamard inequality for functions whose first derivative in absolute value, raised to a certain power which is greater than one, respectively at least one, is exponential trigonometric convex function. It has been shown that the result obtained with Hölder-İşcan and improved power-mean integral inequalities give better approximations than that obtained with Hölder and improved power-mean integral inequalities.

Abstract:Understanding the role that subgradients play in various second-order variational analysis constructions can help us uncover new properties of important classes of functions in variational analysis. Focusing mainly on the behavior of the second subderivative and subgradient proto-derivative of polyhedral functions, i.e., functions with polyhedral convex epigraphs, we demonstrate that choosing the underlying subgradient, utilized in the definitions of these concepts, from the relative interior of the subdifferential of polyhedral functions ensures stronger second-order variational properties such as strict twice epi-differentiability and strict subgradient proto-differentiability. This allows us to characterize continuous differentiability of the proximal mapping and twice continuous differentiability of the Moreau envelope of polyhedral functions. We close the paper with proving the equivalence of metric regularity and strong metric regularity of a class of generalized equations at their nondegenerate solutions.

Abstract:The umbral restyling of hypergeometric functions is shown to be a useful and efficient approach in simplifying the associated computational technicalities. In this article, the authors provide a general introduction to the umbral version of Gauss hypergeometric functions and extend the formalism to certain generalized forms of these functions. It is shown that suggested approach is particularly efficient for evaluating integrals involving hypergeometric functions and their combination with other special functions.

Abstract:Investigation of the generalized trigonometric and hyperbolic functions containing two parameters has been a very active research area over the last decade. We believe, however, that their monotonicity and convexity properties with respect to parameters have not been thoroughly studied. In this paper, we make an attempt to fill this gap. Our results are not complete; for some functions, we manage to establish (log)-convexity/concavity in parameters, while for others, we only managed the prove monotonicity, in which case we present necessary and sufficient conditions for convexity/concavity. In the course of the investigation, we found two hypergeometric representations for the generalized cosine and hyperbolic cosine functions which appear to be new. In the last section of the paper, we present four explicit integral evaluations of combinations of generalized trigonometric/hyperbolic functions in terms of hypergeometric functions.

Abstract:The family of functions, we investigate in this article, was originally introduced by <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://A.Denjoy" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> and later rediscovered by R Tichy and J. Uitz. We denote the functions of the family by $g_{\lambda}(x),$ where $\lambda\in(0,1)$. The definition will be given in the following section. The most famous function of the family is the Minkiowski question-mark function. As we would see, it corresponds to $\lambda=\frac12$. All functions of the family are continuous, strictly increasing and map the segment $[0,1]$ onto itself. Moreover, they are singular i.e. $\forall \lambda$ the derivative $g'_{\lambda}(x),$ if exists, can take only two values: 0 and $+\infty.$ In this paper we consider two functions of the class which correspond to $\lambda$ equals $\frac{\sqrt5-1}2$ or $1-\frac{\sqrt5-1}2.$ The aim of this paper is to prove some theorems about essential conditions on x such that if the condition holds then the derivative $g'_{\lambda}(x)$ exists and has determined value. The constants used in our theorems are non-improvable. Our paper is wirtten in Russian. However Introduction and the formulation of main results are written in English.

A Ramanujan's hypergeometric transformation formula, its validity range and implications

Abstract:We extend the validity range of a Ramanujan's hypergeometric transformation formula proved by Berndt, Bhargava and Garvan, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 347, 4163 (1995) and study its implications. Relations to special values of complete elliptic integrals of the first kind in the singular value theory are established. Consequently, we derive several closed-form evaluations of hypergeometric functions $_2F_1$ with different sets of parameters and arguments. Connections with other hypergeometric transformations and some recent results are discussed.

Our aim in this article is to investigate certain interesting several $q$-partial derivative formulas, $q$-contiguous function relations, $q$-recurrence relations, various $q$-partial differential equations, summation formulas, transformation formulas and $q$-integrals representations for basic Humbert confluent hypergeometric functions under what constraints of parameters. These interesting properties, as special cases, include many known expansions of basic Humbert hypergeometric functions, and are also include particular interest in the area.

Abstract:We consider stochastic optimization problems where the objective depends on some parameter, as commonly found in hyperparameter optimization for instance. We investigate the behavior of the derivatives of the iterates of Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) with respect to that parameter and show that they are driven by an inexact SGD recursion on a different objective function, perturbed by the convergence of the original SGD. This enables us to establish that the derivatives of SGD converge to the derivative of the solution mapping in terms of mean squared error whenever the objective is strongly convex. Specifically, we demonstrate that with constant step-sizes, these derivatives stabilize within a noise ball centered at the solution derivative, and that with vanishing step-sizes they exhibit $O(\log(k)^2 / k)$ convergence rates. Additionally, we prove exponential convergence in the interpolation regime. Our theoretical findings are illustrated by numerical experiments on synthetic tasks.

Abstract:In this paper we consider basic hypergeometric functions introduced by Heine. We study mapping properties of certain ratios of basic hypergeometric functions having shifted parameters and show that they map the domains of analyticity onto domains convex in the direction of the imaginary axis. In order to investigate these mapping properties, few useful identities are obtained in terms of basic hypergeometric functions. In addition, we find conditions under which the basic hypergeometric functions are in $q$-close-to-convex family.

Abstract:We derive generalizations of Dupire formula to the cases of general stochastic drift and/or stochastic local volatility. First, we handle a case in which the drift is given as difference of two stochastic short rates. Such a setting is natural in foreign exchange context where the short rates correspond to the short rates of the two currencies, equity single-currency context with stochastic dividend yield, or commodity context with stochastic convenience yield. We present the formula both in a call surface formulation as well as total implied variance formulation where the latter avoids calendar spread arbitrage by construction. We provide derivations for the case where both short rates are given as single factor processes and present the limits for a single stochastic rate or all deterministic short rates. The limits agree with published results. Then we derive a formulation that allows a more general stochastic drift and diffusion including one or more stochastic local volatility terms. In the general setting, our derivation allows the computation and calibration of the leverage function for stochastic local volatility models. Despite being implicit, the generalized Dupire formulae can be used numerically in a fixed-point iterative scheme.
